3	changing divorce laws Honestly I think the reduction in birth rate is in part because the reduction of traditional marriages. There are a lot of women who are sold ‘having it all’ which turns out to be ‘doing it all’. Traditional marriage is one answer to that, and divorce laws give the spouse who stays home to raise children some protections. Honestly I think it’s more women opting out of children because it is frankly a rough gig for a lot of ‘modern’ women.
