As a european, this always baffles me. How can academic institutions have even nearly that much influence on anything other than the teaching? Here, the universities would never stick their noses into anything the students to. It’s all just about studying, no more, no less.

I already said this the last time this was posted: as far as i understood the study, it’s not that women are actually less qualified but that one CV will more likely be accepted if the recruiter knows that it’s a woman. To say that women are less qualified is a wrong conclusion then

The issue is that there’s a lot of bias in the medical field. There’s even a paper signed by dozens of doctors talking about this bias. It was released after the aap basically said how beneficial cutting dicks is. That paper about bias was followed up by another paper telling the authors they were biased themselves. The academic version of “no YOU are biased”

A friend of mine studied law here in austria. He said major law scholars literally argue that religious freedom outweighs the children's rights.
