What I'm saying is not that nobody is going to report a woman because of her gender, but that very few get reported at all. The only realistic scenario is that the police launch an investigation against organized prostitution and catch them. This takes time and money that the Swedish police doesn't want to spend. There has to be a third person that reports the crime, and with just a little discretion it's hard.

Both buying and selling used to be illegal, due to it "being immoral". The law was changed so that selling became legal simply so that the prostitutes wouldn't have to fear the authorities. It really is that simple.

Or you could just read the actual law and see that it's illegal for anyone to purchase sex in Sweden, not just men. The fact that there's a link to a case where the law was applied to a minor doesn't change anything.

No, the law isn't targeted against men, it's targeted against those who buy sex. Saying that it's targeted against men makes it seem like you think a vast majority of all men purchase sex. Don't act like a dumkopf, because you probably aren't one.

I don't know, haven't heard of any such case but that doesn't mean that it hasn't happened. The problem with prostitution is who's going to report it? That women buy sex in Sweden is no secret, there's lots to be found if you google it but all the results I've seen have been about adult women. But the law is the law and I find it very hard to believe that an underage girl wouldn't get prosecuted if it was reported. But like I said, who's going to report it?

It's just as legal for men to sell sex in Sweden as it is for women, and just as illegal for women to pay for it as it is for men so this doesn't really belong here at all. The reason behind the law is to help those that in one way or another have been forced into prostitution, be it drugs or trafficking. If it was illegal it would make them criminals and thus less likely to seek help from authorities.

No, it's four independent cinemas that have chosen to inform their viewers if a movie has passed the Bechdel test. They won't point out that a movie hasn't passed the test and it's not a criteria for them to show a movie. This molehill has been made into a mountain on Reddit though.

I don't know how well you know Sweden, but I assure you, the government has not removed toy cars from preschools. Even if they wanted to, they couldn't. There might be a preschool somewhere that has removed them, but to come out like you do and say that the government has removed them from all is just beyond stupid.

It's a small group that is trying to spread the usage of "hen" in Sweden, and they haven't gained much traction. It will most likely fail, as pronouns are a closed word class and changes in languages comes from the users, not policy makers. Or to put it the way my old professor in German grammar did: "Hen is for feminists to stupid too use the passive form."

Having worked as a teacher, I agree but... The most important skill to start teaching young is critical thinking. It amazed me how easily kids today would believe anything. It's a growing problem since kids now grow up with internet all around them where any idiot can post anything. If they don't learn to start questioning the source will soon have a generation with potentially very dangerous beliefs.

I would bring it up, but not that the problem is female colleagues breaking it. Instead, point out that the dress code needs to be updated as it is clearly not being followed and it seems okay to do so. Point out how many cases of jeans you've seen during the week (i.e not Fridays), flip flops etc. Don't mention who wore what, don't mention that it's only women.

That's exactly what I'm saying. In a country where 100% of the education is towards one gender and one gender only due to laws and cultural traditions, I think it's important to change that and I see nothing wrong with targeting aid towards the neglected gender. And, believe it or not, in many places in the world, that gender is the female gender.

I don't see anything wrong with this. For me, the MRM is about equality and in a lot of places where your money would go, there's very little equality and being born a girl is a "handicap". You have to see things for what they are, affirmative action to let girls n ahead of boys at western universities is a bad thing, building all girls schools in a place where girls otherwise would be denied equal opportunities to basic education is a good thing.

First of all, I don't see how this has anything to do with Sweden, as the headline isn't from a Swedish paper. If you look at the headline of the biggest tabloid in Sweden it clearly says 'woman' in it. As for your comment/quote, it's very common for the Swedish press to print crap like that. Recently a robber was shot by the police and later died in the hospital. The press printed quotes from his family stating that he was the most loving person ever that would never do anything bad or harm any…
