Yeah it's bullshit. I don't know what they do on their end to combat this (if they do anything at all), but it seems like they don't have much incentive to aggressively get rid of fake profiles. You pay for swipes and you use them up faster (w/ no real results) with the existence of fake profiles.

I think it mainly boils down to execution. How, when, where you give the compliment makes a huge difference. Your inflections and mannerisms when you say it could make a huge difference. But yes, there are definitely women who simply don't like them. I thought blunt compliments were a no-no for a while, but I realized that I had just been a complete fucking cornball when I gave them out.
