agreed. at no point is it explicitly stated it's because he's a man. All we see is an argument/public freak out. No clue what led to the man being refused service. I give the recent Covington Catholic case that judgement cannot be provided without full knowledge of the events which occured.

You're not even making sense. You're ranting and raving about enemies and calling people trash. And for some reason I'm toxic because you're on a rampage and I think you should be more respectful? Drink less coffee and step away from the internet when it hits you this hard, man. My god

and, aside from the physical carrying/birth of the child, what difference is there between a woman being forced into parenthood and a man being forced? As if the woman choosing somehow means there will be "happy parents" as you put it.

The problem is not victims coming forward. It is claims that are being made through the media, with no one requiring evidence or due process, before a lynch mob is formed and punishment doled out to the accused

Yeah I don’t know man, I’m all for maternity leave. I don’t think people should lose what they’ve worked for just for having a kid. I do think fathers should get the same. Frankly your example seems to imply it’s only men picking up the weight and doesn’t account for female employees that pull their share through other’s maternity leave. Argue for more rather than less i.e. men should have fair treatment rather than women shouldn’t have x. I mean for every woman having a kid, are we forgetting t…

Before this incident, Wiener hasn't done anything wrong except have a private life. Just like any other person. Let's put your bullshit in the tabloids and judge you. I'm sure you would look like an angel. Aside from that no one is defending Wiener in this incident. He broke the law. But it is worth pointing out that females who actually have sexual contact with minors often get less or no jail time...which is what this thread is about.
/r/MensRights26/09/17 08:20 AM

Yeah he broke the law obviously. I think the point OP is making though, is that female teacher who actually fuck minors often get off with less or no jail time. Not sure they are making the argument Wiener should have gotten off. Just that women have a clear privilege when it comes to sentencing in this country

Youtuber is keeping this going, like I've said. You can't argue harassment while you're engaging. He's not walking away, he's in the bikers face. You also can't argue harassment just for someone saying something to you that you don't like. Someone made a comment to him from across the street. Free speech. Don't do the PC victim dance.
/r/MensRights27/06/17 06:40 PM
1

With all due respect, are we looking at the same video? You can't walk into some place, start some shit and then claim harassment when they argue and don't drop it the moment you say it's done.
/r/MensRights27/06/17 05:12 PM
1

I don't disagree with you necessarily, and I'm not defending these people but the issue relies more on whether they were following and harassing him prior to him entering that establishment and instigating a confrontation. Once it escalated to an arguement he willfully engaged in (if not started), you would be hard pressed to sell him as a victim of harassment.
/r/MensRights27/06/17 04:37 PM
1

From what I can get from this, they yelled some stuff at him from across the street. Harassment? I don't know. I don't know how much they specifically target him, how often, how extreme. They talked some shit. He chose to go over to their business and argue about it. I have to admit, I have not watched the entire video since the opening moments immediately lost my support. I skimmed to moments.

Guy went looking for a video confrontation. People are allowed to yell stuff at you in public. He chose to escalate it by entering the business establishment looking for a fight. We should demand no resignation. High road or no road. I refuse to enter the pissing match of the PC. My fight is with their blockade against free speech. I'm not fighting for the right to do the same. I'm fighting so that I can speak freely and my critics have the right to say so. Joining in their game, calling for som…

I mean that if we are going to consider a shirt a men's issue next to genital mutilation, child custody, and rape witch-hunts, then we are doomed.

This shirt issue has to die. It was years ago. It's over and done with. It was a minor blurb in the daily news cycle yet it is bitterly clung to by our side. It's been forgotten by the rest of the world. Still harping on it doesn't look good or appealing to potential allies.

How have they been excluded? We're discussing a film about a classic A-level, main title, long running series, female superhero. I don't necessarily feel this is an invasion but I don't think women have been excluded from comic culture either.

That's the thing that gets at me. A strong male character isn't made strong by surrounding them with moronic females. A strong female character is always dealing with the incompetent males around her. I can enjoy a good, real, strong female as the main character. But don't make all men cartoonish buffoons and expect to be taken seriously. It's patronizing. If the writer believes in their "strong" character they wouldn't have dumb the others down to sell it.

This guys sounds like he also has one fucked up mother. While not a preferred situation, I was raised by a single mother that was nothing like what this guys describes. Sure, some of what he says rings true but to a far lesser degree. His mother sounds narcissistic or sociopathic, which is bad and can have these effects for both genders, father around or not.

I think you need to ponder what beliefs and aspects of your lifestyle you are not willing to compromise on (now and in the future) and then think about which of those will be in direct conflict with her uncompromising feminist ideals. If a lot of those line up then you two may be better off parting ways. If not, stay together, have a nice life and pepper in a few heated debates at the dinner table. Pros and cons my man, benefits and costs. Weighing them is the tough part.

We're not making a difference because most of us don't do anything. Myself included. I'm not casting stones. I'm as bad as any. The climate is inhospitable to our ideas which makes it incredibly hard to be open and active for this cause without alienating personal and more importantly, professional connections. Many people are standing up loud and proud of their MRA status and they should be celebrated but until we can get a foot in the door and ease up some of the hostility toward MRA's, most w…

Your daughter telling you this happened should be at least a tiny reason to think maybe it is true. Unless there is some proof it isn't you shouldn't jump to conclusions either way. Both your children deserve a fair chance. There is clearly an issue here. Either your daughter has some serious emotional issues she is dealing with in a very unhealthy way or your son is a rapist. Either way, as a parent you have to try to help them both not simply cling to denial turned to bitter resentment.

I don't know. This seems like backwards thinking. If we're talking about the states, the rest of the 1st world has turned away from this thinking and it's worked in their favor. Longer leave and better childcare are good for both mom, dad and child. I just had my first son and I'd say 3 months is not a great time to go back to work. Id wager the women that don't go back to work are those that feel the same and are in a situation where one partner can sustain the family.

Yes plug your ears, stomp your feet and scream "no one addressed a thing I said". Disagreeing with your opinion does not equate to a lack of understanding, or avoiding your point. Why is this where you end up? You say no one bothered to ask the back story. Now the issue is that the question wasn't asked with enough sympathy or from belief as the starting point? I don't know, I am ok with this. If it gets one more petty, inane talking point off the table that's good in my book. They want the same price, they have the same price. One less cardboard sign at a protest. Maybe once real issues are focused on then we'll see a leveling of the louder feminist voice and possibly a move towards an egalitarian standpoint.

ok, now you're just messing with me right? Am I just playing along with the troll? You asked a direct question. I gave you a direct and succinct answer stating my position. It applies to the topic we are addressing. It is in the context of this thread. It applies to your issues with this thread and the responses from men you have issue with in this thread. Yes a story of my experience to illustrate a point I am trying to make. A point that addresses your claim you say you've made 4-5 times. I don't agree it is sexism to question sexism. You've complained about men sharing their own experiences and insights into a situation the commentor shared. I'm not sure why this seems so off topic to you. I'm not certain why it's ironic you're a white man. I've not addressed race or sex of the holder of a belief. We're dealing with perceptions and perceptions are wholly biased and strongly unreliable as they completely depend on the window through which we view the world. For instance, I'm Jewish. I have had an interaction or two in my life in which I thought something may have been anti-semitic. I have friends who are so certain the world is anti-semitic that they have attributed many situations we have been in to the fact that people hate jews. Situations I felt the opposite of. The idea that men can have nothing to say about a claim of sexism or that whites can have nothing to say about a claim of racism is merely a technique to silence a discussion. If you think a woman's opinion is being invalidated, think of every man who deals with shit like this and has nothing to call it and nothing to blame it on. What is it when a man is treated unfairly at a job? You wouldn't qualify it as discrimination or oppression based on their sex so clearly it exists without sexism in c…

Women not only learn everything men learn through primary school, but are encouraged and emboldened far more than boys nowadays. We've been focused on empowering our girls for damn near 50 years. This is evident in the higher (and growing) rate of womens graduation, college attendance, outearning men in their twenties, occupying more supervisory roles in their twenties. Men have slipped in all of these categories in that time. Not to mention growing corporate preference for female hires. I'm not…

This is ok because it's a membership organization right? Does anyone know the legal details? I disagree with this in principal only because male only spaces usually end up being protested and sued when a female tries to join just to make a point. I have no idea what half of what you said means. I don't mean offense by that but you're using a lot of jargon I am ignorant of. BUT I get the gist. Nothing in my previous comment denies the existence of sexism. It questions whether THIS particular instance we are talking about is sexism. Again, this doesn't mean men don't want to date smart women as you claim. It means less educated men don't want to date women more educated than themselves. It may also mean women don't find less educated to be a viable option and smarter men to lack attributes women find attractive, i.e. athleticism or other aggressively masculine traits. And again, data shows that women in this pool have arrived there through life choices less intelligent women may not have made. We can go back and forth forev…

I'm actually arguing the opposite. The princess will fuck a prince. The stable boy doesn't want to date the princess because she's out of his league and it makes him insecure. The princess won't sit around wondering why it's so hard to get the stable boy to ask her out. Your analogies aren't straight. And I've only pointed towards studies that seek to back your argument, I then simply paid attention to the data and not the headline or a closed off world view.

There are plenty of highly educated, smart women that aren't crying alone at home right now. Do you have a source for your broad claim? What you're referring to is likely a study that is often quoted about men not wanting to "date up" in intelligence. It doesn't mean smart men don't want to date smart women, it means dumb men don't want to date a woman smarter than they are. Nor does it mean smart women don't get asked out on dates. It's not stating there was no danger. It states that subjects viewed varying situations of danger. Those who felt more threatened by the varying images viewed tended to prefer strong imposing males as a partner. This study has nothing to do with female paranoia and "false danger" as you say.
