Well..I thought it was pretty obvious that one of those things that you described has a biological basis, and the others are purely cultural. Unless you feel that women, as a species, somehow don’t deserve the same respect accorded men in re access to fulfillment of the same needs, ie shelter, healthcare, education..it’s possible, I guess, but it’s hard to believe.

Yes. People call the shots over the decisions they make regarding their own bodies. Woman are people. Yup. That’s right. You got it.

Such a good point, and well stated. Thanks.

Ok. I'm not addressing any of your issues here, because I realize you are not really capable of coherent thought. I will tell you that your statement about 'women's uniqueness and value(sic)is everything to do with having babies, otherwise they would be men' is so patently misogynistic and narcissistic as to be unbelievable. You make it apparent that women, in your view, don't really exist through any eyes but yours, and that is mind-blowingly fucked up. Women are just men that are capable of ha…

No ones 'demonizing' the word female. It's a fine, descriptive word. It is on my birth certificate. And that's exactly where it should be. But when do you ever refer to men as 'males'? Would you say,'Honey, I'm going out with the males tonight, won't be home till late..' That would sound weird. Because it is weird. Can you admit it's a little alienating? A little..hostile? Would you ever use it in casual conversation? It's all in the context. And this context was pretty obviously intentionally b…

Yes. Little guy? Could be a little female..yes, of course. I'm not a monster. I'm not advocating the killing of babies. I fully understand, and feel for, those who feel they're speaking for those without a voice. However. I am fully, 100% convinced that someone's body-anyone's body-does not become not-their-body if modified. Unless we're advocating slavery here, there are no circumstances wherein your body does not remain your body, with all that implies. It's really pretty simple. It's your bod…

Well, I actually don't think you have to reach too far to see it as reducing her. It's right there! It's deliberate, right? He was trying to reduce her, and he did. He used the term 'a guy' and the term 'a female'. That's pretty obvious, isn't it? Believe me, it would be lovely not to 'be like this'. To just be a person, in the world, without noticing how little things like this compromise my humanity. For right now, this whole shit about women not having access to safe abortions..well, that's m…

Yes, I think you're right, he was trying to convey a message, that was my point. Thanks for understanding. As far as my condescending tone, well, that was accidental. I was trying to remain neutral. But also I can be condescending as all get out. S'cuse. I just wondered if that was deliberate, or accidental, OP's use of the term 'a female'. And if he was aware of the difference. I suppose I could have paid more attention to the actual posting, not sure what was going on there. I'm still not. If …

No, not at the word, which is descriptive, but the context, which is loaded. I'm not sure if you're deliberately misunderstanding me, but I'm sure you're smart enough to pick up on the difference.

Yes, you're absolutely right, they're just words, simply words. But, please, can I just say this? When one belongs to a faction of society that almost constantly tells them-in economic ways, in societal ways, in political ways-that this faction is just not seen as having the same worth as another faction, well, it makes you sad, and angry, and super sensitive. As it should! If people were telling you, your whole life, that you don't deserve as much pay as someone else doing the same job, that yo…

Wait, I think you're misunderstanding me. The issue is not when one refers to women as 'female', obviously, women are female, men are male-but when one refers to someone as 'a female' vs 'a woman'. As in 'I met this women at a bar' vs 'I met this female at a bar..'Does that make better sense?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand why this has you so upset. Do you really, really think there's no difference between referring to someone as a 'woman' vs referring to her as 'a female'? Not 'female'-oh, maybe that's where we are misunderstanding each other, obv, women are female-but as 'a female', vs. 'a woman'.

I am what I am, Sir. Just passing along some neutral wisdom. I guess it's up to you how you refer to women. Would you refer to your mother as a 'female'? If so, under what circumstances?
/r/PussyPassDenied22/04/17 10:52 PM

Well, 'women' works, Sir. Not quite as loaded. Do you hear women refer to men as 'males'? There's a sort of clinical detachment to it. As if women were a different species, to be observed. It's incredibly offputting. But maybe that's the intent?

It's a loaded denomination, believe me. When women hear you refer to them as 'females', they know more about you than you may have intended.

Guys? Nothing says 'I'm scared of women but I'm pretttttty good at hiding it' like using the term 'female' when talking about women. Just saying.
