Where can I find evidence of your claim? I'm not disputing that there is a gendered sentencing disparity when it comes to criminal convictions in general, I'm disputing your claim that this is an example of such a case when I can't find any information on sentencing for this case.

I've looked for other articles related to this and there is no mention of a sentence. The mother has been charged but that's it. You can't claim that there is a disparity when a sentence hasn't even been handed.

I would imagine that promoting lung cancer research and awareness has been accomplished, no? I mean, we're at a point where we have warning messages on cigarette boxes and that it's common knowledge of how smoking has a causal relationship with increased risk of lung cancer. Unfortunately, as far as I know, we haven't been able to pin down the causal relationships of prostate and breast cancers to any sort of specific activities (although we have a few ideas of what could contribute).

Unfortunately, it's unrealistic to promote a generic "cancer research" fundraiser. This has to do with the fact that not all cancers are equal. In fact, there are so many ways in cancerous cells develop that it is much more effective to target specific ones. The leading killers are breast cancers for women and prostate cancers for men, therefore they take priority. A realistic solution is the equal promotion of awareness of BOTH cancers.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
