She told us that she was treated like crap as a <4 yr engineer. If most engineers <4 yrs aren't respected then it's not sexism is it? Again, I don't know her story but defending her anecdote by bashing other anecdotes is illogical and close minded.

None of the anecdotes are invalidating her opinion. They are sharing the perspective that men have similar experiences when joining the engineering workforce. It can be incredibly demoralizing and I don't fault anyone who leaves. Her personal story may be due to sexism but sounds like it probably isn't. We don't know for certain but it's important to consider the possibilities.
