10pm is a late night for me. How is your wife a parent and she doesn't understand basic sleep hygiene? You get up early, to get your 8 hrs you gotta go to bed at a responsible time. I get lamenting not getting to spend alone time due to your current schedules, but demanding you lose sleep is selfish. Even if she got the same amount of sleep as you and does just fine (some people only need 6hrs), doesn't mean that's how your body works, and your body is obviously not handling it well. You need mo…

I don't appreciate you escalating my comment. "Poorly handled" does not mean vile. And he had a chance to clarify by answering my comment with "that's exactly what I did", it wouldve been an easy win for him, but he chose to be defensive instead. To me that says I was on the right track and op knows he could've handled it more productively. And his response in the moment was perfectly understandable, he felt attacked and embarassed and so he defended himself. Eh, whatever, live and learn. I'm ju…

Sure, he could contact the person in charge of the safe space and ask for tips or guidance on how to establish one of his own. That's a great idea, hopefully op sees it.

And he should leave the safe space and send a polite message to the campus directors asking for an appt to discuss creating male safe spaces on campus. This is how adults do things.

Hmmm. Interesting point, what kind of space would you suggest for male victims of male violence (or female victims of female violence)? You're right, gender seg wouldn't work on that one. I thought op wanted a male space, which is cut and dry by comparison.

I'm pretty sure I read it right? Say youre a baseballer, and you stumbled into a footballers-only location, which is fine, it was an accident, but instead of apologizing and exiting, as one does when theyve made a mistake, you demanded to know where the baseballers-only location was and why isn't there one. Which is a silly thing to demand of the footballers. They aren't in charge of all the sports. The point being if you want a male space, advocate for one. Someone wanted a female space, so the…

This was poorly approached, imo. You made a mistake, which is fair, so apologize and leave. Then set to making male spaces following the processes for making safe spaces at that university. If you were in a male safe space and a woman came in and chose to go off about the lack of female safe spaces rather than leave, that would be in bad form, no?

Fr. I've had gay dudes say some absolut toxic shit to me, I'm not gonna stop supporting gay rights just cuz a few of them hurt my feelings. That's why the term ally is so annoying. It's transactional, patronizing, and one-sided. No, Im gonna support human rights regardless, and you don't have to persuade me by being nice to me. If a dog bites me I'm not gonna wash my hands of the whole shelter system. Wtf kind of mentality is that.

My feed is wild rn: a post where male coworkers are smearing shit on the women's bathroom seat to intimidate a woman out of her job A woman asking advice about a male client stalking her at work A woman who was happy she has a long history with antidepressants enough to tell that she was being roofied A woman who had to evade some dude stalking her on her way home last night And...this. eh, cest la vie

I think a lot of people value softness more than you know. You are wanted. You are appreciated. We live in a hard world, embrace whatever softness you can retain while surviving it. It makes you more valuable, not less.

I've heard it termed as "son of a whore" so I suppose it's sexist towards women if anything. The implication that the mother fucked unmarried being the cause of disrepute. But idk.

Just swapping the term to "misandrists say that...", and "misogynists say that..." makes a big difference in defining allyship. Also defying the shitty person's stance "this so-called feminist is outright spitting in the face of feminist ideologies" is a great take cuz it gives you power to define for feminists what feminism should be. And those who id as such can dogpile on with you.

Given his reasons,I doubt this angle would work...girls generally would rather cum faster, not last longer, girls don't have to hold their foreskin back or hold their urethra at all to pee, girls generally don't have an issue with smegma (though some do)... She'd be better off dispelling his preconceptions of life with foreskin since he seems to have trouble imagining it himself. Getting uncircumcised mens opinions about orgasm, peeing, and cleanliness would be a good start. And maybe womens opi…

Ha ha yeah, we could very well make it worse if we don't also change some cultural stuff. Right now we are used to a polygamy narrative, one man who is successful deserves many women. But I think we could alter that pretty quickly thru the media. Show successful witty charming mmmf relationships, people will see it and it'll normalize. Same with bisexuality. I wouldn't expect everyone to be poly but if we can skew the percentages even slightly we'd make a big difference. Edit: It just occurred t…

Remove homophobia, lotta men who are bisexual don't engage with other men because there's still a lot of friction there. And maybe not enforced polyamory, but simply making poly relations less taboo and providing the infrastructure for it (resources for communication, dealing with emotions, marriage and housing laws) would help. But also poly will not help if slut shaming for women and cuck shaming for men continues. women sleeping with multiple men would need to be seen as a desirable trait. An…

It's like that so often too, it's so annoying. if it's funny or functional then the men may be nude and the women must be clothed. If it's sexual (like an orgy, beach, party etc), then the women are more likely to be nude, and the focus is on the women. It's stupid any way you look at it. And that's nudity in America. Weaponized against us.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/08/22 06:39 PM

Because the same amount of skin is considered more sexual on a woman than it is on a man. You seem to be angry that they'd show men nude. I'm the opposite. The freedom of nonsexual nudity is something I'm always on the lookout for in the media. I see it very occasionally for women, and more often for men. Probably because the ratings differ between the two. Would be cool if people could just be functionally naked, without having to be sexual. And the media will play a huge role in normalizing it…

And remember this is all stuff people have been saying about men for decades. It's only fairly recently that it's been criticized, and even more recently that it's been gender swapped for women. Just shows that "biological" arguments are generally bs and can be manipulated to fit whatever narrative is trending. What I don't like is that stuff like this often conflates nonmonogamy with cheating. They fawn over "biological excuses" for wanting to be promiscuous, as though that explains cheating, b…

"to see who's in power in society, find out who you cannot criticize non-anonymously without significant repercussions" Super cool til you think about how this applies to literally anybody for anything the majority turns down. Edit: sure downvote me, till you see this posted in a nazi sub or pedophile sub. It feels all substantial till someone you disagree with uses it.

Well, fewer women will be comfortable having sex, and if you do get her pregnant now there's no out for either of you. Abortion isn't the guys call, but it certainly benefits everyone.

"Approached her kindly" you are conflating your chosen appearance (calm and kind) with what you were actually doing (demanding publicly that she acknowledge your inappropriate advances). She does not owe you a response. Not a "no, thank you", not anything. Pushing for one is entitled and rude at best. Predatory is probably how she sees it. Now she has to deal with you every time she goes to work. Way to fuck up someone's day. Also that bit about her later talking to other people in the gym, 1) y…

This is it right here, combined with the fact that she is "trapped" as an employee there so he's putting her in a spot. Also her lack of response WAS the answer. Him making sure she recieved the text was likely perceived as predatory and pushy, especially combined with him abusing the number and it being her place of work. He started with a bad move in a poorly chosen situation, and kept digging deeper. And is still considering digging deeper.

Just saw a post on r/sex from a guy who just found out his rapist might be pregnant...lotta support in the thread (though his options are teribly slim) and also a lot of people out there who just legit don't think it's possible for a woman to rape a man. Pretty much the male version of "the woman's body has ways to shut that thing down". Pretty cray.

I'm curious how the people in this group would consider implementing parental release. Like what would the steps look like? What "special cases" do you forsee (such as the rape case stated above) and would those be solved any differently? I've tried to think thru this multiple ways and would love to hear more ideas.

Huh. I wasn't saying it's cool to think men are "broken women". I was saying it's a interesting way to describe how others might view men to ascribe their subsequent actions towards the gender as a whole. Does that really need explaining? Fr? Like obviously it's not ok to view men as broken women....

It is what happens when a space is made to exclude a certain kind of person. The issues everyone has with that kind of person are discussed without as much inhibition, and they're gonna be discussed more often because it's the onky space where that discussion is encouraged. Womens subs talk about men. Mens subs talk about women. Gay subs talk about straights. Black subs talk about whites. That's just how things work. "off the spectrum" subs exist for any one of these groups, where the conversati…

Yeah, retaliation against men for sex offender claims is disproportionate for sure. I was specifically mentioning laws that ban female chests, in response to the original comment.

I mean, its happened, and it gets messy. It's kinda comical to read the rationale they go thru as they try to decide what counts as a "female aereola" It's not really a debate tho. The legal imbalances mentioned in the above comment are for real, nobody is debating that. But I'd hate for them to be inaccurate with their last statement too.

I guess it would be a more accurate analogy if the fed law doesn't apply in NYC, but also people will still try to turn you in and you may have to go to court over it, depending on what charges the police gave you. Like the draft "technically" doesn't exist but the po can find an adjunct charge if they don't like what you're doing. (To be clear, this is a hypothetical, do not go to NYC to dodge the draft unless you intend to cruise right up into canada)

Nudity laws are disparate between genders, if you want one. A woman could serve up to three years in jail for wearing the same amt of clothing a man does. Not trying to detract, but you said you couldn't think of one. There it is.

No wonder mental health is such a big mens issue if all this support keeps getting shut down. I kin hard with her defensiveness talking to mras. I spend so much of my life hearing how dumb women are, how weak, how slutty, how they should be subordinate to men. I encounter men pretty often on my job who make sure to remind me of my place in the world. I see the trend of conservative politics and how frightening those implications are. I am harassed, intimidated. I read stories of sexual harassmen…

Honestly, it's gonna take a while before I've solidified this enough to make a decent post about it. I've got a lot of reading to do. Usually when I see feminism mentioned in men's subs it's super petty (women get alllll the bennies in society etc). OR...its super woke (mens lib, anyone?). Neither actually address mens issues in a way that conducive to forming solutions. I'm just glad I read your post. Thanks for your post, I've got some thinking to do. Feminism has done some really awesome stuff (yay, I have birth control, kind-of access to abortion, I'm not the property of my husband, I can own property and make a wage, and almost do any job I want to, lgbtq has personhood now, rigid gender roles are slowly fading away, policing modesty is less of a thing), and there's still more stuff to fix. But kind of seems like it's corrupt and has been so for a while now. So it might be time to let go …

I'm with you. I've always gotten angry at "feminists" who aren't at all feminist. But that's as far as I took it. Now I'm kind of like why use the term if it can be so easily adulterated and abused. Is it worth fighting and saying you're not a feminist, or is it better just to let it go and move forward. A world without feminism scares me. I don't want to slide backward to how women used to he treated. So, ugh. Screw those people fucking up feminism for the rest of us.

Dude that was well written thanks. So now I'm kind of seeing feminism (or I guess Big Feminism) as more like the democratic party...they do bad shit, but they're better than the alternatives. Egalitarianism is a personal choice, as far as I know, not a system of social structures that gets stuff done. Guess I'm still feeling pretty lost here. And I don't actually know what Big Feminism does, since I assumed they do the stuff I agree with. But then again, I disagree with a lot of "feminists" onli…

It's a weird spot to be in, I am a feminist, always have been, but then I hear stuff like this and I'm like, if that's feminist, Im NOT that, so what am I? Do I insist my viewpoints are feminism and everything else is a lie, or do I subscribe to a different group?

Gay men challenge the social order more than gay women. They upset the idea that being a man means trying to be as unwomanly as possible. het men (the drivers of sexuality in society) don't want to fuck them like thwy want to fuck gay women, so gay men threaten everyone's manliness and are also unfuckable. I imagine that's annoying. Also, open gayness reminds men that they can be targets. Gay women don't have that effect. Men are threatening. And a man who likes to fuck men? Terrifying for someo…
