I know this sounds nuts but learn a little bit about gambling on sports. Spreads/Over Unders/Teasers - you can put $5 on a game and be incredibly interested in it and that will force you to watch the games. I'm not sure what country you live in, but basketball is a universally played sport so that might be a good starting point.
