The world teaches boys (and then men) to happily ignore any cognitive dissonance and wholeheartedly believe that they're right all the time.

I've found this about a lot of artists. They will have a handful of songs that I can get behind, but then ONE of the lines will be something weirdly pickme and I can't NOT focus on it from that point onwards.

Love this post. I noticed myself relying too much on texts with all the major players in my life (granted, this is largely because of covid circumstances) and took action. Established recurring video calls, phone calls, or meet ups with various loved ones. Luckily I'm at a point where I've purged the emotional vampires from my inner circle, but it was a gradual process for sure. There is something to be said for having scheduled solitary time; you need to remember that you are the main character…

Are men actually so fragile that they think they're being personally victimized when they're autobanned? That's incredible.

Something about this exchange really struck me, so I wanted to tell you that you have a lovely vibe as well. Both of you! I think prioritizing establishing a strong inner circle of female friends and family members is really important. And on top of all the enrichment they provide, they can help you vet men. Why shouldn't the vetting process involve your inner circle's opinions? And you can only do that if you've really worked on cultivating an inner circle first. It was something I think I was …

Whenever you find yourself horrified, disgusted, or disappointed in the men around you, remind yourself that there women who are much more deserving of your time and attention. So once you get over the initial shock of men, try to redirect yourself. Helping women, talking to women, lifting up other women will almost certainly bring you some sense of peace. And that is WAY better than feeling horrified, disgusted, and disappointed.

Don't waste your time. If you refrain from responding to them, it is the other person who has wasted their time. They are starting from a place of waste. Let them sit. Surround yourself with people who want to see you succeed.

I've been wanting to jump ship from reddit for so long but FDS has kept me here. I thought maybe the discord group was my ticket out, but the verification process has been a huge barrier for me. Discord as an app is fine, but the FDS group requires a lot of security layers to protect the group from men. I have no problem with how protective it is, but the voice verification step seems to only happen once in a blue moon and I've been waiting for months to no avail. Still, hope to get in at some…

I like the sanctity of women sharing their experiences and ideas with each other without any irrelevant people forcing their way into the conversation. A steady stream of female voices is so pleasant. I really like the length of the podcast too. Really hits the spot.

I wanted to do more than just upvote. What she said!! ^ Especially if you have very specific needs from a pet (like avoiding certain breeds, as you mentioned), a breeder is your best option. With shelter dogs, you do not know what you are getting. Good breeders are expensive but I think the cost barrier to entry is a good thing; it makes you double check that you are financially prepared, and hopefully emotionally prepared too.

Only women are able to protect other women like this. We are the ones that notice, we are the ones that care.

Men like hurting women. Whether it is because they enjoy ignoring women's pain in favor of their own gratification (sexual or not), or because they are truly sadistic, it's true. If they didn't like hurting women, they would actively avoid it and actively dissuade the men around them from hurting women.

It seems like you ladies aren't having any trouble coming up with episode ideas nor filling up the episode time, but if that ever happens in the future, might I suggest a little FDS handbook segment? I realize all the information is there to peruse for anyone, but people might be listening to the podcast without having much engagement here on reddit (and even of those who engage here, I wonder how many have really read the handbook).

I could talk about my HVM, assure you he exists and all of that. But I want you to focus on being okay with being alone. Those who have the most social capital (men) sell us this lie that the right man is out there, because that lie benefits them. That lie does not benefit us; it makes us feel desperate. The right guy is not necessarily out there. There are not that many men in the world who are high-value enough for any woman, let alone you specifically. You need to be okay with not finding a m…

Gonna go against the grain here and say there is no real reason to be friends with any men. They can be distant acquaintances, but if you are doing emotional labor for them as a friend, just know that men will most likely not return it in equal amounts (or at all). The time you invest in male friendships would be much better spent on female friendships. Women have a higher ROI.

Always have separate accounts that individually do not hold information that can uniquely identify you. I might mention I'm blonde and 28 years old in one account, mention I live in Virginia and enjoy hiking with my two Australian shepherds in another. But not too many details together in one account. Also, try adding little white lies here and there to throw someone off your trail. Men are creeps, men are stalkers, they fucking suck! Also, there are multiple places online where reddit comments …

I've found that I am ripping apart all the media that I consumed prior to internalizing FDS values. It feels good, it feels right, and it makes us more selective about the media we let into our minds/bodies!

I strongly agree. From my experience most men (a numerical majority; >50%) do not practice basic empathy. Regardless of what diagnosis they would receive from an honest psychologist, these men serve me no purpose. They do not make good friends, they do not make good partners, they add nothing to my world. They're useless at best (and violently dangerous at worst).

I hope FLUS becomes more active! I've noticed an uptick in activity in the last few months. I like that the focus is not at all on men there. FDS is admittedly centered around dating so the majority of content here is limited in scope. I wish there was more FLUS content here since it's the bigger subreddit! No sure if it's allowed. Maybe there could be a day of the week dedicated to it, in the same way that we have meme-free Mondays?

If a man doesn't want children (yet or at all), but wants the privilege of having sex, he should get a vasectomy. Any decent, empathetic man would do this instead of putting his lady through this bullshit.

sex is a very important part of a mature relationship He's trying to scare young girls into thinking that their age-inappropriate (pedo) partners won't want them if they behave "immaturely". You know what's mature? Waiting to have sex until your partner is comfortable with it. i'm not talking about good sex/bad sex because that can be learned. i'm talking about compatibility You can tell if you're compatible without having sex. Are you sexually attracted to him? Does he have a body type that you…

Yeah 9 times out of 10 I will want to help a pickme to some minimum extent. Even simply telling them offhandedly about some radfem/FDS values is worth it to me. If none of us help them even a little bit, what is their chance of escaping the pickme mentality? This subreddit is a tiny spot on the vast internet. They are otherwise surrounded by patriarchal values. I want to expose them to something different because it doesn't cost me anything. But then I have taught myself to not get invested in o…

Men are disgusting. How the fuck are SO many of them like this?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/04/21 03:47 PM

When the world is full of people who don't respect you and even actively want to see you fail, just because you're a woman and they have patriarchal values, it is crucial to surround yourself with people who have better values. Seek out people who respect you. This friendship doesn't seem to be serving you well (or at all) so I think cutting contact is the right option. Sending you positive thoughts! It's difficult but worth it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/04/21 01:36 PM
13

Yeah I agree with this. I think the bitterness from most pickmes is due to lack of exposure to radfem/FDS values, being constantly under the thumb of patriarchal values, and a lack of introspection. I wish better for them.

This is supremely disappointing. Why are men?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/04/21 12:55 PM

Tbh even if it's not true that all men either want to fuck you or use you as free emotional labour, they just have a lower ROI than women. Women make much better friends because we actually give back what we receive. It is a joy to lift other women up.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/04/21 08:19 PM

I think the point is that they may think of you in a romantic context. And even if they don't they may be using you as emotional sponge, exacting emotional labour from you, while providing absolutely fuck-all in return.

But in heterosexual relationships, this doesn't account for other gender differences in the relationship. There's the obvious issue of childbearing, childbirth, and childrearing if a couple wants children. If they don't want children, the woman is likely shouldering the brunt of contraception, not to mention the stress associated with pregnancy and STD risk. Add to this the pink tax as well as the expectation of women to spend a lot more on beauty- and health-related good and services. Salary-wi…

Thank goodness for FDS. As I see more and more depraved shit on reddit like a pedophile getting hired as an admin (and let's be honest, how is one a pedophile apologist without being a pedophile themselves?), I'm preparing to jump ship at a moment's notice. I'm so glad FDS has its own website. Maybe I'm rephrasing what you said, but I wanted to mention something regarding the men posting in feminine hobby subreddits. Please don't apologize for the rant. It is a well-written comment. I agree I don't enjoy when men get disproportionately upvoted in those subreddits. This: I think that a lot of women feel genuinely validated when a man likes stereotypically feminine things. It’s like, they feel that men in their spaces legitimatize their interests, and they feel like their interests suddenly matter when men are participating. They also feel like the man is “lowering” himself to their level by engaging in these …

I agree! Especially this tidbit: Don’t be tempted to spill your guts and confide in him by telling him all your hopes and dreams and deepest, darkest secrets. Again, this builds false intimacy. True intimacy can only be developed over time. True for anyone, but especially for the men you meet. Don't let anyone into your inner circle for free. Wait for them to prove their honesty, loyalty, and kindness. It is a waiting game, among other things.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/04/21 10:45 PM

Yes. Men have just as much of an ability as anybody to play verbal games. They're not socially stupid, they're socially manipulative. Malicious.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/04/21 03:59 PM

Importantly: treat yourself extremely well. Not necessarily by booking trips and such, but definitely by achieving good mental health and unshakable self-esteem. That way you will only accept a man in a romantic context if he treats you just as well (or ideally better) than you treat yourself.

Good on you for trying to get into therapy! I wish you all the best. <3 The healthy love I am experiencing right now is calm, predictable, and trusting. Very occasionally there are moments of excitement and intensity, but overall we have reached a steady state. When we have disagreements, it is calm and quiet and we both want to come to a conclusion that is fair and satisfying for the other. I think that would be great for those of us who've been around for a while, but for new users who aren't fully convinced of the value in FDS, I feel like at least some of the horrible negative crap that gets posted here is necessary to see. Yeah it's disappointing to see so many posts like that. It's a waste of our time to respond to such things at all. That time is better spent on focusing on ourselves. I'm glad that meme-free Monday exists now, but when every other day this subreddit is clogged up with that stuff, I don't really want to look at it. But, I get it, it's a necessary rude awakening for people who aren't aware of how many LVM are out there and how they behave.
