2	Vasectomy can lead to castration My dad had had a vasectomy in the 70's, and never had any complications from it. But... My father died from complications of hip surgery. Surgery: June 2nd 2010, Died: June 22nd 2010 (he was 74). I would never, ever discourage anyone from having hip surgery just because my dad died from it.
