To be completely honest, I'm not sure I want to know the theories. Some of them seem are very sound, but some of them are/have the potential to be completely misguided. As long as we all know how we got here, what needs fixing, and are happy to try and fix it, then that's all that really matters. Hahahahahahha, again with the America. You are not the only country in the west. Jeeez. A lot of America seems a bit worked up, y'all need to chill out. I know American feminists make an argument about …

Ehh. Not in the sense that there used to be. There are perhaps localized patriarchies (If you can call them that. I think it's just a word used to rile people up), like in the film and television industry where 95% of directors are men, etc. But I do agree that nowadays, women aren't property, we can marry who we like (in most cases) and are allowed to read and write and go to school, so that kind of patriarchy is no longer in existence. And thank you. I'm a fairly blunt person, and if I end up …

Ahh, I was not aware of the lifetime vs. 12 month difference, thank you. Is that actually true? That is astonishing! I've never thought of it that way. I'll obviously have to go and look up stuff to see if it is true, but if you're right, then that is really interesting. I feel it is pedantic to point out, but while men are apparently the majority of rape victims, they are also the majority of the rapists. I think it would be beneficial to introduce something that would explain to women that act…

Why do I have to be defending something? Do you think I came in to your subreddit to pick fights? I can assure you that I didn't. I'm really interested in your opinions and thoughts, and most of you make some really valid points. I'm just interested in having civil discussions with people to gain perspective in an area where I have none. I wasn't aware that that was something to be frowned upon.

Haha, that's okay. I expected a bit of down voting. :]

Ah, that's a fairly good point. I'm shit at figuring out statistics, but I'm sure that the number of rapes via envelopment doesn't dilute the perpetrators of rape against men to less than fifty percent. I do agree that envelopment is rape, so the stats you've provided are probably more accurate. Thanks for the other study. :]

Haha, this is a very good point, well made.

This is interesting. But I'm just wondering if you all have selective sight. While there wasn't an estimated number of victims for the last twelve months for the men, in the lifetime category, Women have 21,840,000 victims, where as men have 1,581,000. And do you know what? 93% of male rape victims were raped by a man. Compared to the 98% of female rape victims being raped by men. In terms of other sexual assault, the numbers are a little more even in terms of gender, 79% women in made to penetr…

Really, no chance? Are you able to get inside the minds of rapists? I understand it's pointless if it doesn't change anything, but you can't claim that it hasn't influenced anyone when you can only know how you yourself react to it. I'm sorry you feel insulted. I went on their web-site and some of their objectives seemed a bit weird, so that was annoying. I didn't know that Women in the U.S are more violent to children than Men in the U.S. Because that's all that study is. You're not accounting …

I would like to see some proof of this before agreeing to it (not saying it's not true, just keen to see some evidence :]). Are you talking about just in the U.S, because you're not the only country in the world. I think that world-wide, more rapes would be committed by men, but this is just a guess, so I could be horrendously wrong.

But rapists don't want to stop rape. That is why they rape. And when people don't have a full understanding of what rape actually is and what counts as rape, and so commit it without realizing (obviously this goes for women too, because some of us are capable of being fucked up weirdos). Isn't it better to teach people not be rapists than worry about hurting someone's feelings? It should be shameful to be a rapist.

Just wondering, how is "Men can stop rape" a fear mongering campaign? I'm genuinely curious about the male perspective on this.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
