Yes, and if you do this, you’re objectifying them—and it interrupts any real connection that may have been developing. Also if everything reflects back onto you, that’s the hall of mirrors and you are a narcissist. No one else even exists in that world. Other people are human beings.

Umm. I don’t even know where to start. I feel like this is the most insane rant I have ever read but for someone who “doesn’t like transactional relationships,” you certainly objectify women and consider every detail of every possible transaction. I disagree with virtually every word you have written, but this is a values issues. Humans are not commodities, bro. This was gross to read.

I believe I read that in the book “His Needs, Her Needs.” I’m sure there’s a reference. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=his+needs+%2F+her+needs&i=stripbooks&adgrpid=56844594915&hvadid=580830017191&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9032935&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=3124209033327043341&hvtargid=kwd-338632395483&hydadcr=15152_13523060&tag=hydsma-20&ref=pd_sl_7raokp2xr6_e

Well, please give us an update down the road. If he never initiates, that’s also revealing an issue with him. At least he is coming to you with honesty. I hope you and your husband are able to communicate and solve this.

Yes, agreed, and I notice the person you’re replying to, while they state up and down they have all this empathy, aren’t capable of this level of perspective taking. IME anyone who has to talk about how empathetic they are, isn’t empathetic. It’s something you show, not tell. Like the classic, “Trust me.” People who inspire real trust don’t have to say it.

Yes, I have heard of sex therapists putting testosterone patches on women (with consent) just so women can feel what it’s like to walk around with that much testosterone in their system. And women are shocked beyond belief to realize that the male sex drive really is that different and stronger. It’s not an excuse for men to cheat but a woman deprioritizing sex to this degree is not healthy in a marriage. It really makes me feel there are deeper root issues here.

Yeah, I agree. This is an incredibly dismissive and invalidating response that borders closely on emotional abuse. It’s a very unempathetic and dehumanizing response.

If you care about your marriage and husband (and children), you should make time for sex. Once a week is super minimal. Once a month is begging for infidelity or divorce. I don’t think childcare is a valid excuse; I think it’s a justification.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
