I’m like this. I’m just naturally not a clean person. I’ve found the Flylady system helps a lot. It’s all about building good habits and routines, and breaking big tasks down into manageable chunks. I can’t clean 2 hours straight, but I can do anything 15minutes at a time!

I find playing the 18th century ‘fainting lady’ when I’m sick seems to bring out the sympathy in my husband. Being sick is kinda gross, so I try to do everything to minimize that. Take long hot bubble baths, maybe even ask him to bring you a cup of tea. Put on a nice long silky gown or robe and lay in bed with a book., or better yet lay on the couch with your head in his lap. Try to go into the bathroom and cover the sound of any of the ‘bodily functions’ that are normal to illness. Coughing up …

B12 and vitamin D. I’m a lump without them, but with them I’m able to be reasonably productive. It’s not anti-aging, but keeping yourself active and healthy is just as important, if not more important to being a good partner.

How long have you been friends for? Is it someone you’ve known a long time? Or is it someone you only made friends with because you were romantically interested? Are you capable of being friends with this person even if they get a romantic partner? Or will you be jealous and hurt? Are you able to trust yourself to say ‘no’ if this person asks for a ‘friends with benefits’ situation? Or would you give in in hopes it turns into a relationship? If you’re very close with this person AND trust yourse…

This is harsh and probably won’t be taken well here, but I’m in a marriage that’s picture perfect except for repeated infidelity by my husband. He’s wonderful in every other way. But it’s destroyed my mental health, I’m constantly paranoid, I cry daily just randomly, I’m so depressed, I’ve started hating everything about myself. It’s the most miserable thing I’ve ever endured. I wish I had left the first time he ever hinted at being unfaithful, before we were even married. I wish I had walked aw…

I don’t really care in general. If I see a man in the grocery store with nail polish, it doesn’t bother me but it doesn’t excite me either. However, I’d think it a little unattractive if my husband started doing it… though a good manicure and some clear polish I don’t think would be bad. Clean, smooth hands are attractive on everyone I think.

You aren't doomed, but you have a lot of work to do. As others have suggested, therapy can be very helpful. It's important to identify the cause of this behavior so you can avoid it in the future. Otherwise, history is doomed to repeat itself. It could be insecurity, trauma, a vice of some sort, many things. You have to sort that out first. While you're doing this, I'd recommend giving up sex, in all of its many forms. Sex can attract a man initially, but it won't keep a good one around very lon…

This is true. There does seem to sometimes be a difference if the expense of gifts given between husbands and wives, even when both parties work. However, I'm not sure selfishness and gold digging explains this entirely. For one, most of the men in my life (husband, brother, father, etc.) Tend to be the type to buy themselves what they want when they want it. I think this has to do with how practical men are. They see it, they want it, they buy it. Simple. Women on the other hand tend to like so…

While home digging and expecting a man to spend money on you lavishly is unreasonable, I don't think wanting basic financial support is wrong. Helen Andelin wrote in Fascinating Womanhood that the only two things a wife is entitled to are fidelity, and financial support. I tend to agree with this sentiment. Being a truly good wife and/or mother can be a full time career in it's own right. Of course this doesn't mean anyone is entitled to lots of money, or expensive gifts, but a roof over you and…

You've been on 3 dates only. If you don't think things will work out, there's nothing wrong with moving on. Strong relationships are built on acceptance and admiration. It doesn't sound like you feel those things towards him. You even say his personally makes you less attracted to him. That could be a serious problem long term. If your goal is marriage, it's important to choose someone you can be happy with the rest of your life. If you're having second thoughts after only date three, I don't th…
