I think social media and the FOMO in todays age has something to do with the ending of relationships too. My stbx is constantly comparing our relationship to things she has seen/seeing in social media.

Nah I have to disagree with you there. We’re both on page for 50/50. We want nothing less for either of us

Damn I love this answer. Does this come from personal experience?

I agree with most of what you said. I would just be worried about the kiddos gone so far away from me for a week, but I guess I’ll be having them on and off once the divorce is final so I’d have to get used to that as well. My stbxw won’t take the kids from me, so I’m not worried about that. I was referring to the trip, not in general. She understands the healthy needs they have to have me around. Trust me, she’s of mostly reasonable intelligence. I won’t need a lawyer for them.

I mean it is awkward. Maybe I’ll stay. I was just trying to keep the peace

Which is my thoughts as well. That would be such a bad idea.

Wish it was that simple. I would, but I can’t walk out on my kids right now. I don’t really have a place to go until we settle the arrangements

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
