1	What do men mean when they want a “submissive” wife? “Deference is power” is a common negotiation saying. The idea is that when you defer, you are not giving up power like you said. You’re giving it. The important variable here is that it’s your choice to give and you don’t always have to defer. So when someone who is used to your deference doesn’t get it because you withheld it, well… perhaps they need your deference and you now have leverage over that person. Consider our legal system.
