True story: Had a Social Studies teacher that wore a pretty sizable class ring with a giant ruby in it. If you were mouthing off or being a shit during class, he'd walk around the desks while he talked, sneak up behind the offender, turn the ruby ring down to face his palm, and slap the back of your head with that thing.
