Status is your place in a social hierarchy that is a shortcut to who you would bet on in a conflict. It is a stand in for actual conflict so we are not at each others throats all the time. Basically almost all mammals play fight as children. When they are adults they can intuitively estimate "if we would fight, who would win?" When there is a conflict of interest, unless the group intervenes, the one who would win is declared to be in the right by default. This way the fight doesnt escalate and …

If you look at a snapshot in time you will always see that the single % matches (unless you have polygamy, or in this case when looking only at certain age segments). The question is who do the women enter a relationship with when they stop being single? Are a different 31% of women on the bench until they are rotated back into a relationship with the lucky 69% of men, while the perpetual single 31% of men are watching? The data doesn't tell. Anecdotally men report they are always more sought af…

What? I meant specifically his sentence at 1:27:05when he says if you want to stand out across a sea of faces to get the job you need to stand out. Your chance to get the job don't come from random draw. Viewing the game as a numbers game reduces your chances at winning.

One way I have heard it put is nobody likes to be old himself. Unless you take very good care of yourself you can get all kinds of problems. Achy knees, less stamina and strength, worse sleep, less energy, less mental acuity, dental problems, slightly weaker erections even. There are literally no upsides, getting old just sucks. If you could push a button and be 17 or 25 again, or whatever you consider young right now, everybody would take it. So if you don't want it in yourself why would you wa…

Yes, but doesn't that make you think? Just because something is common doesn't make it good or healthy. 80% of women never get raped. (Tbh that is still a staggeringly high number, but it should be clear without question that the majority never experiences rape in their life.) Of those 20% that do, only 50% get raped once, so roughly 10% of women. The last 10% get raped multiple times. Revictimization is very real. This is a strange power law where 5.9% of women make up 65.4% of sexual assault v…

One pet theory I have is that humans evolved for mild polygyny in groups that don't get bigger than 150 people. That means you only have 75 other people of the opposite sex in the group and you know where each one stands in terms of social status. There are no other people in the world. We can see that in practice in some tribes in Africa and I guess some college campuses. Each woman has her own house and sometimes gets a nightly visit by a man who is attractive to her. So the most popular guys …

If that happened even once to you that is tough. I feel sorry for your lot. I have a friend who got raped. The event itself and prosecuting the guy was pretty jarring to her life. It shook her, damaged her relationship and she had to take a sabbatical break before she could go on with her studies. If something like that happened to you I really hope you have a similar support network of people to fall back on, it is brutal. But since apparently nobody owes anybody any empathy: If it happens more…

If you have empathy it hurts you to see someone else in pain. In person you can see that by people mirroring the facial and body expressions when someone gets to the painful parts of the story, because they can relate. The most basic form is everybody flinching when they see someone get hit in the crotch. Online this is harder, but it basically involves agreeing that something hurts or saying something like "ouch" or "whelp" without devolving into therapy speak of reading like a PR statement. Tb…

You are mixing correlation with causation. Men who have a lot of social status get easier access to sex, but having sex doesn't bestow any social status. You aren't below her because you didn't have sex, you didn't have sex because you are below her. This is what men mean when they say "don't put sex on a pedestal". It is not that you shouldn't care about sex, in fact nobody cares whether you had any sex ever, are asexual or not, etc. But if you focus on having to have sex to be successful you w…

Same age. If I had told my 19 year old self, or even my 25 year old self my life so far I would have killed myself for sure. By now it is clear this is not a problem of individual effort, it is systemic. Birthrates around the world go down in every culture. If I didn't have nephews I would probably nope out, but we still have decades of healthy years where we can make progress in solving this and giving something that is better to futures generations than what was handed to us.

What makes you think that? They would wear horny goggles more often, but why would it change the nature of their selectiveness? This is a misunderstanding in the red pill that gets mirrored by the blue pill which I have the biggest gripe with. The lingo of "sexual market place" and "mate value" makes it sound like it is just a problem of supply and demand. And you just insinuated if men got more attractive, dressed nicer and put on a fancy cologne, or if they went on sex strike and supplied less…

It' s not jealousy, it's envy. https://youtu.be/Tmx1jpqv3RA Most men do not worry about their partners ex unless the ex is still in the picture, that's a woman thing. They just want what the ex had in spades. They measure their partners behavior against their past actions, and it worries them.

I edited my post. Maybe to drive my point in a different way: Henry Cavil is a bad example because his business is a personal brand. Since "heavy workout" is coded as hard manual labor we are informed more about his workout routine than his skincare routine, but it is obvious he has both. He is an absolute outlier which makes him good to showcase some social mechanics, but this is not one. We can not reason with him as example because the n=1 experiment of Henry Cavill already happened. Is he so…

I am not quite sure what it is you are saying. I have difficulties making out your reasoning, because "if it would work, everyone would do it" is a strange cope when we have so much evidence. The effect of sunscreen is well studied, can be grasped intuitively, and is well illustrated with examples of people who have aged skin in areas where they had lots of sun vs areas with no sun exposure. And that's not just a blood marker being higher or lower. It is a big effect in terms of skin elasticity,…

Self estimations do not come from within though. If you estimate yourself wrong people will just call you arrogant. If you estimate yourself as uncertain because you have no experience people will deflect and say you need to love yourself first 🥰 or some bs. You can not have a healthy relationship with the other gender without socializing with the other gender. Waiting until you have proper self esteem, a job, or whatever is en vogue at the moment just sets you up for failure.

Most of the women in my family attend/attended all-girl schools. Most of men attend/attended all-boy achools. I personally find that educating boys and girls separately at that age can be a very good thing. And did that help them in any metric? Are they in healthy relationships now? I've witnessed the reverse. It immediately sets social skills to zero with the other gender and turns them into a prize. You can watch it happening in real time with people going to a STEM school.

Lady, you are filling a slot because that is what you do. You don't want a man who depends on you. You don't want a man for whom you are the best option. You don't want a man for whom you provide emotional labour. You select against people who would have a reason to commit to a relationship with you. The only men who would want what you want, with you, are those so similar to you they want to LARP as a woman.

Peak in their sexual market value relative to the sexual market value of women their age, ie how difficult do your peers make dating for you. And that is if they spend their 20s preparing all areas of their life for this. People who say "I am in the best shape of my life" like that social media person either promote themself or pissed away their 20s because of bad/no advice and mentorship. What I hate about the "every 10 minute" slogan is it is used to take numbers out of perspective. If you actually cared about public welfare you would see that people kill themselves 20 times more than women die to intimate partner violence: Here is what I quickly came up with AI: 1. Partner Homicide Statistics (Actual Numbers) The "every 10 minutes" statistic is a global figure. Ok "Matriarch", which way is the causation going? Is it the happiest country, is doing well, and has pretty decent social welfare structures because it is "women-led"? Or did they elect a woman figurehead instead of a strongman because it is the happiest country, doing well and has pretty decent social welfare structures? The question is rhetorical, I just wanted to put the thought in your head so you can reflect on yourself. We do have the answer through studies after the brexit: cuts to social…

Not everbody is demisexual, in fact demisexual people are the exception to the rule that people are very attuned to how someone looks and behaves. There are no words I can find that would convince you of how far removed your point of view is from the commonly shared reality. You should talk about this with someone IRL you trust so they can give you some insight.

That makes sense for a single instant, but if you are not a mormon you will see that across time the average doesn't change but the median does. I had a friend who had a different girlfriend every year for 5 years, with a few months between them. Those girls took years to get over the way he broke up with them. And then there is the problem that there are more men than women, which makes a 1:1 ratio impossible: Until 45 there are always more unmarried men than women, then men start dying. https:…

Address the point: The reason there is a statistical difference can be explained by the hormonal difference. Ask any MTF or FTM, there is a difference. The problem stems from you and other women ignoring this and just casting the blame (as responsiblity) on men. The men who perform are good, those that don't get shamed. Believe me, men know. I am a fan of attachment theory. One consequence of the theory is that people with secure attachment (mostly people who not only only didn't get neglected/abused by their parents but who actually had good role models) get into lasting relationships with partners that also have this attachment style. And they then have healthiest relationships and are usually out of the dating market. So it is very unlikely that people finding themself single in their 30s or 40s have this healthy attachment style…

There is thing called the overjustification effect: pay people and they lose intrinsic motivation. For example when children have fun drawing pictures and you start paying then they suddenly lose their intrinsic motivation to have fun creating something with a pencil. It shifts to a motivation to extract the most $ out of the situation. I see "standards" in the same light. Imagine you use every sexual experience you have with a person as an opportunity to report back to your friends, they then a…

If someone wants to have sex with you then you are by definition sexy. You just don't feel sexy because when you point your internal camera at the situation the movie wouldn't be something you would want to post on Instagram or pornhub. Some issues are not societal though. My problem is clearly dismissive avoidant attachment. But if you only look at it from a gender studies perspective the description of someone with dismissive avoidant attachment reads just like toxic masculinity. The difference is that if someone diagnoses you with toxic masculinity their first line of advice is just "stop it" and "see women as people". Attachment theory on the other hand is actual psychology, 100 years in the making, with twin studies and ev…

You underestimate how much men are ready to defer to their gf. Only a few are willing to let politics, religion or even a desire for offspring get in the way of a good relationship. Height on the other hand is not only immutable, it is something you can sell yourself on to some women Also you are misunderstanding how this works. People don't list their own dealbreakers, they list what they are unable to compromise on.

That's rage bait content. Those women are not selected randomly. Tbh for me it is the other way round, I fear women shutting down their vagina and witholding intimacy to get leverage when the road gets bumpy. I see my parents have a marriage without any affection. Having had sex at young age is the best predictor for which partner wants more sex, but promiscuity is also good. Or just look at deadbedrooms, they often list warning signs they ignored. But it is patently untrue. We have the whole enthusiastic, verbal consent debate because the opposite is true. My take is neurodivergence doesn't complicate too much how you deal with individual people 1on1 if they can fit you in, but it retards you adapting to interactions that are ruled by conventions (i.e. small talk) and might ruin your dealing with group interactions (important for not just being funny but popular). It is also a natural form of preselection bias. This can go both ways, in highschool my aloof demeanor made me way popular than I should have been. But as neurodivergent you are bad at c…

Clearing the bar does not mean you get what you want as a prize (sex/a relationship), it just means you fulfilled the standard society holds you to. Women have an interest in relationships with men, big difference. Men want to understand women so they can manipulate them properly. Women on the other hand already have theories put forth by relationship experts and psychologists on how men should behave and try to force men into that. I see it best modeled as infinite game of prisoners dilemma. You need players that act in good faith but you also need to punish and shame bad behavior. Men mostly try to cooperate and act in good faith like an autist. Women seem to be more cunning, but they also shame and police their own gender more. I don't think that is biological though, in Arab societies it seems flipped.

I, as a man, grew hair down to my elbows just so I can judge this argument. I did it by not going to the hairdresser during COVID, wasn't that hard. Is my hair unkempt and frizzled? Do I have to regularly cut off the split ends? Yeah, but I know for a fact that men care about this much less than my hairdresser does. They care less about the effort than about the direction of the effort. This is why short hair no matter how it is styled or cared for or fashioned can never beat long hair no matter…

Women can have sex if they want it, so why didn't she want to? It may not be the kind of sex she wants but she couldn't have known that beforehand. She should have been a curious teenager once because I sure was. If she had sex early but decided she didn't want to have more sex with shitheads that is a green flag for me. If she argues she could have had sex but she didn't because it would have been bad sex anyway that is a red flag for me. Good sex doesn't just happen, you need to have had bad a…

Hormones? As in they get pregnant? You kno their hormones fluctuate every month right? Or did you mean neurotransmitters? By that logic you should also cut out women that eat chocolate or pet their dog Looking forward to your sources

It is not by nefarious design though. Before PUA took off I tried for years to get better at stuff like small talk through self help books, there was barely anything. The general advice was "just be yourself" and female centered self actualization self help. The grifters appeared later as capitalism abhors a vacuum of unsupplied demand.

Men don't, but women do and women sure are vulnerable to the opinions of other women. I Imagine they don't do it because it's mean and they don't want to be perceived as hostile pick-me's, but once men somewhat normalized the lingo women might go back to policing each other, as they have been doing until the gender wars.

Off topic: I once was looking for studies that look into whether there is critical window for sexuality like there is for example for language. Of course people can still procreate, but that is sexuality on any level that requires brain development and adaptation. It bugged me that humans get basic access at 12 or earlier but we treat them as asexual until they are 18, some even argue women's sexuality doesn't start to kick of until 30. Anyway, the only thing I found was that women who do not ex…

Imo women self label as demisexuals when they are sexually repressed. Once it is acceptable to use the label every other women can use phrases like "I need to get to know a person first" that sound demisexual to let down men they are not attracted to without being seen as shallow or frigid

Since you are asking, I would want women to take responsibility. As in accept that they have a role in fixing this and it is not just mens responsibility to be more attractive, better in bed, etc. For example I have never seen something like nofap for women. I rarely see women address the effect of hormonal birth control, they usually just get to it when they already have a boyfriend they are not attracted to. Or the topic that sex toys might desensitize you to the real thing, akin to porn and d…

This really bugs me. Every time porn comes up women say that it skews how men relate with real life. But they never apply that to their porn (romance novels). And every time it comes out that a man masturbates to the image of a real person he knows it is labeled as creepy or objectifying, when it is actually the most healthy thing to do.

By your logic waiting at the finish line means dating men that are in their 30s while they are in their 20s. A lot of women are already doing that but a lot also don't want to do that and instead want to date close to their own age.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 08:22 AM

I think this is conflating median with average. If you sum up all (hetero)sexual partners for both genders you should get the same number (provided women don't report differently than men). But if you look at the sexual partners of the median man, that is 50% of men have more sexual partners and 50% have less, then you will see it is not the same as the median woman. It is kinda like capitalism for sex.

Tbh it is almost funny how women pretend that it is men who hate sluts, while they also pretend that they are sluts in secret or would be if you only got to know them better. In fact all women would be sluts if men would not judge them for it! No dumbass, the definition of a slut is someone who also likes sex outside of an emotional safe space. And men can very much relate with that
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 05:48 AM

What I don't like about sluts is that it is very obvious in them how they reject me for my height. Just because they are more uninhibited does not make them better people. I like that sluts don't judge me for wanting to have sex early into a relationship, or rather have sex at all without an emotional bond. Compared to other women, not being judged is a breath of fresh air. Tbh it feels like I am stuck between chairs, I still feel shame for wanting to bang lots of women. Regular women make me fe…

Depends on how you spin it. He has to pay for dinner because you are technically on the same standard of living? Feels like you are mooching of him while you also saving up fuck you money. You are stooping down to his standard of living and everybody pays his fair share but you also are saving up the down payment for the house which may be in your name but which you will eventually both be living in rent free? Sounds like you are betting on the relationship.

A lot of guys have to feel needed because they can not imagine feeling wanted. The standard reddit advice would be "communication" but I suggest you first look deep within yourself why you actually want to be with him and what you get out on a day to day basis. If there is no reason he needs to know and be cut loose now, not after years of belittling. When you know what you want from him and why, tell him so he can play to his strengths. This has to be stuff you actually want, not generic "good …

This. With calories it is the most obvious because you can literally measure that TDEE doesn't change with age even though people get fatter. Time doesn't lower testosterone or make you dumb or ruin relationships. You can just measure that demographically because bad choices that were of no consequence when you were 17 over time accumulate into habits and real effects.

I had the idea that it is essentially price gouging when people settle for something they don't fully want. Most men would be happy to have a chill, sexual, fun, aimless situationship with a woman they get along with. Think endless movie nights with pizza and Nintendo in sweatpants, dumb like that. The woman would have to be minimally attractive for that, think non obese teen with a wig. What they don't want is a "relationship" relationship with meeting her parents and grandparents, talking abou…

I have wanted this so much. When I hold my ground it always feels like mansplaing. I would love a female friend to step in from a neutral position and mediate some facts. I hate, hate, HATE how people keep repeating that "communication" is the end all be all advice for every problem involving sex and relationships in general. They always say it like just mentioning this one word makes everything self-evident. It is clearly a case of morons repeating dumb relationships advice like a meme on reddit without sparing an inkling of a thought why "communication" would make anything better and not everything worse. What I think people underestimate on this subreddit is attachment theory. Some people are just psychologically healthy. The incels that stick out like a sore thumb are not only unattractive, if they would happen to fall into a relationship they have no reference point to keep the relationship healthy. People call this social skills but a more apt description is how your parents fucked you up.

I am baffled how women can be so unempathetic to argue otherwise and shame men over this. Surely they once were teenagers that were envious of the more mature people who already hooked up. Surely they once felt locked out of the action by attributes one has no control over? You only have to go to foreveralonewomen to see that women also can attach their self worth to sex. Most women just have an easier time getting (maybe bad) sex. Once you had the experience that you can just have it if you wan…

Well yeah, I don't know if you are autistic or know autistic people, but they tend to be highly moral. Though that usually doesn't translate to good intimate relationships. In all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if the guy you described sometimes lurks on 4chan. If she had not pursued him but he had to look for her in the 80% of women that don't want him by now he wouldn't be described as funny, confident, calm. And the blame would be lain squarely on him.

And even if I eventually did, that woman would never meet the threshold to make me physcially attracted to her. I think it is very fixable if people wanted to fix it. Imo a lot of attraction is what you associate with good things (sex/intimacy) and how your expectations are met or surpassed. i.e. you can Stockholm yourself into a not so cute girl if the hormones flow the right way and the respect is there. My gf is so tiny when we haven't seen each other for a few days I always pick her up in a bear hug and just swing her around or carry her a bit. It's adorable and she loves it. Sometimes I also tease her by putting stuff on high shelves where she can't reach it. She says she hates it but I get a laugh every time. It's never about the actual gf or their attribute bragged about, it's always about meeeee You wouldn't know her though, she is from another school.
