Assuming they are doing the manipulation means they know the person's traits Manipulating someone doesn't mean knowing that someone. nobody has that kind of awareness. It's another assumption. Are you going to the gym? Many end up having perfectly happy lives because they followed the rules given without even knowing why the rules were there. Sure. Power to the army of drones. I'm turning tables to show that manipulation is amoral in its nature. Other than you not responding to the point made, I…

That's quite a lot of assumptions in a single comment. Anyway: there are short-term and long-term effects, while one maybe be good, the other one may be bad at the same time. conditioning - in your example with a candy - is short-term results with bad long term consequences: kid is spoiled\has no idea why something is right or wrong etc. you keep on turning tables: made (manipulated) a person to do something for themselves VS made a person to do something for the manipulating party. by fantasy I…

I don't know what BB and AF mean. I don't see why that has to be necessarily bad or disrespectful. Uhm, because it's feeding off someone's insecurities?

I'm not TRP, to be honest. Or don't consider myself to be one. I do appreciate reality, though. However, I don't do locker rooms as they are also removed from the said reality. Either way, I was just expressing my opinion and thoughts. If it's of no value to you, so be it.

Manipulation is indeed a tool. Manipulation that takes away one's reality and replaces it with a fantasy that is not rooted in reality in the end–is of evil nature. Insecurities are similar in their nature to fantasies. Either can be made real. One has a negative connotation. Your first example is subjectively beneficial to your friend because her reality improves in the end. The value is added. Your second example is not automatically beneficial to him because his reality improves only if she i…

You gave a very narrow, super specific example. Do you really think that those who are rich, work hard and manage their finances are so easy to fool? I bet they can see bullshit a mile away. The moment they notice someone plays on their insecurities, that someone will get catapulted so hard they might break the sound barrier. It totally did answer her question, like a number is an answer to how much is 2+2. edit: I'm totally angry, if you are wondering, because your advice is mostly evil, as it …

Thanks for elaborating. I thought that having a family with a partner she'd rather not be with, is as not okay as not having a family. To paraphrase the RPW approach. If a woman wants kids above all, she will be most likely taking risks when selecting a partner unless she starts her relationship with explicit agreement to have kids. In other words, a woman's bank is her womb, she's bartering with a man using RMV/SMV, a man's bank is his fiscal value (I suppose). Bleak. side note: to be fair, the…

Correct me if I'm wrong. Are you arguing that a woman's 20s and 30s are more valuable than those of a man, because a man in his 50's can get a woman in her 30's, but the opposite scenario is less likely? I find it hard to believe that man's RMV/SMV doesn't go down over time. Actually, I'd call it complete bullshit, unless you consider beer bellies, and bold spots attractive. Obviously there are exceptions. Alright, let me re-phrase, as this argument is getting slightly derailed, imho. "They take…

If a woman spends ages 23-37 with a man and they don't have kids, why is she worse of than a man, if they go their separate ways afterwards? She wouldn't be a housewife all this time, as they don't have kids, so she would be living her life, not someone else's. It should be a conscious choice. What I don’t get is why having marriage and kids makes it okay if you grow apart from your partner? Are those two the ultimate goal women seek in relationship? I can’t believe it. I've linked a couple of s…

women have a time limit, while men don't .... the woman probably can't (without a lot of risks and maybe fertility treatment). I consider this to be a misbelief. For example, please have a look at these two studies on age-dependent fertility: http://humrep.oxfordjournals.org/content/18/2/447.full https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3253726/ The bottom line, male fertility decreases over time. This said, I'm conscious of the fact that women bear children and it's hard on their bodies etc…

So he screws me by taking my youth and beauty through time I understand that time is a shared commodity. If he takes your time, you take his time too. Just because men don't have "the wall" doesn't mean their SMV\RMV doesn't change with time. If you are entering a relationship you are unsure of, and bank on a marital agreement to protect your future, then let's not talk about love, or, let alone, knowing your partner as a prerequisite to a solid relationship, as social studies suggest. Edit: wit…

Yep. Neither of you should necessarily change, but being aware of ways of your communication is important. All the best!

Do you think we should go somewhere else? I have no strong preference for this place. Sounds like you have different modes of communication. Incidentally, it's nothing to do with RPW, I think, but more with cognitive behavior in both of you. Neither needs fixing, just finding and establishing ways to ensure you both are on the same page.

Which roles do you mean? Captain/FM? In this case, if both parties are capable of being captains, and the other party under certain circumstances can take the role of FM, that is fine in my book. I enjoy independent thought, I enjoy people who have the capacity of being their whole self. To me, the latter implies knowing both roles, their efficiency and application. Otherwise this life starts to look like a photocopy, in my eyes.

This is probably against TRP ideas: I believe not every woman must be submissive to find a partner. Statistically, maybe. However if you have to go against your well defined, fully aware self, and if it's like pushing against the wall, then your ideal partner is someone who sees you as an equal, not necessarily a captain, I would say. I have a difficult time swallowing the idea that every woman needs a captain.

I was slightly exaggerating the issue to sense where it stems from. You mentioned that you felt like he is replacing you with video games in some regard, so I tried to say that sometime this "change" can be less of replacing, but more of enriching the assortment of his external stimuli. After re-reading your post, I think my original statement was mostly off. As well as my elaboration on it in this comment. Right or wrong, I think you two may want to re-establish a healthy balance anyway, that s…

I think it shouldn't be a hard choice here: choose me or computer games. You are not a computer game, so you can't give him what he wanted in this regard; a computer game is not you, so it can't give him what you can. A healthy time distribution is perhaps better: a sane amount of time spent playing the video game, while you both get to be together, too, afterwards or beforehand. Edit: if it bothers you, maybe you've got to discuss it with him? To me, it seems, computer games are usually a tough…
