Tbh I don't think anime is the best for people done with tropes thay negatively affect men. Anime is full of women hitting men and facing no consequences. I really like anime but it's a mixed bag. I sometimes even prefer stories with a female protagonist just because it decreases the likelihood of certain tropes.

I don't take anyone who uses terms like toxic masculinity or healthy masculinity seriously. They inherently dictate how men should present, nor do they actually help in addressing the issues men face. Tgere is nothing set in stone on what toxic or healthy masculinity is, so it can be easily weaponzied and used to control mens behaviour. To get to the root of the problem you need to address the normalised misandry in society. If there wasn't this disgust and discouragement of men acting a certain…

Thing is, if a really conventionally attractive guy was caught doing something similar I feel you'd get similarly comments from women. I think it's unavoidable when the perpetrator is good looking unfortunately. I wish these people would think a lot more about the fact they persued underage individuals. There is nothing stopping them having relations with people their age, they have chosen to target someone younger. It's not that a flex that an adult is attracted to your 13 year old body.

Agreed, it's odd because it gets framed the other way round all the time yet it's constantly men being made to feel like their sexuality is inherently predatory. I see them use porn as an example as mens sexuality being catered to, not realising porn and things like only fans is actually mens sexuality being exploited and preyed upon for money.

Genitals sometimes just have a natural odor, if she doesn't like the smell that's probably unique to her. She might be sensitive to that scent, I've seen others say similar.

I wonder if you were forcefully retracted as a child, that's the most common cause for foreskin issues during puberty. Forced retractions cause scarring which makes the foreskin unable to grow properly which causes the tightness as scar tissue doesn't stretch or grow. Also there are other procedures that don't involve removing the foreskin, I can't remember the name but there are more options.

They just keep upping the negative depictions of men to justify it, and society goes along with it because they genuinely care about the vicitmhoods of women and don't want to tread on any toes or invalidate the of women. Yet men get told to man up if they face anytbjng. It makes perfect sense living in a world with normalised misandry that it would get to this point.

Same happened to me, I've been banned/muted on other subs for not even saying anything bad, just calling out people who just so happen to be women or standing up for men. It's ridiculous.

The one other post I've seen talk about this, the guy basically got gaslit by everyone saying he's just insecure. He deleted his account so I couldn't see what he said, but the responses seemed to downplay or make out that he's the bad guy. https://www.reddit.com?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=1

If it's being done for the sake of revenge and male actors being made to feel they should do it for equality then it's not really consensual. That's the sad thing, the goal should be that as long as it's ethical and consensual it's OK, instead it's being turned into revenge on men which is the opposite of what should be the end goal.

I've seen this a lot in bisexual spaces. You'll see women say they want to look after a women, but despise the idea of doing it for men. They see cooking a meal for a man as oppressive or patriarchal. 🙄

That first case sounds horrifying. I don't know how you could mock someone in that situation, wouldn't you just be freaked out and sympathetic.
/r/MensRights02/03/25 10:33 PM

Not you, I'm referring to people who say "fgm is worse". Because they often are under the bias and belief that it's worse no matter of what form of fgm it is. Sorry i wasn't referring to you in a few bits, rather ignorant people who do, as that's what OP was referring to.
/r/MensRights14/02/25 06:01 PM

I understand maybe you have some bias behind it if you have seen instances of people downplaying it. I have my bias and experiences too which is why I'm on the defence also. We are all on the same side so I know you mean no harm. Wish you the best.
/r/MensRights14/02/25 05:58 PM

The misinformation around fgm is that all forms of it are that worst case scenario, when the vast majority of the common male equivalent. There's even surveys done on groups of fgm women and intact women that show there isn't much difference in how many women reported having orgasms or desiring sex, so this idea fgm cripples women sexualy because people think all forms of it involve remove the clitorus are wrong. But it doesn't matter, people want to perceive women have it worse either way, it's…
/r/MensRights14/02/25 05:31 PM

But they never said that! You're the one that's misinterpreting it! If you took the exact same equivalency of genital mutilation, so the girls has her clitoral hood removed and the boy his foreskin, people would still argue it was worse for the girl purely because they're a girl! That's what they are mocking! No one's denying the worst case scenario of fgm isn't worse than the removal of the foreskin or trying to downplay fgm.

since the person I replied to make it seem like it is nothing compared to MGM They never said that? They never referred to the worst case of fgm, nor did they downplay fgm. You've misinterpreted it. It's people saying things like that who are downplaying male genital mutilation, that fgm is always worse, when in actuality there are multiple forms of fgm and some being less sever than the most common form of male circumcision. When people pull the "fgm is worse" card it's always used to downplay …

You're taking the worst case scenario though which isn't a fair comparison. You're also are making false equivalents. Some forms of fgm are considerably less severe than your average male circumcision such as the needle prick on the clitoral hood, so you could say women have it better in those circumstances. Worst case scenarios for men is the whole removal of the penis, which is more tissue than worst case scenario of fgm. Worst case scenario of fgm is the removal of the head of the clitorus, c…

That's fair enough, and sorry for making it seem more negative. I probably worded what I meant poorly, and with the lack of more context I couldn't tell how you really felt about them. I kinda just went along with what you said about the discussion ultimately not doing much for boys, so while they treated you well, they just didn't truly care for issues that affect men. What? If you have an issue with what I said can you answer it in a normal way. If you want to defend them just defend them. Thanks for sharing, glad to see that there were feminists that acknowledged that there was special treatment to some extent for women. Evolution was filled with suffering and learning from mistakes. Instead of learning from the past, modern feminists want to warp and weaponize it to hurt men and women in the present.
/r/MensRights04/01/25 04:12 AM

Society has always placed a huge amount of responsibility on men, so if anything goes wrong it's on them. Feminists like to say men had all this power historically, but it was responsibility they had, they has responsibility over the lives and wellbeing of their family. Even if there was a female leader/queen, it's still a man who bares the burden of responsibility.

Why are they showing that in sex Ed, wtf? It's odd how normalised the mutilation and cutting off of mens genitals is too. In general is seems from anal rape to attacking and mutilating their genitals, it is normalised or not seen with anywhere near the same severity as it happening to girls.

There's contracting messages in this response. So everyone is entitled to feel safe in public, unless what makes you feel safe in public doesn't match the right criteria, and then you're not allowed that entitlement? Hmm. A lot of male spaces have been taken over to accommodate women, but many women only spaces are respected and allowed to stay female only. Many of the women take advantage of the dynamic because gay men aren't ever going to make a move on them so women can ogle and grope all they like without consequence. So they are hypocrites for going to gay spaces to basically act no differently than the men they demonize. I hate the excuse of wanting a safe space, because women are making their wellbeing everyone's responsibility, even gay mens. If you're that bothered maybe just don't go out, people shouldn't allow women this much entitlement…

Women are the biggest consumers of gay porn and a lot of it is specifically made by women for women, or should I say, the "female gaze". If and when the roles are reversed men are called perverts and misogynists. In the bisexual communities I always see the excuse that the only reason women are accepted is because bisexual women are fetishized by men, but that bi women being fetishized is also thr reason why they are oppressed? It's almost like the reason bi and gay women don't face the same obs…

No I just think women attack what they know will hurt the most, clearly the attitudes of some of these guys shows they didn't value it that much. I don't agree with the whole men are obsessed with their genitals, as if you look at womens attitude towards fgm they clearly do care and I would never mock them the way women mock men for being uncomfortable by cases of genitals being mutilated. It's not the "reverse" as women have always been acknowledged for their victimhood and got support for it, society has always encouraged men to protect women and children. It wasn't perfect but men were always held to a standard of protecting women. We have always had plenty of empathy for women's needs, but men don't have any and that's still present to this day. What we are seeing is gatekeeping of victimhood, and to reinforce this history has to be made out to be a lot more malicious than it …

Well said. Majority of 'issues' are weaponized when it benefits them. So if they can virtue signal off saying they want men to speak up, they can also virtue signal by telling men to stop being babies and boohoo male tears. I've noticed that too from gay men, it also really doesn't matter how extreme the behaviour from women is either, they just always seem to sugar coat it or justify it. I think it's because a lot of gay mens issues are conflated with womens or they think the issues they face are because of misogyny. The idea the issues they face are unique to being men are not even allowed to form because straight white men bad, oppressers, privileged. It most definitely hurt girls too, difference is not only are their privates not as exposed (mens reproductive system is literally just hanging outside the body) but violence against women and girls isn't normalised let alone hits to the groin so it's just not happening at rates for anyone to know. It's also a comedic trope that it doesn't hurt girls. They do cause damage, and this is a terrible comparison. Women have hands and intelligence, they hit you where people can't see and in the genitals, or use objects, and even if they do hit you in the face the guy will lie or joke about how it happened. The male nudity really got to me. Especially as it's always depicted in a deprecating way. They show a female character punching a male characters in the genitals and you see everything. Just makes me hate everything.

Completely agree and some of the things female actors have said with the rise of male nudity is down right predatory. Also there has been so much male nudity over the years, from butts, genitals and torsos which often depicts unrealistic standards especially from shirtless scenes which are almost always played for sex appeal and there is an expectation for the male actor to get into a ripped state just for that scene. I think this is an issue of perception and empathy, also this misconception th…

There is nothing wrong with being a virgin, I'm a 22 year old women and never had sex. It's just not something that bothers me and I'm waiting for the right person. I struggle with mental health issues and that's a big obstacle in looking for a partner. Same I've seen a lot of places too, and I never blamed women specifically, just that feminism has made a dent in peoples perception of what a victim looks like and where blame is always directed. I've seen too many times this issue being purely blamed on men, so I can say the same thing, I don't want to keep seeing "by other men" or "well men like it" when these issues come up so women can turn attention away from them. Depends on what the did exactly. Norah documented everything and has the facts. I've seen a lot of trans men say "male privilege is real" but for all I know they could have an amazing friend group, be conventionally attractive/friendly looking(softer features) and possibly had a massive bias going into the transition of how good it was going to be. I think it's a minority of men who gravitate to these things, so it might seem like a lot but really isn't. Same, but it's very difficult with all the gatekeeping perpetrated by feminism and people who want to weaponize/capitalise off making these groups of people out to be oppressed. That's worse than a few guys playing off a fantasy, which a lot of women have too.

What I'm doing is different. It's often an unfortunate tactic to switch the genders in order to show how barbaric peoples attitudes are to male genital mutilation. People have a very different attitude to any form of fgm despite some saying they agree that circumcision is bad, which makes me worry there is a gender bias. While religion was a big influence in circumcision it's not the reasoning for why most do it. There was a massive push during the aids pandemic to circumcise men despite it bein…

When I say power I mainly mean having control over their body and in sex with all these options. I don't mean necessarily power in taking birth control, as like you said it can be sucky but there are natural options. Women having that cycle means you can track your periods of fertility, and this works incredibly well for many women as birth control. This is no social advantage, but a great biological one for women to feel more in control of their fertility. This is also why it was always a lot e…

I've already seen all this before and I still don't see how this needs to be a "BUT FGM IS WORSE" situation. It's just invalidating, deflection and generally lowers the urgency to tackle mgm. Also, mgm in a lot of the same countries fgm happens often goes terribly wrong and results in the man having a lot more taken away than just the foreskin. You are comparing circumcision to a form of fgm that isn't equivalent. There are no benefits to cutting off mens foreskin and anything promoting circumcision is backed by botched research. The clitoral hood collects smegma that can be difficult to remove. This can cause infection if not removed quick enough, but heck removing a womans clitoral hood to help with that is apparently horrific! But doing the exact same thing to men? Yeah that's just sexist bullcrap. In this whole abortion debate all the blame is being placed on men. From the ones trying to control womens bodies to the ones who should be forced to have a vasectomy because you can't make a baby without semen. Just absolutely no accountability or consideration on the womens part, and I don't blame them, because everyone in the media is basically telling these women to get angry and that it's justified.

Honestly some of the things I see are so petty and blatantly sexist. The other I saw was them saying to put it in the food like a dog because they are that incompetent, that did get called out thought at least.

Or they will say "finally! It was so oppressing having all these options of birth control!" Lol. I find how they always make a point in these articles of saying how women have ALL the responsibility with birth control, when I don't see why that would change no matter the options out there. You are responsible for your own body no matter what, men finally getting more options doesn't change that.
/r/MensRights11/11/22 12:21 PM

My only annoyance with male contraception finally getting the push it needs is women saying "we've had all the responsibility" when it's more like they've had all the power and accessibility for birth control and men only have one none sterilisation one, condoms.

Honestly it's heartbreaking when someone close holds prejudice for any group of people, but a lot of them despite being good people fall into that prejudice of men category without even thinking about how it's problematic because they are so socially conditioned to lack that empathy for men. Not sure that's quite the same. They didn't ban abortion, they left it to the states and then some of them chose to ban it so it's half true. Not to mention the support and funding women get to go to other states to get an abortion. I don't agree with banning it but it's a pretty poor comparison considering it's a lot easier to just not get pregnant vs being born a man?
