I don’t understand this either. My ex somehow has more net (disposable) income than me, but I make more than twice as much. We have 50/50 custody. None of this makes any sense.

You just described my ex. Super selfish and super entitled.

What is wrong with these women? Controlling? I got the same thing.

Are you describing my ex? I could have written this word for word.

What I have been doing with my ex in these situations is the one who doesn’t have custody that day can have a few minutes to say hi and good game first. Then the other can do whatever they want after the quick little chat. This has been working for us and is a nice compromise. Your wife needs to think of the kids and what they want. I know for sure my kids want to say hi and have a quick chat. If yours do too, then I would encourage her to look at it from that perspective. I imagine it must be t…

Do you think she would do the same for you if you were struggling? Was she fair and reasonable throughout the divorce proceedings? Who initiated the divorce and why? Personally, I would only help out if it is impacting your kids (if you have any). Otherwise, I would say she’s on her own.

I have 50/50 and am paying $1600 a month. Also for some reason, I got zero credit for 8 years of 401k contributions prior to a 13 year marriage. The judge gave her half?!?! I am buying her out of the house and am getting killed on interest rates. I have tried to settle with her since last September and she keeps dragging it out. My mortgage is going to be $400 or $500 more a month because she won’t settle. I am going to be refinancing less than the original principal and paying way more a month.

I’m in the same boat. I’m planning on taking the kids to see their grandfather. My wife refused to ever do anything for me for Father’s Day. For a decade I told her I thought that was unfair and hurtful. She never cared. I always did plenty for her on Mother’s Day. If I didn’t, she would have gone nuts. So glad to be rid of her selfish ass. I am planning on being grateful to be with my kids and grateful for 50/50 custody. No loneliness there.

I was told that she wasn’t my mother and not to expect any of those things. Even when she was a a SAHM she didn’t do anything. She never bought me gifts or made me feel loved in any way.

Like what? All they do is take and never give. That’s been my experience.

Wow. A very similar thing happened to my daughter. My ex’s dog bit her niece on the arm and drew blood. I begged her to rehome the dog. I begged her for months, she refused. Then a few months later a get a call at work that the dog bit my daughter. She was bitten just a centimeter from her eye and now has a huge scar. My ex chose the dog and herself over my daughter. Why are women so selfish and entitled?

Except you still need to pay her weekly. Selfish, entitled and dependent. That was my ex.

My ex still claims I did nothing. She’s walking away with almost a million dollars all earned by me. She didn’t even do the bare minimum around the house. Anything she did do was a struggle. She wanted me to do 75% of everything and her not have to work. Why are women so entitled?

Why is the system so fucked up? Why would she get 60%? My ex will not settle at 50/50 for some reason. Her and her lawyer keep arguing for more than 50/50 to her. I just don’t understand.

I agree wholeheartedly. My ex is the most selfish and entitled person I have ever met.

Same. My ex wouldn’t even acknowledge any issues on her end. It was all on me, just like everything else.

I’m in the same boat. I tried mediation and was willing to split everything 50/50 and agree to all the guidelines and calculators. That wasn’t good enough according her and her lawyer. They for some reason thought she deserved way more than 50% of everything. She kept telling me she was going to file and I waited two months until finally filing. She was pissed for some reason and hasn’t spoken to me since. At that point she started threatening me with false accusations of abuse and taking the ki…

Do not leave the house. Do not move out. That will set a precedent and may impact your time with the kids. Get a lawyer by any means. Put the retainer on a credit card if you have to.
