I just do sunscreen + concealer most days, no makeup. Doing your hair is probably more important than your face tbh. Something simple like brushing and parting it is enough for most days. Confidence and self esteem is, in Chinese, the belief in oneself. You need to believe that you can do things. And to believe that, you need evidence. Achieve goals. Do a new hairstyle. Cook a new dish. Achieve your next professional goal. Set a goal to call important people in your life more often. Do 20 pushup…

Oof this sounds familiar. Use your observation skills – if he seems agitated, you can go ahead and ask what's going on. Express sympathy. "Aw, that sucks. Take care of yourself love. Let's call later?" And don't offer suggestions if something is obvious – if you're dating him chances are he's a smart guy and already has a plan to solve the issue. But if he's laid out his "plan" and there are some glaring issues, then gently raise suggestions afterward. For your particular situation – he KNOWS ea…

Hi OP! You sound like me!!! I'm also the weird jokester in my social circle. I'm in a male dominated major at my university and what helps is being part of a female engineering organization! Our socials tend to lean on the girly side and everyone is pretty femme. I've heard that some companies have diversity groups (Latinx, Black, Women) – could you join the one for women? Discrimination against you for being a woman will happen whether you're femme or butch, and if it's a workplace that is wort…

I’m tired of the “Asian women are feminine and submissive” trope. I’m tired of when I went online dating and had white men blatantly call out my Asian features and show that they wanted to date me for my race, not my person. I’m tired of going onto seedy websites accidentally and seeing “hot Asian women near you” as an ad. You say it’s just a stereotype, and from your username I can guess you’re Chinese as well. Stereotypes are harmful.

You tubers are all the same. They’ll show you how life is so blissful and sweet and absolutely perfect. Why on earth would you form an opinion about an ethnic group based on blatantly construed media?

Ok a lot of these are based on media or limited experience. If you go to New York of course everyone is going to be dressed nicely. Same for major cities in other parts of the world. Also fuck that “Asian women are more feminine,” you do know that there was a trend where girls would try to show that their thighs pressed together were thinner than an iPhone 6s+? You do know that Chinese women are just as catty as American women? And you do know that housewife you tubers are the same all around, t…

Note on the dresses — where my family lives in China it is hell on earth in the summer to wear anything other than dresses. That air between my thighs is the only thing keeping me from murdering the world. It’s more practical than fancy tbh. Also THANK YOU for addressing the harmful aspects of a society hyper focused on femininity. A pop star recently had to apologize for speaking about HER OWN SEXUAL ASSAULT.

First and foremost: working out. Will give you that sweet sweet dopamine hit, tone your body, and give you confidence. Second: set goals for yourself: professional and personal. My friend gave me a goal to call my mom at least once a week ;-; and yes she was right it was good for our relationship. I’m setting a goal to be a TA for one of the classes at my uni and sigh it is so hard because of budget cuts but I’m tryna get hired 😤 Third: you accept the love you think you deserve. Why do you never mention your education? That seems like it’s holding you back. Educated men want educated women, not just Nancy who graduated high school and works at Starbucks. Connect with your alumni network and find someone who went to the same school. Hit up male friends from your college days. What’s your personality? All I get is “doormat” from your description. What are you interested in? What are your passions? Find someone from those circles. The “good men” your age are linking up wit…

My boyfriend is from a much higher economic class than I am so he’ll regularly comp my meals when we eat out. It started from me guiltily asking him to cover me when he wanted to go to McD’s once and now he just does it. I lowkey feel bad for not being able to treat him as much but I help him with his humanities courses a lot so that eases my conscience.

Option 3: find a man who knows where he doesn’t have much expertise and practices humility. It’s a Confucian proverb: knowing the extent of your knowledge is true wisdom. Any man who internalizes this is a treat to be with, while the men who don’t are insufferable. This isn’t about OP “needing to be right” it’s about men who have been praised and encouraged to believe that their way is always valid and correct so that they aren’t open to suggestions.

If you read the sidebar, RPW is supposed to be a direction, not an end goal. It's not meant to make you into a perfect Barbie doll, just a softer, warmer version of who you already are. It's better for you and better for your husband if you're happy and relaxed, and if that means wearing comfy cotton underwear and sitting with your legs apart every so often, do it!

I'm also an introvert and this week has been awful because my roommate is gone but I also don't have the energy to hang out with friends, so I'm just lonely :( It's kinda given me an erratic sleep pattern and I'm trying to fix it. Just be nice to yourself I guess – wear some warm fluffy things and treat yourself to some hot chocolate. We'll get through it :)

It sounds like he didn’t budget his time well and didn’t give you a heads up immediately when he was able to. It’s plain common sense to not schedule events immediately after a hike. On your part, you completely overlook the fact that he literally got lost. That’s a stressful situation and he needed time to decompress. I think the main issue might be how you valued this date. Maybe his thought was that it wasn’t too big of a deal because you two spend time together all the time. Maybe you wanted…

I understand your points in the first paragraph, thanks for bringing that part up. Simultaneously however, wouldn't the wife be resentful of the baby for ruining her body, throwing her life out of rhythm, and preventing her from resting or spending time with the husband? Why is the husband's experience regarded as normal but the wife's experience somehow is glossed over and merely regarded in terms of an inconvenience for the man? Also, I find it pretty disheartening that in a family-oriented su…

I'd like to respectfully disagree. The equivalence would be that the wife would be resentful of the baby for impeding her sex life and having time alone with her husband. Professional life, a hobby – that's exclusively the husband's interests. A baby is a shared interest, unless you mean to imply that a husband takes no part in procreating or raising the child. A husband spending more time playing League with his male friends is equivalent to a wife spending more time going out with her girlfrie…

eh, or just being coddled by both parents and never having to take any responsibility as a young adult, having all the chores done for him etc. I think why many young women today demand men who are able to cook and clean is not because they want an effeminate man, but rather a man who will view his wife as a life partner, not a maid who owes him all her attention and service.
/r/RedPillWomen24/10/20 04:55 AM

I have literally zero experience with this so I'll ask a follow up question: Whenever I hear about this phenomenon, I'm thinking – jealousy after a baby arrives is a sibling thing, like the older sibling is mad that the parents don't give them attention. So when I hear a husband being baby jealous, I'm a little confused – is it not the husband's responsibility to also care for the baby? Does the husband think of the wife as a surrogate "mom"? Why is it not also the husband being happy that a new…

Hello! same same! Bisexual Asian feminist here! Currently in a relationship with a man and the RPW stuff helps haha. I think RPW doesn't have to be an iron code, it's very much take as much as you need and discard the rest. I know my interpretation is much more subtle than most women's here – the "let the man handle the final decision" doesn't help because both of us are indecisive as hell, he actually gets annoyed when I ask "what do you think" LOL. It is true and it is not uncommon for men in traditional setups to swindle their wives, I've seen it happen among some of my parents' acquaintances. The woman wants to submit and the man takes advantage of it. honestly feminism is closer to "support women for their life choices" than "force all women into the full time careers" and I'm sorry you've had experiences with people who've told you otherwise. I think feminism and rpw are very compatible tbh. Probably the main reason why people are against "traditional" setups is because, not only are women inherently physically weaker, but in a traditional setup they are also more victim to financial/physical abuse by flawed men.

Twitter for sure is a nice place to start! I do recommend following the other commenter’s advice — you need to make some IRL connections first in order for social media to be useful. Hi! Having social media doesn’t mean you need to post pictures of yourself. Mine are mainly scenic, nature-y pics. Uniqlo has wool / soft sweater skirts that you can wear over fleece lined tights. Most feminine winterwear will tend to be either extremely pricy or made out of cheap synthetics because female fashion has faster trends, so brands won't invest as much into making durable, warm, yet trendy and feminine winter clothes.

There’s literally no one forcing you to date Caucasian men? I’m a Chinese woman and have literally never found white men attractive. Usually opt for Asian men tbh because of cultural similarities. Idk if you’re familiar with the Avatar universe, but Toph’s conversation with Iroh (in season 2) touched me a lot. Everyone in Toph’s family saw her as a helpless blind girl so they tried to do too much for her, which upset her because Toph is hands down the most powerful earthbender in the series — and she knows it. So when she first joined Team Avatar she refused to let anyone help her. But when she got separated and bumped into Uncle Iroh, he told her that it was okay for her to let others he…

Bill Gates and Zuckerberg were talented enough in high school to get into Harvard. And they didn’t hide it. They had the confidence to own it. Did this man drop out of Harvard, UC Berkeley EECS, Cornell, or Princeton? Women need to end up with someone they can respect, and for OP who has spent her life in academia, this usually means someone who, at the very least, has performed well in academia.

That’s a WILD difference in life experience! You’re a PhD candidate! I do get the sense that RPW pushes the “settle” narrative a little too heavily, you want to end up with someone having your level of education at the very least! On very rare occasions if I’m committed to him romantically, yes. Otherwise, no. Men need to build confidence on truth, and I would be doing them a disservice by inflating their ego undeservingly. Also, a lot of men in my major are arrogant because their egos have been stroked too much in their youth, and I don’t want to contribute to that problem even more. Love, you sound very materialistic in this answer. Jewels and riches can only corrupt. The question was about wealth beyond compare, not sustainable daily life. I think the biggest issue is that he put that he had a degree on his profile when he actually didn’t. Honesty is incredibly important and this was a willful and blatant lie. You’re right that you were lied to. I won’t violate the RPW rules here, but consider: what else would he lie about? Living costs in my area are astronomical and it is almost impossible to have a nice life in a suburb without dual income. That’s mainly why my parents steer me to focus on a career, because these years are crucial to getting internships and starting job offers that will define my earning potential. Hmm there’s nothing wrong with the girls in your area pursuing their dreams if those really are their dreams. Many parents in my area also emphasize staying single and getting a career, but it’s meant more as “focus on being able to provide for yourself before getting distracted by fickle relationships.” The thing about all men are bad — well, that’s quite extreme as a statement, however I’ve been told the same thing by my parents in order to warn me away from being alone with a man. The only times I’ve been told that are by my more traditional Christian friends after I’ve gotten broken up with, and it’s meant in the sense that “you are a whole person in Christ and losing a man doesn’t diminish your worth”. How can you judge her for taking a break from the Bible when you regularly engage in sin? Both she and yourself have had sex and hoe’d around. Does it matter her N-count if you’ve also had premarital sex? Sin is sin. And you are not married but having sex with her. Sin is sin. You’re 18. While it’s nice to improve oneself, it seems like you’re fixating on this a little much? You want to be a feminine version of yourself, and that means developing your self first. Yes, be kind and gracious, but please don’t obsess over the outward appearances of femininity.

I actually have the opposite experience with feminism. When I was growing up, my mom bought boys clothes for me so that my little brother could wear them after I grew out of them. The message I got was that it was okay for a girl to be masculine, but it was shameful for a boy to wear girly clothes. Ergo, liking pink and being girly was shameful. This mentality followed me throughout my adolescence, mainly self imposed and reinforced by my mother. Oddly enough, she’s the one who tried to force RP…

There are some parts of RPW that help, such as internal femininity and graciousness, with men and social situations. But this seems more like a “social circle” problem than a “you” problem. I’ve had no trouble dating men who don’t mention my body hair at all, even when my peach fuzz rivals their post-shave mustache haha. Definitely try and take a stand around your family. Even as a little kid I knew I wasn’t going to present feminine visually — I wore gender neutral stuff and couldn’t give a crap about my hair. Barbie taught me that it’s one’s internal femininity that is more important — bravery, intelligence, love and care for family and friends. I liked that Barbie was the hero in the movies. She rarely needed the man’s help. Most of all, she taught me that you can be both kind and brave, gentle and uncompromising on your values.

Generally by the time the kids were in kindergarten this was how it went. I’m sure that they did take maternity leave / a year off of work, plus had grandparents come over from China and stay a couple years to help during the toddler stage. ETA: Us kids grew up pretty independent. We microwaved our own food, went to after school programs that taught Chinese or music, and I think a lot of us learned how to wash the dishes by 4th grade. Also dads took a large role in child rearing as well.

Many Chinese women in my community balance the two very well. I live in the Bay Area where a large portion of people are Asian-American. Women here are software engineers, nurses, and professors. My classmates have been raised very well by them and eat nutritious home cooked meals every day. It’s never been a question of either-or: girls here are raised to achieve a high level of efficiency in schoolwork and in their careers so that they can balance homemaking and a high powered career.

Red pill is an ideology, not a hard and fast practice. You can be submissive while also recognizing that you and your husband are both in a demanding degree program and thus should share household responsibilities fairly. If he’s spending all his time studying while... you’re not... he’s getting a much better value out of school. As a captain, he should be stepping up and recognizing that you’re doing far more than you can handle right now.

Going through your history, yes, you are unlovable. Because you are obsessed with being lovable. Please see a therapist and stay off of reddit for a while.

I personally base my voice off of female opera singers — their voices are beautiful, feminine, yet also bold and clear to fill an auditorium. You want to keep the melodic quality of your voice while maintaining strength throughout — no quavering or lilting. Think opera, not bedtime lullaby. People often tell me I don’t sound like they expect me to in real life — I’m rather tiny but I carry a strong, confident voice. Not gravelly and masculine, but bold, clear, and authoritative.

Bald nether regions are just another unrealistic porn expectation. Don’t feel like you have to go hairless. Your body grows hair for biological reasons, for underarm it prevents sweat and for your crotch it prevents chafing. Trimming is painless and also keeps things neat for your partner. Edit: why downvotes? Pretty sure the idea that women had to be infantile and hairless came from porn. Also OP said she wasn’t into the hairless look.

Someone tactful, yet frank with her opinions. Physical beauty not necessary. (Someone I find incredibly attractive and magnetic has a big forehead, acne scars, and limp, straight hair.) Someone who knows what she wants in life. Who seeks to understand people around her, and genuinely seeks to help others whenever she can. She is confident in her abilities and acknowledges her weaknesses. She can survive on her own and is capable of hustling an income. (I’m not yet 20 so total financial independe…

don't worry about this. If your boyfriend had a behavior tic that was caused by his upbringing, you would want to know too, wouldn't you? Because then you can have empathy for him and be understanding and work through it together. It's not silly to let him know about a legitimate issue you have, and if he's worth your time he'll be happy to listen.

That's a really rough experience, that college sounds way out of line and completely unprofessional! I'm sorry you went through that. It definitely sounds like you had a lot of bad experiences with people pushing their opinions on you instead of letting you be you. The rest of the western world is definitely not like that and I hope you're able to find a community where you feel more at home. For now, you've got this subreddit I suppose. (as a side note, the U.S. has a long history of missionary…

Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm glad that I'm seeing another aspect of American society. May I ask (through DM) which college you go to? Or if that's too revealing, the state you live in? It must be rough feeling like you're the "diversity admit." Know that colleges don't pick severely underqualified people to admit, and that statistics have ranges of error. Whether you feel that you "deserve" to be at that college or not, they picked you. If they made a bad choice, that's their fault. N…

I'd like to note that no one is forcing you to get an abortion or a divorce, whereas in the 1960s women were forcefully shamed into keeping the child or staying in abusive marriages. I'm sorry for how your mother related her experience to you, but most narratives are usually, "I was not mentally or financially ready for a child, so I aborted them. Now I am able to provide a good life for my next child, and it is better for both of us." I got into a college that does not use affirmative action in…

You like the incentive behind chivalrous actions but not the overt peacocking. You want a man who is kind to you and has masculine attributes without falling into caricature. You want someone you can talk to, someone you can laugh with. You want someone taller and decent looking.

Nowhere did OP go into any of this. She simply said that she wasn’t interested in common caricatures of men, much like how men aren’t interested in sluts or ditzy women. To me it comes off as OP wants someone who she gets along with more than any “type”. There are wonderful masculine men who don’t fall into the “women are completely helpless” or egotistical athlete category.

hey, really late response so I hope this is still useful: Personally I always pop the "what are we" question within 3 weeks of intense talking. I made a rule not to kiss unless I was in a relationship that was acknowledged as such by both parties. I suggest in the future that you are firm with labels so that you will know the boundaries and have a sense of protection if anything happens. You were in a relationship. you were emotionally and physically involved in a way that only happens in a rela…
