Hey, man, I appreciate the follow-up. I can definitely see where you're coming from and I am definitely offended by teachers/school administrators that let bullying occur. My hope is that it isn't as widespread as some folks fear that is. Either way it is definitely something to remain vigilant on. You and I are arguing on two entirely different topics. You're not addressing mine and I am apparently unable to address yours in a way that satisfies you. I don't owe you any explanations or details and, quite frankly, you've shown me that regardless of what I say, you're going to continue to lump all teachers into the same group. That's a shame. I don't know. I kind of get the impression that it's that whole premise of the extremely vocal minority vs. the majority. Polarization and all that jazz. Oh I won't argue it would be nice for the students to have more of that. I find that it's necessary to pick the battles carefully though. Do I spend the three minutes it would take to verbally dissuade the student acting out in an attempt to get attention from her/his peers or, do I ignore that, push forward with the lesson, and hope that given my lack of response/acknowledgement the student eventually stops being a disruption.
