There is no scientific data to back up that theory. It was created out of thin air using a thin foundation of what we do know about neurotransmitters. Look it up for yourself, no peer reviewed, evidence based study gives any indication of a 100%-75%-50% rule. It was made up by the manospehere to perpetuate the misogynistic idea that women can only have one sexual partner. It simply is not true. I'm glad you're listening to women. According to the manospehere, I shouldn't have a great love for my…

Exactly. That's the mindset of a healthy relationship.

Exactly, it has little to do with sex. I don't see anything that says that humans can only pairbond with one person, and after that suddenly they can't pairbond anymore. This guy is misconstruing it to a ridiculous notion.

Pressuring? If she loves you she won't break up with you. Simple as that. You don't "pressure" anyone to stay monogamous. If they love you, they will stay monogamous. You're overthinking this. Honestly, you don't sound ready for a relationship.

And your girlfriend will certainly think you're getting bored of her. Both sexes experience the same fears. I myself I thought the same thing. The best thing to do is enjoy the moment. If you carry your fears into your relationships, I assure you, you will never be happy. Most women and men are like you. I don't think monogamy is natural but it's what works best for everyone, especially when children are around, so we've perpetuated the idea that it's the desirable outcome. Women and men will gi…

Pair bonding is a ridiculous notion that has no true scientific backing. What has more scientific backing is that we're NOT monogamous. Very few species keep the same mate for the entirety of their lives, and our species is not observed to be one of them. The fact that you think that a woman's first is their greatest love is such a young, naive way of thinking. I'm a 31 year old woman, and have had sex with 12 men in my lifetime. My first was my first "love" at 18, but he was certainly not my be…

So thank you for showing us why Red Pill is bad- promiscuous people are bad partners, and since Red Pill helps men be promiscuous, the Red Pill creates bad partners.

promiscuous PEOPLE. Most of these studies are measuring both men and women's behavior. So promiscuous men are more likely to cheat as well, thus Red Pill is a breeding ground for cheating, bad partners.

On a big enough timeline. But in a shorter timeline, like the data being used, it isn't that linear. If less people got married in 2018, that has no effect on the fact that less people got divorced in 2018. Unless divorcing in less than a year is commonplace, which it's not.

When I say cook, I mean cook for you. If you want to cook for her, and her cook for you, and you clean the apartment, and she cleans the apartment, like an egalitarian 50/50 week day rule, then good for you! You don't want to have sex with your mom.

"women need to know how to cook" but "I don't need to be taken care of" okay, then why do you care so much that women need to know how to cook? Also, I'm not a fan of Freud. But let's be real, a lot of men want a mommy. It's a big problem in the dating world. So Freud was REALLY CLOSE but also on coke so he missed the mark.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 01:12 AM

So it sounds like you can't afford a house as well. Damn dude, that sucks. Houses over here in Texas range from 200k+, my hairstylist and her car salesman husband just bought a house for 400k. The middle class fare much better over here, I should be thankful. My bf makes 130k and I'll be making 70k right after grad school. Sounds like we couldnt get a house over in Canada!

I think that if you DO have all that to offer, it's possible to find someone who is a "match", meaning they have that to offer as well. If you "make money" you're probably in circles of men and women who also make money. And I'm not even talking about big bucks. Even teachers who get married can afford to buy houses. It basically comes down to "contributes financially". If you really think that's hard to find then there must be something else going on you're not telling us

Why is it not a dad's job? Why are you putting all the emotional labor on mom? Moms don't want to tell their son's they are ugly. I don't know about fathers. Most boys have fathers, seems like a son and pop chat to me. I actually think the red pill gets the improving stuff right: of course if you lift you will attract more women. being attractive? Women spend thousands of dollars a year on clothes, hair, body, and skin to look attractive. OP has figured out what women have known for centuries: look good and they will come. Don't ever listen to your mom's advice: this was OP's mistake. Mom's will never tell their sons that they are ugly and need work to get women. And that's not their job anyway. Guys have to figure out for themselves. Some never do and complain about it on reddit.

I simply don't think this is true on a grand scale. Having sex and having a relationship are two different things. Just because you want to have sex with someone doesn't mean you think they'll make good long term companions. Most men 30+ might see a young girl as attractive but share little else in common. That's enough to go another way. Also, you forget about the young early 20s girls. Read TRP advice subreddits posts by old men trying to hit on 22 year olds. 22 year old girls don't want anyth…

Among others, this guy: I'm an older guy that gets attention from young chicks, you're spot on. Most of us aren't lecherous men that only fuck hot young chicks. Most Early 20's women are annoying, and vapid. They haven't developed their own personality, or are looking for someone to finance their good times. Most older men aren't into that, occasionally there will be someone that isn't like that. It's usually someone that has lived a life differently from most ( veterans, single moms, women that…

Haha how long do you think we've been dating? Reasonable people don't get married after a year. Judging by your user name, if you were born in 1982, youre time is pretty much done. Sperm over 40 isn't allowed to be donated for a reason.

No, it doesn't make the conversation easier because it's a distinction that was taken from a disproven observation in wolves. It's unscientific metaphor that gives no real description of men and other than being a quick way to dismiss any nuances that exist beyond the vacuum that is obviously your little brain. But go on with your ShoRThaNDs

Lol he def has options. And yeah, that's just you. You seem bias already on "young hot women". But when you get older and start wanting a family you realize that there are still hot women around your age that you can actually spend your life and share your passions with. Maturity is a HVM trait, in my opinion. But that's just me.

Yeah, sex with emotional connection is where it's at.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/21 05:55 PM

And my 36 year old bf makes 100k+ a year in STEM and is dating me, a 30 year old. All of his high earning STEM friends have wives around their age range. So I actually have more examples than you that go against your point.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/21 05:53 PM
1

The fact that young men with no dating experience or life experience think that older, high earning men are looking to fuck hot young women on a grand scale. It's not happening nearly as much as you think it is, so it's obviously not considered a "best option" for the majority of the male population. That may be a reason why it gets ridiculed. It's not a HVM trait.

6 years for adults is hardly a difference. I'm 30 and my bf is 36. You would never call that "stealing from the cradle".
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/21 05:23 PM
2

Yeah, the thing is very rarely do men take this supposed "best option". Most men who make 80k+ are still are looking for a best friend and mother for their child. To the majority of men, that's the best option. Like, it's fine if you want to bang hot young women, but in my experience STEM guys making the 80k-150k range are looking for a wife and date in their age range.

No, all I'm saying is that now it's easier to leave toxic relationships and that it was harder to leave toxic relationships back then. Whether or not they make a dent in percentages of marriages is hardly the point. The point is protecting yourself, like getting prenups. Women can't protect themselves fully without having a career. Simple as that.

I'm not denying it happens, I sympathize for the men it does happen to, but I'm denying it happens ON A GRAND SCALE. Why? Because data shows otherwise. But go on thinking your thing, feels over logic, right?

Also, wide spread divorce rape is a myth, or the poorest women demographic statistically wouldn't be divorced women. They sure would like to know where this "divorce rape" money is.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/21 10:50 PM
6

Please, don't romanticize the past to fit your narrative. People weren't nobler and better at sticking together, they were better at orchestrating marriage in a way that it would be way worse to leave than to stay. Today, that dynamic isn't there anymore, and it's a lot easier to leave. Toxic marriages create a lot more trauma in children than divorce, Ill send you a source on that if you don't believe me, so the relative destigmatization of divorce is actually a net benefit for society.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/21 10:48 PM

Well, the reason I'm getting a career is (among other things) so I don't have to depend on a man for anything, so I guess men are a motivation for my career.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/21 10:40 PM
6

Yeah and thank God for that. Marrying is a bad bet for both parties. All women should have careers before even thinking about marriage so if things go south they can take care of themselves. That's the only reason divorce wasn't more common in the past: if a woman divorced her husband she would be effectively homeless because she had none of her own income. We don't have to grin and bear it anymore. We can high tail out of there.

I don't engage in good faith with people who can't respond in a respectful rebuttal. Though I think you have always been condescending and disrespectful, the internet has just let you express it more openly without social punishment. Has the internet made you worse? I can just go off my experience of men and what they did to stop the hair loss. Male pattern baldness is reversible if caught early enough, but receding hair line isn't, I'll give you that. Also, you can't compare real life pairing with dating apps. Of course people are going to choose the most attractive people, why not? Literally, what is there to lose? It's the gameyist of all games. 4 short guys in a friend group isn't what I would call an "exception" but okay? Out of short, pale, balding, skinny, short is the least undesirable, and it's also the only thing you can't control. Yeah there are height queens, but there are also boob kings, and butt kings, and the like. yeah I would say "stop making excuses" to a 6' woman. It might be harder, but it isn't impossible. I read guys on reddit loving tall women all the time. And honestly the 6' woman who is having issues with dating may be only having issues because she's being too picky. Some of these guys who are short and married are totally average lol. But if you're below average and short it's not the shortness that is the deal breaker. Short isn't inherently ugly. Ugly is inherently ugly.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/21 10:23 PM

If your short and have issues with dating I guarantee it's not because you're short. I have a large friend group and the three shortest of the group are married with hot wives (one taller than her husband). Stop making excuses like "I'm short", it's lazy and not based in reality. I agree with child support at conception, if abortion was abolished. But I don't want it to be abolished, so I am logically for parental support opt out and reform. Its crazy a man may not want a child and be stuck paying money the rest of his life, especially since that tends to happen to low economic status men. I don't believe they consent to that, just as women don't consent to giving up their organs for 9 months. The system is fucked.

If people could stop shitting I guarantee you they would. We just haven't got the technology for it. Also comparing shitting to 9 months of pregnancy and labor? Okay. But anyway, it doesn't matter. Just because you are a human life doesn't mean you are entitled to another human's life. There is no law that requires anyone to save anyone else's life. A family is not obligated to donate organs of a dead patient to a dying patient, even if that means the dying patient will die. Similarly, a non-con…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/21 04:19 AM

Meh, the court rightly knows that childbirth and motherhood is a whole nother monster, unlike child support. Its not hypocritical at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/21 11:10 PM

It is a human life. But a human life is and has never been entitled to another human life in any other legal sense. A person is not legally required to save another person's life. A dead patient family is not legally required to donate organs to save lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/21 09:31 PM

Consent to sex is not consent for pregnancy. That's why birth control exists. With that logic the father is consenting to child support the moment he nuts, but the way y'all complain about support makes me think you don't see nutting as consent to child support.

A 50/50 split is a good way to measure who the glass half empty/glass half full people are. Like those who react "only 50%???" Or "wow 50%!"

You both sound like low value humans. You for thinking you needed to get gangbanged to be loved and he in finding that attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/21 04:41 PM

No offense but I don't think a person who thought she needed to be gangbanged to be found attractive by her husband should be lecturing about bad decisions. Just because you make bad decisions doesn't mean other people should lose their freedom over theirs. I'm sorry you feel like you've fucked up so badly you want all your agency taken from you. This is above my pay grade.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/21 04:36 PM

Well luckily we have the freedom to get out of it once we realize it. Attraction and love can be a bitch, so glad we have an exit plan if we mess up. It's unrealistic to say "well don't mess up". You can't be human and not mess up. People don't need to be stuck to their mistakes their entire life. You have no compassion if you think otherwise.

You discover they are loser after a couple of years of dating. My last boyfriend was marriage material on paper, took a couple of years of dating to realize how he was a loser in the stealthy sense. Men are good at hiding their loserdom, just as women are. I don't date typical "losers" but goddamn some seemingly stable guys can be losers, you'd be surprised how sneaky they can be about it. Anyway, I'm dating a great guy now for almost two years who was friends with that loser ex. Didn't seem to …

My guy, we've never had it good. But I'd rather have sex with losers (I did the dumping most of the time) than get married to a loser. I'd also rather be making my own money and be able to leave that loser than be stuck with that loser for the rest of my life because I can't support myself. I've lived with those losers, holy shit I can't imagine having to deal with that for the rest of my life because I have no other option. Good men are rare and money gives us an exit plan.

That's not because society cared about men. That's because women were not allowed in the (profitable) workplace and literally could not survive without a man because of it. So you really want to go back to couples hating each other because the foundation of their relationship was survival? Lol let me tell you, that doesn't create marital satisfaction. How does society encapsulate young men that "women are wonderful"? I have never seen that to be widespread, but I am a woman and have generally interacted with mentally healthy men in my life. I find it to be a cope that mentally unwell or underdeveloped young men use on themselves, not pushed on by society.

Just because that's how he was raised doesn't mean that's the reason he picked a bad partner. Correlation does not equal causation. What's lazy is thinking that MUST be why he got cucked. Things are so much more nuanced than that. Parents can only do so much.

Yes, you actually can. I have a masters degree in behavioral science. It's stupid how predictable and non chaotic we are. I measure it every day. /r/PurplePillDebate16/08/21 04:24 AM

Yeah. An equal partnership takes into account areas of expertise and responsibility. If my husband wanted to buy a family car, it would be a joint decision where no one 's opinion is over the other, given we both work and equally foot the bill. However, since Im not into stocks, they could be in charge of that, if they show more expertise and interest in doing so, and I accept that, even if my money is involved. That isn't "leading". Yeah, and most of those women are married. The husbands didn't vet properly. If they waited to marry women in their late 20s/early 30s, they'd see who's high quality and who's most likely to stay high quality. That's when you see who's gonna be fat, have debt and overall be a bad choice. It's a good thing that it lowers the pool, because you shouldn't be getting married unless it's with someone you feel totally confident in for the long haul, not some hottie to bear your children. Start taking finasteride and using rogaine right away. My 36 year old bf noticed he was getting a bald patch, got prescribed finasteride and after 3 months has his full head back (you have to take it for the rest of your life though). His doctor actually told him nowindays being bald is a choice. We have the medicine for it. A thinning hair/bald patch man is just lazy. The ones beyond the median age, or the older ones, are who displayed over all better happiness aka late 20s, early 30s, beyond. statistics 101: median= number that lays smack dab in the middle of the sample size. Yeah, that's what's dating is for 😂 but I personally know high quality 30 year olds too, currently dating one sooo. But I acknowledge this is anecdotal, just like your observations are too. What we do know is, based on some studies, marrying later is better than marrying younger. We didn't find that marrying late was negative in terms of future subjective well-being. In fact, marrying late was better compared to marrying early. https://www.ualberta.ca/folio/2018/03/marrying-later-than-or-at-same…

Look at Wikipedia's page for pregnancy complications. That's were my data comes from. Do risks increase? Yes. But increase in risk does not mean high risk. It's not until after 40 that things start going real down hill for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/21 06:55 PM
1

Higher risk is still generally low risk. Like I said, the risk increases for chromosomal disorders after 30. But even at 35, the chance of chromosomal defects is still only at .0023%. Did the risk increase? Yes. Is it enough of a risk to center your life decisions around? Well, considering you have much higher risk, .09%, of dying in a car accident every time you step in a car, I think you have better things to be worrying about than complications in pregnancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/21 06:30 PM
2

They raise in possibility but we're still looking at a <.05% chance for women under 35. For chromosomal disorders, for example, a woman at 35 has a .0023% chance of having a child with those defects. So, that is not a good argument to make.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/21 06:00 PM
1

Sure, but that's life for you. If you worry about the risks of every little thing you're going to have a bad time. And the likelihood of getting injured in a war is astronomically more than having complications during pregnancy, so that isn't a very fair comparison. I would listen to an officer as well. A random person on the internet when the stats point in a very different direction? Well, not so much.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/21 05:15 PM

I'm in a long term relationship. Maybe they're happier because they also have universal healthcare.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/21 04:35 PM
2

Yeah, and all of those are pretty low risk statistically speaking. Not enough of a risk to base your life choices around. Just because doctors treat pregnancies of women 35 and over differently doesn't mean complications are very likely. A 65 year old man in good health has about a 1% chance of dying of COVID and well, you've seen the precaution we've taken. But I would stop with the COVID to pregnancy comparisons there, since pregnancy doesn't mutate and spread to others.

Also I've made this point a hundred times but I'll make it again. A 35 year old woman has a 1 in 360 chance of birth defects. In comparison, a person has a 1 in 107 chance of dying in a car accident every time they step into a car. You don't center your car driving frequency around that stat, so why do you think women should center life decisions around a much much MUCH lower statistical probability?

people change. physiques change. hobbies change. values change. especially from 18-late 20s. if you can see that good for you but not as many people are as astute so precautions should be put in place so they lessen the chance of getting burned.

A woman at 35 has a 1 in 360 chance of birth defects. A person has a 1 in 107 chance of dying in a car accident every time they drive in a car. The risks of a bad pregnancy is relatively low, and certainly not enough to center your life choices around.

Or how they have linked autism to the father's aged directly as well. (A 28% increase for fathers after 40, 60% chance increase after 50). I understand listing limitations, and lack of control is a big limitation for sure. But really, the risks are there for both male and female. However, it's still a relatively low risk, especially when we're talking early to mid 30s pregnancy, so it's not a good argument to make.

It's only level one so I can't be too mad at him though. https://www.healthline.com/health-news/does-older-sperm-cause-autism

Which is why guys should wait until they are older to get married.

it jives in the reality of "I want this relationship to last for life" not "wow you look so fertile lets get married have kids and divorce because we weren't compatible at all" which reality do you want? I know mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 11:27 PM

sure if you want a higher chance for dead bedrooms, resentment, and divorce because you guys weren't compatible in anything other than youthful sex appeal then go for it. but if you're looking for a life long partner, probably should vet a little better.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 11:15 PM

it's a term I've created myself in an attempt to give a name to the inability to look at the fine details in a big picture. There is "lack of spatial awareness", and I think that there needs to be similar phrase to describe lacking in the ability to see nuance. It's a work in progress haha

u/chalkandapples I don't personally have a recommendation of when to start dating, just that late 20s/early 30s are the best time for vetting for a life partner. I'd never recommend to young women to casually date. I'm a serial monogamist, and think deep love and respect are the best way to experience a relationship. That being said, I recommend young people to not think of marrying until late 20s/early 30s. Hell, date one person for 10 years if you love them, but long term habits will start to …

My points on why it's better to wait have already been made. A good partner goes beyond sexy/financially successful. If that's all you have, good luck holding the marriage together. Thus, it is both beneficial for both men and women to vet for character qualities that will increase the likelihood of a long term, life long companionship. These qualities that make life long partnerships are not as easily viewable until later 20s/early 30s. Thus, to avoid possible resentment, dead bedrooms, and div…

Thinking the only people left are the bad ones. There are many reasons why a older person is on the market that has nothing to do with their overall value. Many good ones have had shit things happen to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 09:32 PM

No, youre just wrong that they carry the same attitude. They absolutely do not. "Done with games" are women desperate for a relationship. You can be looking for a life partner but not be desperate for one. I've known both kind of women. Nuance is important.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 09:01 PM

You're not a HVM. You're a charade. I didn't "bag" anyone. I'm in a loving, committed relationship. The difference in our language and how we perceive our relationships show me how low value you are. I wouldn't touch people like you with a ten foot pole.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 09:00 PM
3

You don't have to mess around before youre ready to settle down. I am 30F. I've never messed around, and have had steady, long term relationships since I was 18 that ended up with me realizing this was not the person for me. I'm insulted you think older women who are not married yet are too busy "messing around". I hope your husband keeps the value you see in him now. I hope you do not end up disappointed and have to give your child the trauma of divorce. I wish you the best.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 08:57 PM

The "done with games" mindset is not the same as "looking for a life partner" mindset. "Done with games" is a red flag of desperate, bitter, low quality women. The lack of nuance awareness most people show is this sub is so concerning.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 08:38 PM

That's exactly what I'm saying. So don't put responsibility on just the woman to get married quickly if they want healthy babies. Men have responsibility to marry early in their youth too if they want healthy babies, if that's important to them. But I find long term compatibility of a partner more important than children, personally. Divorce is hell for children.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 08:22 PM
9

You are completely missing my point. You can prioritize LTR in your 20s without getting married, and a lot of people do. I'm not saying that you shouldn't date in your 20s, but that youth creates a smoke screen when it comes to value. A fit 20 something can be fit without working out. But suddenly they're 30 and have a beer gut, and you've realized you've married someone who doesn't take care of themselves. It's just easier to vet for values in your late 20s/30s. A fit 30s male will have to work…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 08:19 PM

I should clarify that getting married in your 30s isn't the same as starting to look in your 30s

No, it's fair logic, since he showed his true colors. You must be a 16 year old virgin or socially inept if you think pussy is the only thing men want. Companionship and high quality company is what stable, mentally healthy men want. You've showed you are none of those with this comment.

Yeah but your gut at 30 may be way different than it was when it was at 25 if you don't take care of yourself. Sexual attraction is a huge part of relationships, no thanks getting stuck in a marriage where a man lets himself go once his high metabolism wears out
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/21 06:37 PM

This screams "I don't know how to have fun" I spent my 20s going to concerts of artists I loved, working on creative projects, graduating college, selling artwork, traveling and getting into niche photography, long distance cycling, establishing myself in my career. No sleeping around required or done. Had great relationships during all of that (still doing that, only turned 30 this April 🤣)

70% of women know how to cook. That is a very high percent of the female population. If 70% of people improved in a study, the conclusion would be "most people saw an improvement". 70% of women is "most women". Thus, statistically speaking, most women know how to cook. 😂😂😂🤣🤣

Also, your statement about height, eye color, etc indicating intelligence, so why shouldn't sex indicate intelligence is an extremely weird argument to make. If height does indicate intelligence, I would say that height and intelligence are both desirable traits, so of course they would be more likely to be together, given their high value and high value traits are more likely to mate. However, sex is not a "high value" trait, its like a neutral in a way, in terms of tributes to a person. So, ey…

That is an interesting insight and explanation. I think that may be a factor and perhaps true in the beginning, but it is not the sole explanation. That is, I still think that, given women's intelligence, after this accident , it was a mistake for men to refuse to include women in certain important arenas, like philosophy and art until just recently, just like women haven't had a choice in their reproduction until recently. Women are not a monolith, and women who have interests that sway toward …

I haven't researched the color thing but if men and women only start showing differences in color perception after grade school I'd think there's a good possibility it was socially conditioned too. I try to be as neutral as possible, and that goes for anything women are apparently "better" at too. I just haven't read the studies to look for confounding variables such as social conditioning.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/21 12:06 AM
1

I hesitate to say that men are inherently better at women at anything other than physical strength because psychologists and scientists tend to agree that the reason behind these measured differences isn't biological, it's social conditioning. That is to say, something like spatial reasoning is not an inherent advantage men have over women, but that it has been built over time by how men are raised differently than women, giving them that advantage. see: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/201…

yeah I read that, and scientists still comes down to "it's unclear" because you can't know what babies are thinking and the sample size was like 50 lmao. Also, Cohen is rife with controversy and has had published research debunked before, so he's not what I would consider credible.

Lol literally the op that I'm responding to thought men were better than women because they haven't historically contributed like men have. You say it's "other women", no, it's men saying these things. I linked it right there, but of course no one is going to read my argument in full and make points that are demonstrably false. But this is not simply tech contributions. I'm talking of medicine, art, music, cuisine, etc, those historical contributions that you can think of many men icons but not women icons, even though that was fields that are very much "biologically" female interests. Women were not encourage to participate and in some cases outright banned from participating, which lead to less women contributions in those fields.

Women who are SAHM have a 16 hour shift. Even women who work part time also do way more house work, which puts them in to also work more than men when inside and outside the home work is combined.

Yeah I saw the graph. Like I said, equal under law doesn't mean there lacks any sexist conditioning on what is expected of men and women, and no financial burden to have them pick a field despite feeling outnumbered in. Social pressure is a huge behavior shaper. If you think you will have a strong community within one field and not another, you will want the one with a strong community.

I didn't read it all, but I think it's pretty telling that the countries with the lowest financial prospects have the highest amount of women in stem. This looks more like a measurement in economic opportunity. The STEM field is vicious for women, I've heard countless accounts of women who pursue stem or show talent and are torn a part by male favored bias. Stereotyping and different treatment is still very pervasive in fields, no matter how "equal" we seem by law. And when you have financial pr…

We are not unlike other animals, but we do have something unique: cognition and language. This complicates our development as a species and what we consider predictable given our shared DNA with other species. Humans aren't special, but we are unique. We have language to shape behaviors. Our life experiences are shaped through language. To discredit how it shapes human behavior is a mistake when observing how our species got to where it is today.

lol as someone who is a grad student in psychology I can assure you that's not true with the internet fact thing. Way to discredit a whole field now that women control it while Frued is regarded as an icon back when women were not even allowed into some colleges, much less encouraged to study psychology. The conditioning that society places on young men and women are extremely powerful and effective. I study its effects.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/21 04:50 AM

Yeah, and women weren't allowed in the fields to make contributions until just 100 years ago. So of course women couldn't make contributions, they were literally disallowed. Not because they were not intelligent or because they had no interest. Society did not encourage it or allow them to be interested. See the women who were rejected from schools because they were women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/21 04:50 AM

My claim is that men are not better than women because they have more historical contribution in art, math, science, etc, (which must mean men are smarter, more creative, than women), but because society's expectation of women disallowed them to follow that path, not because they are less smart, less creative, etc than men. This is a response to a post that claimed men ARE better than women with the amount of historical contributions im science, math, philosophy, art, music, being proof. I do no…

They were actively raised and conditioned to not do so. Women were banned from studying medicine until the late 1800s. If they didn't want to study medicine, why did schools have to actively disallow women from joining?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/21 04:16 AM
2

I'm not saying we don't need you. I'm saying you aren't better than us. I'm saying that this is a reason of the discrepancy. Men didn't even let women excel in their own creation. That's why there's more male artist legends. More male musical legends. More male cooking legends. Men's manual labor had very little to do with food, art, and music. That was women's work. And just because men made tools to make machines to make x-rays doesn't mean women had a right to be banned from the lab.

Yeah, it is amazing you mentioned manual labor which had nothing to do with my point in the OP, but I rolled with it and gave my opinion, then you called me amazing for making a hypothetical situation in my head on the point that YOU made, which still fails as a response because men's societal contributions (think Van Gogh, Christian Dior, Ernest Hemingway, etc) included women inovation, such as painting and other arts (the first novel writer known to exist was a female). Amazing. Amazing.

Okay, in a vacuum yes, it's more effort. But the world isn't in a vacuum. Men today do yard work once a week. Women do house work every day. That tips the scales a lot.

She toured with Mozart, did you know that? But they stopped her from touring with Mozart when she was betrothed to get married. Mozart continued to grow in fame, and she didn't. That's why we don't hear about her. Mozart had to privilege to perfect his craft, but her family stopped her development.

read the entirety of my post. I'm currently getting my master's in psychology and conditioning plays a HUGE role in how children grow up and how their interests form. Women are raised to believe that they are worse than man at math (a researched and concluded FALSE claim) and end up being scared of pursuing computer science degrees. This is just one of many examples as to why you still do not see many women in STEM fields. The fact of the matter is that society will take a lot longer to change a…

You completely missed the point. This post is a response to another post saying that men are basically better than women because they've contributed science and women contributed babies historically. So, if you want women to start reproducing more, maybe stop making it seem that men have the more impressive contributions when we were not even allowed to make those contributions. you get me?

Mozart's sister was considered a better musician, but while their family built Mozart up, they stopped her from touring when she was to be married. That is why there is not a Mozart equivalent woman, not because she did not pursue it since she did not need to use it for sexual competition. Her family had her stop to marry her off. And while you can say that was her primary value, hundreds of years later men think that women are not as skillful at things because "they haven't historically contrib…

Western media has made hindered both some men and women into taking accountability, but in different ways. However, your blanket statements and obvious sexist targeting makes any point you may have fall on deaf ears to anyone of reasonable mind. You don't understand what emotionality is. Your comments are riddled with debate 101 fallacies and emotional wording that which makes them both unrespectable and borderline comical. You are not worth talking to any longer.

Do you understand the difference of being an effect and being a cause? Having sex with someone you love might have the effect of keeping them happy, but you are not doing it to "keep them happy". Having sex with someone you don't love, however, to "keep them happy" is a deliberate cause and effect. I'll let you guess which "keep them happy" is the unhealthy one and why semantics are important.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/21 11:51 PM
1

actually, no. Doing something to "keep" anyone is deliberate and love, respect, etc does not necessarily have to be present. (Think a disgruntled wife having sex to "keep" a husband happy) Doing something because you love/respect someone does "keep" them, but it is an effect, not a cause. nuance is important, and this definitely is nuanced, which is why appropriate wording for this is necessary. They are not the same thing.

"keeping" anyone happy is horrible wording and is a misrepresentation of what makes long lasting relationships. If you're having to "keep" anyone, you're going to have a bad time. I would never describe as taking out the trash for my bf as "keeping him happy". I would describe it as helping someone I love.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/21 11:16 PM
13

I'll bite. "Keeping a man" is not a healthy reason to both 1) be in a relationship and 2) stay in a relationship. If that's your idea of thriving I'm going to guess you're not a woman lol If a woman sees "keeping a man in a relationship" as thriving she has a lot of issues and is most certainly not thriving as a human being

Yeah, we do want smart and funny. And good looking (plus other things depending on the woman). If we meet two guys that are smart and funny but one of them is more attractive than the other which one you think we're going to pick 😂😂

Okay but this is all a human's interpretation. So I disregard all of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/20 04:27 AM

That is a human interpretation of success. And you could easily argue human reproduction does not counter entropy.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/20 02:39 AM

I never said subjective interpretation was right. And randomness does not exist in any sense, mathematical or otherwise. Success is a human construct.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/20 02:07 AM

just because we're predictable doesn't mean there isn't subjective interpretations and subjective does not mean random. you are on a good start with the deterministic universe but still have a lot to learn.

And then you divorce later because the older you realizes he wasn't the right person. Yah no thanks. Some people will meet the right person in their 20s and some will meet them in their 30s. If a guy is insecure about that he doesn't sound like marriage material anyway. I don't regret not marrying my LTRs in my early 20s. They weren't the right person. I knew that then and I know it now.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/20 11:22 PM

We're all trying to find our best match. Whether it happens in your early 20s or early 30s, we're all trying our best. And if it doesn't happen, well, good thing hobbies exist. But why would I want to have children with someone I don't love, admire and respect? I'd rather be alone than be stuck with someone I settled for.

Yeah, and they're being "fuckolded" by their future husbands who were also having sex with other people before they met.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/20 01:21 PM

That's not specific. Specific would be interviewing thousands of women, concluding that a significant majority has had sex with men they wanted to marry but were rejected, and ended up settling for the man who they are married to. Unless you can prove to me that the majority of women think this way, you've done nothing but make a long winded post about nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/20 01:07 PM
9

Funny that you're asking for specifics, given your whole post is a sweeping generalization. That's not how observations work. You need to be specific before you can make generalizations. Unless you interviewed thousands of women and their preferences, you haven't made an observation or generalization other than a extremely bias and out of touch one.

psychological pain is super complex and environmentally based. It's based on a learned history of whoever is feeling it (source: me, master's student in behavioral science). Fetuses have no such learned history, so I'm skeptical of them having "psychological pain", especially without a fully formed neural system. You're going off on hypotheticals now, which is not worth my time. It is a classic feature of literature to point out possible weaknesses in the study (that's how we grow as a science!)…

Listen, I get it. You're a father, so you're going to be more emotional about these kind of things. And that's okay, it's normal to have strong emotions, but the logic just isn't sound enough to see embryos as having the same value as a fully formed human. Most abortions happen in the embryonic stage, or the very early fetus stage, so you're making moot points. I never said it wasn't alive. I said it wasn't a fully formed human. Plants are alive, plants move. Microbes are alive, microbes move. Being alive isn't exclusive to the human being. What makes humans so special to you? I'm genuinely curious.
