I don't have a problem talking to girls, I'm trying to determine values and boundaries. I seek a relationship, not casual sex. There's no point talking to girls for a relationship if you don't know what you're after, you'll just end up wasting time with someone where things will die off after the honeymoon phase.

I don't think it's putting pussy on a pedestal because it elevates both participants. I'm putting relationships on the pedestal because without that, I don't see the point in living. We all need things to live for, and I see the romantic relationship as an ideal, albeit a very painful one. I've turned down women that I could have slept with. I have had one night stands where I've felt shit for it afterwards. I can woo other people's girlfriends if I wanted because I'm good at talking. I'm not hu…

I'm not sure it's self-hatred. It's that promiscuity in my partner gives me a sense that I am shameful. It makes me vulnerable to the others who have experienced that with them. If others can easily or plentifully have this experience, it makes the experience meaningless to me because its depth comes from exclusivity in the context of deep affection. Who should take me seriously if anyone could have my partner? I think this stems from values, status and power dynamics. I feel that I have been do…

All good. I have retroactive jealousy so I have no choice to have massive proclivities to worry about sexual history, shame, status and power dynamics, I can only mitigate it. That's why it has forced me to be more sperg about it.

There tends to be some evidence for having kids too, but yeah, getting any of the others right implies honesty, and if it's detected that honesty will threaten the match, you couldn't count on it. Having someone drunk before asking will more likely get truth, though that might be manipulative.

I don't know why it's so difficult to get to that stage to believe that has value. I suppose it has something to do with the altruism Ayn Rand talks about.

You're right. I made the choice a while ago, I just have feelings that linger.

Knowing your values and exploring philosophy. "Know Yourself". The less you know yourself, the less you know how to act because you don't know the actor. You go on what culture thinks you should want and pursue that instead of become who you are. Also develop critical thinking skills because when people are young, they believe ridiculous shit because of faith in some authority that seems to operate on a higher level of logic that you are currently capable of. Do YOU want to have sex with lots of…

Your parents must have no life at all, or extremely identified with being parents and can't let go into a new identity. In a way this is abuse. Preventing your kids from individuating can make them anxious, depressed and feel like they aren't all they could be in the world. Parents can disarm their kids for their own selfishness. How are they supposed to be confident? Your parents have the problem. Do whatever you want and do not alter what you want to do in case they get shitty with you.

I see what you are saying. It's a frustrating position to have them objectively do something wrong or hurtful, and somehow you bringing it up makes them upset, and now that they are hurt (from their own action), you are both somehow on equal argumentative footing because they are upset and it's your fault. It effectively makes your needs unimportant. Another tactic I see is they bring everything into the subjective. Just because you feel negative about their action doesn't mean they did anything…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
