No, you're just missing the point. Obviously you won't see it.

You keep saying "tone argument." I'm not suggesting that my initial argument is right because of your tone. I'm explicitly saying that I don't like the way you're treating me. I have a right to express dissatisfaction with your tone, so a tone argument is completely valid here. This all started with me saying you were being condescending. While I had no problem with the text you wrote, I was telling you you were being a bit of a jerk about it, with the expectation that you might actually care. N…

You do realize that you've spent no energy addressing my initial comment and all of your time personally insulting me. While I would be ok with the former, I won't stand for the latter.

Tone argument. There's that familiar demand to be pandered to in an echo chamber. No, right off the bat you just started being really condescending. No, I didn't. Quite frankly, your post was quite condescending. I said that I was from SRS and didn't want to be prejudged and look at the comment. Also, for the record, SRS isn't meant to be a discussion. There are more subreddits that allow discussion, the first of which I can think of is SRS Discussions, where being civil goes a long way.

Because I usually post on SRS and stated something in direct contradiction with what you have in the sidebar. Usually those two things are enough to incite some sort of negative reaction.

I'm not sure if my opinion is welcome here, but I think it's offensive to both groups for different reasons. With respect to what you said about it suggesting that men are simpler to please than women, I don't necessarily think it's a compliment to men. People are complicated beings with nuanced emotions and reducing someone to a few simple switches suggests that they're functioning at a lower level. It also makes it less acceptable for a man to express that he has emotions about more subtle iss…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
