Lol, watsongate. Watsongate was a woman mentioning in a video that "Hey, maybe propositioning someone to come back to your room for "coffee" at 3 am in an enclosed elevator could make someone feel a bit uncomfortable", and then everyone else blowing it out of proportion.

Outsider here, but I'm not sure you understand the point. It's not to meet a quota or anything. It's to counteract the fact that historically and even today they are discriminated against when it comes to jobs.

He told them not to dress like a slut. This is awful advice if you're trying to prevent rape anyway, as rapists tend to go for women who are conservatively dressed rather than ones who are provocatively dressed.

Let's be honest, it is kind of silly that whole suggestion. She was in her own house, in bed, next to her partner. Not exactly an unsafe situation. I mean, the big issue is, that that isn't the time to suggest people lock doors and windows. Maybe it is a good idea, but guess what? It's not tactful.

What exactly actions could they take? Most rapes are committed by someone one knows, so generally they trust them. The action you take is what, don't trust anyone ever? Studies have shown that dressing "slutty" has no effect on rape chances, in fact dressing conservatively increases it more than dressing "slutty". But you wouldn't suggest women stop you know, dressing normally, or conservatively, because that just sounds silly. The only other action they could maybe take is carrying a weapon aro…

Eh, it's odd because while men sometimes do that, it's generally them promoting it. There've been some surveys and what not,a nd honestly the more attractive characters to women generally aren't the hyper masculine ones. Nobody(well, most people) aren't attracted, to say Kratos, who is scantily clad and heavily muscled. He's a power trip, he also goes and fucks two women at once. You're being him.

Erm, notably, the over muscluar, hyper masculine isn't objectification. It's a power fantasy. The ability to be much bigger and tougher than you are in real life. And as for the Mass Effect thing, that's new. That's a very modern development for a reasonably attractive character who is you know, real. Same could be said for modern day Lara Croft and Nathan Drake.

Nobody advocates a quota system. You're attacking straw men. Many may be in support of affirmative action. All affirmative action does is make is so that, all other things equal, a minority gets an advantage, because they've been discriminated against in the past and still are.
