Also, in regards to the female body being designed for childbirth. If experiencing great pain during childbirth had no negative impact on fitness then there is no reason it would have evolved to be less painful.

I don't think it is acceptable to say to anyone. I think you need to realize that pain tolerance will vary, like any other trait, from person to person. Just because a person experiences more pain does not mean they are a wimp. They could have a different pelvic structure that makes giving birth harder work. They could also have natural chemical differences in their sensitivity or production of endorphins. There is even evidence of this in the study you cite, 65% of women delivered in 4 hours or…

I never said anything you are implying that I meant. Of course you can do things to ease the pain of birth, but do you think that brings the pain level down to just a head ache or something? It is obviously going to vary for every individual, even among people who prepare and do exercise just due to physiological differences. You make it sound like every woman who experiences a severe level of pain is just lazy. This obviously cannot be true. There are going to be varying pain tolerances from pe…

You're the one who made claims with no data! Even a very fit woman can still tear her vag or experience uterine prolapse.

Know any good womb exercises to try? Maybe some vagina stretching as well.

I don't think it is the experience that increases the pain tolerance, but a difference in body chemistry. It would make sense evolutionarily you would have to admit.

why does she need any other justification besides her feelings then? Endless relativism.

Why is it more justifiable for her to respect his wishes than for him to respect hers? And I agree with you, if neither of them can compromise they should not continue to be married! No, wanting to be pregnant is the fundamental reason our species has continued. If humans were completely rational beings we would never reproduce. Reproduction is not exactly a logical process. And how is raising a child a more logical thing to want than being pregnant? You want to raise a child because that is you…

Wouldn't an adopted child also be a reminder of that for his entire life?

Isn't every person who has a child selfish then?

Unfortunately human beings are pretty interested in their genetic material, otherwise they wouldn't have so much sex. But that doesn't mean they can't have altruistic behaviors as well.

You act like wanting to be pregnant is just something silly. If you can acknowledge a man's instinctual desire to have his own genetic offspring then why can you not acknowledge what a powerful instinct a woman must have to be pregnant? Same kind of thing. You can't say one is "better" or more justified than the other, it is just the human condition.

Of course his feeling is justified. He can feel however he wants. But does that mean his side of the argument is justified? No.

So what about his wife's feelings? Her feelings aren't just as valid? You can't win arguments/make decisions just based on feelings. There isn't a way to defend them. I don't understand how you can say that he can make the decision based on his when her feelings are just as strong. Obviously someone has to compromise, but it is silly to say his position is any more justified. If you look at it, one of them MUST sacrifice something and go against their feelings. He must sacrifice his jealousy, bu…

Of course everyone makes snap judgments based on their emotions. But I think a decision like this should be reached through logic. But I guess that isn't really how a lot of people operate is it. If he can't get over being a cry baby about it she will just have to divorce him or cave in.

Of course, but that isn't at all relevant to the question...

So you think that it is justified to make major life decisions based on jealousy? That seems a little infantile don't you think?

Wait, how is adoption okay but a child that is 50% your wifes not okay? You would rather raise the child of complete strangers than one who has 50% of the genetics of the person you love most in the world? I would think that if you married the woman you love her and would like to see part of her in your children. I am just interested in the justification for this feeling, other than jealousy.

Jizzing in a vagina is a man's instinctual reproductive act. Being pregnant/giving birth is a woman's reproductive act. You honestly think she should not be able to experience this because her husband is jealous that she has viable gametes? What if hypothetically she agreed to have another woman's egg and another man's sperm implanted in her, do you think his reaction would be justified then?

I highly doubt it has to do with genetics, she most likely just wants to experience pregnancy. Y U NO SEE THAT?

Have you ever even bothered to look at what causes a woman's uterus to expel it's lining? Hormonal changes, including a dip in progesterone. This dip in progesterone is what causes the mood swings. This is why hormonal birth control lessens PMS symptoms.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
