He blew up his career after we told our family we were pregnant, but it’s so interesting that you felt the need to insult me.

Women make the same mistake. I’d be fine with if he would clean the house instead of just telling people he does. Our kid is ashamed to invite friends over. I can’t be the breadwinner, the mom, the organizer of everything, and keep the house clean. I have to leave something for him to do. I have floated the idea of getting a house cleaning service and he blocked that (because that’s what he tells people he contributes). Also hi I hope you see this John.

Let me guess! The things she wanted you to work on were all about helping more with the kids and the house and this is not the first time she’s asked for this help.

Your texting behavior should always match hers. If she wants to text a lot or a little, follow her lead

This is true. Be good to yourself and shine as bright as you can.

Never forget that he can be a career-oriented hard worker one day and then just decide to quit his job the next. The man you want is the one who cares about how his choices affect you.

Idk who needs to hear this, but when someone breaks up with you it is only ever for one reason: they no longer saw you as their best option. He either got interested in someone else, or being single became more appealing than your relationship. There is never any other reason.

This happened to me when I was 23. Once he believed I didn’t want a relationship, it was all he wanted.

Greg still can’t find the scissors. She left him three years ago and he’s been walking around with the tags still on new his clothes

I am so empowered by FDS. Last weekend I went to test drive a used Porsche. The sales guy right off the bat went total scrote, talking down to me, negging me, trying to get me to commit to buying the car before he’d let me test drive it, trying to see what he could get out of me. FDS kicked into gear and I walked away, the guy calling after me “this car isn’t going to last long, better make up your mind quick.” I laughed all the way home thinking how much the experience was like a blind date wit…

All that plus years of respect and friendship don’t even make an HVM. All that matters are his actions once you’re in the relationship.

Once had a bf insist he was 6’0 though he was clearly 5’10 at the most. Never understood why until I started reddit.

A man’s words mean NOTHING. Actions show you what they’re really thinking. A guy once asked me to marry him, then asked me to move in with him, then broke up with me because “things are moving too fast.” Like ya fool, you’re the one moving things. Six months later he begged for another chance, told me he loved me and never wanted to lose me again, and then stood me up. Bye boy.

Seconding this comment; I was vegan for a few years, vegetarian longer, and people really do react as if you’re shaming them, merely by being, and they do try to talk you in to eating meat. I think the comparison to porn is really smart!

I agree with everything said here, just wanted to add that I think it’s because of patriarchy. They are socialized not to see us as equals. How can you love someone you subconsciously view as your inferior?

There was a professor at UF who kept a running count of days until the Olsen twins turned 18 on his blackboard. He would open each class by updating it. It went on for more than a year.

This is a thing with dating apps. Men will use them to find women to flirt with and get a little attention from, but they have no intention of ever meeting.
