read atomicparrot's comment. it is illegal for women to hold combat positions in the U.S. army. true story. in fact there is a pretty widespread movement that is fighting for a woman's right to "commit the ultimate sacrifice." let's figure that part out before blaming women's willingness.

I can tell you, 100%, that this author completely missed the point.
