Many men would love to spend more time at home with the kids, but fear being penalised at work for it. Childcare, especially when the kids are very young or naughty and hard to deal with, can be hard work - but it's very rewarding. It's the subtext. By saying boys need this, and by talking about listening to victims of "MALE violence" (not just violence), she's saying that without these lessons, boys are likely to become violent. When you consider that the vast majority of men (and women) are decent people who don't need to be told that violence is wrong, you should be able to see how offensive this is.

Agreed. I am sick of reading arrogant screeds by women that confidently state some negative trait that applies to all men. Some of this is partly the fault of mainstream media, especially adverts for cleaning products that use offensive male stereotypes for comedy value. Intelligent women know those stereotypes aren't true if they think about it, but it must have an effect on their subconscious thought processes.

I find a good way to change someone's mind is to compare it to murder. Men are the majority of murderers and victims, but should we ignore female perps and victims because they're a minority? No? The American law is very cleverly worded. Too clever, in fact, because explanatory notes were added to point out it applies in female-on-male rape cases. It requires penetration - sure - and does not mention envelopment / "made/forced to penetrate" - BUT it does not state who the victim is.
