Honestly, I think if she doesn't understand that then she's just not the right girl for you. I'm a girl and if I were on a date making out a guy who left me to help someone like that I'd respect him more.

The issue of helping the child aside and dealing with the point of the article, the image of men around children, wouldn't not helping only inadvertently serve to perpetuate the all men are pedophiles hysteria? If men with good intentions feel uncomfortable approaching a child because of the potential negative repercussions it still leaves the men with bad intentions opportunity to approach.
