Most dudes can’t signal interest until they’re drunk too. Take it as a compliment. They like you but need some liquid courage to make a move. Alternatively you move before they are drunk and keep in mind that they may be nervous and shy at first.

I’ve also noticed that the married friends who put the most pressure on me to marry are the ones in the worst marriages.

Yeah, this seems on point. He’s a long time friend and has always been good to me when it matters so I don’t plan to go anywhere. I typically just ignore what he does and let him twist in the wind. But he also always does this stuff in front of his wife and part of me wants to say “hey dude you’re reeking of insecurity in front of your family, knock it off.” I might say that sometime when alone.

I second this. It is life changing and gets better as you go further into it. It also helps other activities; for me, it’s benefitted my lifting, rock climbing and focus at my job.

You should say something. Nothing may come of it, but just maybe you’ll serve as a wake up call. If nothing changes, ghost him.

I agree with this. Phone calls seem to scare girls off sometimes. While they may signal more confidence they can also signal too much interest.

Not sure. I did a different program in the cut than In the bulk. It’s likely my lifts went down during the cut and then back up during the bulk.

The first one was just body language. Standing up straight and making eye contact opened a new world for me.

Go. You have to learn how to handle yourself in these kinds of situations, so you may as well get the practice. Go and limit your drinking, make small talk with as many people as you can, and leave early if it starts getting out of control. In reality, everyone is awkward and nervous at these things, which is why people tend to get so drunk. It’s actually a good opportunity to practice confident body language and listening over speaking.

Agree with other posters that one month is a silly goal. But, in one month you can drop 6 pounds of fat, develop proper face/skin/grooming habits, practice standing tall and exhibiting confident body language, and buy some elevator shoes. You'll notice a difference in your attraction level with all that and can then continue to build on it.

In my opinion, the premise that showing your emotions is a good/healthy thing is blue pill nonsense. We should know how to control our emotions. That’s a good, healthy thing. Emotions are instructive and tell you about how your mind and body are reacting to various events, but externally reacting to them is typically a mistake, and that applies to women too when they do it.

fwiw, I very much like thinking of frame as composure. There may be certain attributes of frame that are not completely captured by composure, but it is a much simpler way to think about it, which is critical in real time when speaking with people. I can take a deep breath to maintain my composure. Can I take a deep breath to hold frame? I have no idea -- frame is too complicated to sort out in an instant where it matters, at least at the level of TRP I am at.
/r/TheRedPill21/09/19 12:18 PM

Think of it as an opportunity to demonstrate your frame. You’re a busy man focused on your mission. You’re going to sleep by 10pm and there’s nothing she can do to change that. Don’t make more a deal about it than you need to and never make any apologies for it.

Yes, it’s changed formats over the years, but is incredibly helpful for tracking long term progress. Right now, I am just using something I read in stoic books — I answer 3 questions each night: Where did I fail? What did I do? What is left to do? I elaborate on important things but always make sure to just answer those three things and run through the day in my head.

Read Robert Green’s Mastery if you haven’t. And if not, just google a summary. There is a very relevant part about using the first few months to quietly observe and learn. Also, that the biggest obstacles to your success at first will be insecurity and boredom. Don’t feel the need to impress people in the beginning, and other useful nuggets.

Following up: this is definitely an effective boost in frame. It helps keep me more positive and confident throughout the day, but also when I enter a situation that makes me a little anxious, just repeating the mantra in my head makes me happy and more confident. Interestingly, I am rereading The Charisma Myth and in that book it says metta meditation is the single most effective thing you can do to counter your inner critic.

I used to think I had a few platonic female friendships, then I got in shape, became attractive and they all changed on me. They didn't necessarily start hitting on me, but they became more flakey and anxious with me, making me realize they were only my friend when they weren't attracted to me. The ones with boyfriends/husbands disappeared completely.

Read up on IOIs and approach invitations. The eye contact sounds like they wanted you to approach and talk to them, which is good. The nice to meet you could be nothing -- just awkward small talk on the way out of a party. The blonde girl was practically begging for you to get her number and take her out, not that you need to take her out to eat. The school thing could be nothing or could be something, but you would need more information before knowing. Essentially, if she kept shitting on…

You’re exercising caution and qualifying them. Some of this is done with body language (not leaned in, but sitting back), some is done with letting her do 70 percent of the talking so she feels she’s being interviewed not the other way around, and then some is done by asking questions that put her slightly in defensive (what do you like to do for fun, do you travel, so you have a lot of friends). If she’s attracted to you and you are doing all this, she will feel like she’s got to impress you. I…

Read The Charisma Myth. The basic argument is that charisma is just a combination of presence, power and warmth. For TRP, think meditation to increase presence and focus, body language and vocal tone to project power, and smile/smirk and kino to show warmth. Also, listen more than you talk.

The best thing that helped me was learning to read body language. Once I was able to read songs of anxiety in other people, I saw how much everyone suffers from social anxiety. Knowing everyone around you is nervous is empowering in a way and makes me more confident and care less about what they think of me.

Simple things like dressing well, confident body language, applying some things from the charisma myth book, not frame control so much as just learning to shut up more and let others talk. My job interview process I did less than 50 percent of the talking which was a lesson from game I used. It worked great — people love you when they do all the talking.

Sometimes women like this are the most nervous people in the room and this is their coping mechanism. Watch body language for signs of deep anxiety (arm rubbing, neck touching, etc.). If that’s what you see, just listen and smirk confidently. She wants your approval, not the other way around.

I have been practicing stoicism for about six months now and it has had a profound impact on frame. Before stoicism, trying to demonstrate a strong frame was an exercise of trying to remind myself to "be alpha" or that "I am enough" whenever I felt anxiety come up in conversations with women and other people. Stoicism teaches you that your negative emotional reactions are un-constructive; that you should be indifferent to the opinions of others; and that you are supposed to have compassion for o…
