Thank god I found reasonable people in this thread and not just spiteful men. The world would be a better place if everyone approached life with this mindset.

Right?! Why is this dude so spiteful? I am very conscious of being polite to both men and women as a woman myself.

Why did I not know that an engagement ring doesn’t belong to the receiver? I had no idea that whoever proposed and “gave” the ring had any right to it after they gave it?!?! I’m a 30-year-old American woman and it’s blowing my mind that I had no clue about this.

Not sure, I browse a lot and don’t comment. I guess it just peeves me when I see a statement that makes a non-gender related issue into something that a lot of women do when really it’s just a lot of people do it. I’m not saying this about the original post though; I think she’s dumb/delusional as hell for thinking he was mansplaining anyway. I like browsing this sub and also r/niceguys for the same reason - they make me realize how delusional people really are lol

I agree with you. I just used the term mansplaining in my comment because that’s the term the chick used in the original convo, but it’s just condescension/patronizing regardless of gender. And that’s what I was trying to say, it’s not just ‘many modern day women’ that act like this.

I mean, to be fair, there are probably just as many men that don’t know the difference either. I’m a woman, and it’s very clear to me that there was no ‘mansplaining’ going on here and that she is quite a hypocrite.

i think it’s important to note that it’s not ‘modern women’ but ‘some modern women.’ i am a woman and this chicks reaction infuriates me. i hate women that think like this- like a lot of the stuff i see on r/femaledatingstrategy … holy fuck. i also think there are people within any ‘group’ that play this victimhood. the number of men i talk to that talk about how hard they have it with dating compared to women and how ‘unfair’ it is. gtf over it lol. idk, maybe it’s because my parents purposely …

“Let me offer to pay for your dinner to look like an alpha male but, just a fair warning, I will send you a venmo bill for it in a week when you decide you don’t want to talk to me anymore.” Makes so much sense..... /s

THIS is the wisdom right here. If they’re worth pursuing, they will go along with this. If they don’t go along with this, they’re not worth pursuing. Though some people (not me) are hesitant to give out numbers, but I think the planning to meet relatively quickly is the answer. I can’t stand long drawn out messaging.

Oh ffs... And this is why I never wholeheartedly believe anything anymore. The internet is such a blessing and a curse 🤦🏼‍♀️ He says he would never talk to a woman like that but tbh I don’t think there was anything wrong with it if it was actually real. A little excessive and loud, yes, but totally out of line? Not in my (female) opinion

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
