2023 she told me she didnt love me. I kept trying with requests for counseling, date nights, etc. July 2024 we went on a trip to DC and busch, just the 2 of us. No conversation, no contact, no emotion... we were strangers sharing a room and car and meals. Walking near each other at the museums, usually not even that much. Thats when I knew without any doubt it was dead. Oct 2024 she started refusing dates, and refused any more counseling / therapy. Jan 2025 she moved out.

Because for many states they use equitable distribution, not equal distribution. They want the woman to walk away with extra since the guy will continue making more in the future.

How long ago was the physical separation? Mine started beginning of 2025. I had and still have the exact same feelings for months. Anxiety amped it up. In moments of weakness I would hop on the apps to see whats out there, but I know Im not ready. When clarity returned, I was able to shut the nonsense back down. NC is no fault, but spousal support can be eliminated for adultery. But adultery can be ignored if both did it, or if they are considered reconciled after admission, that is in cases of forgiven or condoned.

Fort Bragg? ...1yr separation is a NC rule. What I have read (not a lawyer) is that common NC practise is half the years of marriage. But after 20yrs, they might make it permanent if the judge has belief that the ex wont be able to recover before retirement age. So its pretty high chance of outcome for you, depending on your ex's whole situation (income making ability, etc).

I was also the one who was emotionally, financially, and socially carrying the work for our family (2 dau). I was worn down to the point where I resented her entirely. To the point where I was overwhelmed with the feeling that nothing I try in life matters. I let it go on way too long to try and save the dead marriage. Once we got to the point when she said she doesnt love me, it took me approx 1.5y to grieve and cut her out of my heart. Still dealing with depression and anxiety about future, bu…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
