1	Needed to Vent That depends on you. Personally, I would consider elementary and middle school because those age groups are more impressionable than high schoolers. High schoolers often (not all, of course) have an I-don't-care attitude, so reaching them could be hard. You can still teach history at the middle school level and social studies at the elementary school level. I should say that there is an oversaturation of high-school history teachers in the US.
