Hey, I met him when I was in dermatology for my eczema, he was pretty nice. Glad to see he’s standing up for men.

I don’t mean it as a blanket statement, the difference is that the usual argument is that the police threw them in jail rather than the law is fucked.

Which is ironic when they spend so much time covering up for Muslim rape gangs.

Just because you’re opinions align more with one group doesn’t mean you agree with all of their points. I think this sub has more of a problem with the current state of the legal system rather than just a dislike of police (an extension of which being police that go outside their roles negatively.) The left on the other hand seems to have a fundamental hatred of police and blame their problems on them rather than the legal system.

Sorry, I meant to say a gun control issue. Guns are easier to get both legally or illegally in America, but violent crime in America is comparable to other countries. I think the rules that exist should be enforced properly before people add new laws that won’t be enforced. But different countries have their own violent problems, I live in N. Ireland were guns are banned, there is still occasional shootings but a fair few stabbings occurred and Bombings aren’t as uncommon.

The whole modern day school shooting is more a mental health issue than a gun issue, most if not all have either had their guns illegally or else the fbi/army haven’t kept their systems up to date (Sutherland Springs). It makes sense that men are more frequent, it’s because men are most susceptible to severe bouts of depression, it’s a different kind of shooting and mindset. Edit: Also thanks for the nice conversation :)

I think it’s the first school shooter that didn’t have any grudge or reason other than mental health issues, most of the older ones were because teachers were whipping students or other things. Edit: a lot of older school shootings were targeted, or gunfights or else massacres that had a school in a catchment area, this is the first school shooting that was indiscriminate targeting of a school in order to maximise casualties.

Finding someone does have a bit to do with it (wouldn’t exclusively say women, gay men earn quite high on average) it has a lot to do with the inherently competitive nature of men who succeed, women can be attracted to it. (however it may be seen as a method to facilitate that women’s satisfaction eg. working less or security) I wouldn’t really call any broad stroke as materialistic, I would just say that men and women as a whole are opportunistic and it’s not a bad thing, as long as both people…

I agree that there is a certain point we will reach equilibrium in the STEM fields but I doubt it would be anywhere close to 50/50. Also about the choice, for every Einstein and Marie Curie we have, we probably have 50 people who want to set up artisan coffee shops, despite doing well at their A levels. The point I’m making here is that if you are measuring productivity by wages and the amount of women in science, then if it’s their only choice there will be a greater number of scientists (doesn…

It’s not even that complicated, in a lot of cases women are happier not working 70 hours a week in a high stress job while having to be aggressive to get the job done. Don’t get me wrong there are women who will excel, just as there are men that are more content to enjoy themselves and avoid high stress jobs, but the fact that women can find satisfaction outside of pay is part of the reason why they in general have much better mental health.

In general there isn’t many options for women in Iran so they do science degrees at a higher percentage than in the US. https://www.forbes.com/sites/amyguttman/2015/12/09/set-to-take-over-tech-70-of-irans-science-and-engineering-students-are-women/ The problem with the “wage gap” (it doesn’t exist it’s an earnings gap explained mostly by choice then by certain biological factors eg. Risk adverseness, Physical strength, Men systematise while women empathise) is that it looks at one metric and ass…

I think that statement has more to do with the idea that you will do better when the only other option is servitude, there really isn’t a safety net if you fail.

I agree with you that the woman’s studies example is used to much. In general men tend to be asset driven creatures, were status and wealth are of major importance, this will usually lead men into degrees that are more profitable (such as petroleum engineering or in my case economics I’m in Northern Ireland so that’s the outlier in the case). This is compared with women who tend to be more individualistic in their goals, this usually leads to women working towards their passion than what would g…

I don’t really think this article is a men’s rights issue, this is just talking about suicide and bullying with the victim being a girl and the article doesn’t try and make it a gendered issue. Please don’t start doing the same thing that rabid feminists use when a guy gets sexually assaulted, (“but but the vast majority of Women are the victims of sexual assault, but this isn’t mentioned”) unless the article is asserting that women suffer more from suicide or something to that effect, then ther…

A trans person is still biologically the sex they were born, it doesn’t matter what’s been done to them surgically. Some people can treat them as if they are the gender they want to be and that’s fine, but no one should be forced to, so in the eyes of most people that person is still their biological gender. Also you can’t force someone to change their preferences for any reason and forcing yourself on someone is sexual assault.

Don't really think she would would bring people back, the paramilitaries here don't really do that stuff anymore (especially in the city). It's more to do with the fact that its the middle of the student area and the business that they do is insane at that time of night, so it would be a hassle keeping her there.
/r/PussyPassDenied15/12/17 05:18 PM

It’s the street it’s on, I worked at a 24 hour shop around the corner and it’s the middle of a student area bordering council estates so it gets pretty rough and shops sometimes just think it’s better to let them go than having to deal with them. Also certain people here really don’t trust the police. (Though my experience has been fine I can understand why)

It's not even that, when we talk like this it's like we're playing into their oppression hierarchy which really bugs me. If the problems are gone or else mostly gone (and the remaining factor is adjustment time) then it shouldn't be an issue.

The problem with this is that some people don't make the distinction between the IRA and the Irish and assumes everyone supports it, it's awful what they did but the British army was a government led army not a Paramilitary and therefore needs to be held accountable as an organisation which the IRA can't be because it it isn't an official army with a known chain that can be held accountable. Edit: sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting it's just something that gets on my tits

I remember getting shit from an SJW for having "white privilege" which is funny cause I'm Irish from Northern Ireland, the place we're until two decades ago the army were allowed to intern someone and torture them based on the fact that they're Irish, but you know white privilege etc. Edit: a word

Yeah I think over the course of the next twenty or so years standards in the work force will change but until then I think that schools should continue to educate students in the best way tonget a job.

Yes I get that a guy can't magically spout a full beard after school every day but for the majority most teenage beards are pretty awful until they're in their early twenties and its easier just to say that no facial hair that to tell each kid individually that they have a bad beard.

Unfortunately even if you aren't going to school for it to be a fashion show many students are, this can lead to bullying and cliques and kids can be demons at school so giving them anything that they can use as fuel just makes it 100 times worse. It's easier to set a clear standard to all students rather than doing it on a case by case basis which leads to more problems, your adult life gives you plenty of time to express yourself, it seems unfair but its a lesson which enables us to grow and u…

I agree with that, I don't think men should be forced to have their hair short but I think if you are going to school you should at least put some effort in to making yourself look appropriate, also showering regularly but that's just something people should do in general.

My school did require you to turn up with your hair tidy and there was limits on what the length of a boys hair should be. It's a matter of opinion one way or another but a business owner has the right to reject you based on wether or not you wear jeans or dress trousers, so teaching kids to take care of their appearance for a few hours a day for a small portion of their lives can have a positive effect on them, even if they don't use that skill set in later life it's a worthwhile thing for them…

I'm not from America and all the schools where I live have gender neutral kids uniforms. From an outside perspective it seems like the rules for elementary school children trickle down from the rules that highschool kids have to follow which results in hilarious cases of overreactions to what would be considered normal childhood behaviour. However when it comes to clothing and personal appearance I think that it is right for schools to enforce some sort of dress code, a school is a place were yo…

I think it's because most teenage facial hair is very untidy and I think that that is a problem that most schools have with it.

Definitely, I tried it for a few years and just realises it wasn't for me, but it really hate it when people who have stopped eating meat for a month start preaching like they were baptised into some sort of cult, maybe its just because of what stage in my life I'm at (university) that that's all I really seem to see.

Yes but does everyone around you have to know that you are a vegan when there is absolutely no reason for you to of said, or if you have to tell everyone that they are worse than Hitler if they eat meat? Probably not because if you've been vegan for 30 years it isn't for some fashion statement like those "super enlightened" teenagers.

To be fair to the cop he said that he had already talked to someone, (Couldn't clearly make it out but it had to do with CPS) he warned the mother that the concert was going to become louder and that more people were going to be going into the pit so the risk to the child would increase.
