The other thing I thought of is that women's college enrollments outnumber men's roughly 6 to 4 these days. Few women enroll in in CS, so they went for the easy money. My son says the School of Engineering had their budget reduced by 20% so something was going to get the axe.

My son attends University of Cincinnati in a different engineering program. Trust me, they are NOT hurting for money! They seem to have all the cash they want for new buildings and the kinds of things that bring in students. Even from the time he applied until the school year started last year they added a 7% tuition hike. My guess is they get federal subsidies for minority/womens studies programs, but a program like CS doesn't give them the same ROI. Overall I like UC, but you have to put up wi…

So he was somewhere between Social Space and Public Space. Definitely a rapist. Only a rapist would violate a woman's Social Space! Tase his sorry ass and throw him in jail!

"...came up within several feet of her personal space." So coming close to someone's "personal space", a completely arbitrarily defined space, is now a reportable offense?

Get a lawyer. It's worth it. Court clerks can, and will, reject all paperwork that is not filled out in the precise format and detail they expect. If you are going to get divorced, it is going to affect the rest of your life. Invest in a lawyer to get the paperwork right, and if possible agree on the details of your divorce ahead of time, and get an anullment. What you spend on the lawyer up front (probably $1000-$1500) is much less than what you could end up paying in the long run in the form o…

For the record I have yet to have either of the first two. Either one sounds like thinly veiled butt rape to me. I take your point, my point was the hijacking of the term "rape" to cover what I feel amounts to bad behavior by medical staff. Also, I may have been drinking when making my earlier post.

So a colonoscopy is rape. A prostate exam is rape. A trip to the dentist is rape. Everything is rape. At some point we have to quit letting the nut cases re-define every aspect of life to fit their extremist agendas.

From my own experience I can add: Have documentation of EVERYTHING! Judges love preparation and documentation. If she moves in with or dates someone else and brings your kids around them, collect any publicly available information on them (DUI, prison time, etc...) Always be available to take your kids if the other offers. Cancel your night out with your buddies, whatever. Always be there for your kids, and keep receipts of everything you buy for them.

I received (a little) child support for the last ten years. (One of the rare dad's who gets custody) Each state has their own formula for calculating child support. In Ohio, their goal is to more or less "equalize" the children's living environment in each parent's home. The system is far from fair, the calculation of support is far from fair, and their enforcement of it is about two years behind. I believe it would be horrendously unfair to ask the custodial parent to document every how every d…
