Always remember, there's a relatively hard limit to how much you can save and invest; there's a minimum cost to living in a modern society between food, shelter, clothing, etc that no reasonable amount of frugality can overcome. But there's almost no ceiling on the amount you can earn. Focus on big wins. (Maybe Bill Gates'/Warren Buffet/Jeff Bezos are hard limits, but that isn't the point) Income - Expenses = X Increase X to get wealthy. Maximize X to get wealthy faster.

you can't time the market Not trying to. I'm trying to do it in a reactionary way, having capital saved up so that I can buy at 25 cents on the dollar. No one knows when it'll happen, but it will happen. That's literally the definition of timing the market. Time in the market beats timing the market every time. https://qz.com/487013/this-game-will-show-you-just-how-foolish-it-is-to-sell-stocks-right-now/ Play this game about 10 times the next time you're pooping. If this doesn't illustrate the p…

Just got my first full time job. $10.25 per hour, upwards of 40hrs a week, so I'm super excited about that. Planning on putting ~15% of monthly income into an investment account, anyone have any suggestions? Take that bi-weekly $123 pretax and invest in something that will increase your income. Moving your hourly wage from $10.25 to something like $15 - $18 (or a 50 to 80% nominal increase) in 2 years will be far and away more beneficial than investing $240/month in equities that will grow at 6-…

Failed failed failed failed Have you thought about focusing on doing less? Pick out 2 or 3 things from your list of failures that are important and ignore the rest of that shit for now. Will power, like anything else, needs to be trained; you quite literally don't have the work capacity to accomplish all the stuff you want to get done. Try shelving the rest and narrow your focus. You failed to make a schedule. It's clearly not that important. Create some systems to develop habits IE you don't "w…

General irrationality and a lack of concern for my safety and the safety of others is upsetting. It's not absent mindedly texting and walking. It's texting and driving 80 mph in a 2 ton death machine.

Short hot pink shorts are only gay if you don't have bouldering quads and thundering hamstrings to show off beneath them.

I can see that. The "why" a messy car is so annoying to me. That seems like next level metacognition. Needs more meditation.

Intro First OYS post. Looking to take more control of my sexual relationship with my wife. We have sex 2 or 3 times a week, but its vanilla. I want more better. Usual story. Discovered TRP ~3 months ago, have been working through the sidebar reading material, but with a more recent focus on application. I can identify some alpha traits in myself, and more beta traits, too. Reading NMMNG is sometimes a really chilling look in the mirror, other times it describes traits I naturally identified in m…
