I've been considering this. I've been lifting for the last 4 months now, making strides in my career, laying the foundations of a startup, and have gotten closer to my family. I've gotten my shit together. Thanks for the perspective, I appreciate your and fnordsnord's advice. I'll probably just take a break from women if I do end it, to much to do and not enough time.

I guess I should give a little background. We've been together 4 years, and this is the first time she's ever spoken to another guy. I knew when she was talking to him because he was in the same career as her and encouraged her to reach out to jump start hers. My frustration is that her last point of contact was a month off from what she told me. Last point of contact was several months ago though. I feel like bringing it up and ending it would make me feel and come off as butt hurt and revengef…

You're right. I've received similar advice, just a bit hard to swallow learning about it now. Things aren't where I'd like them to be, but it's been steadily getting there. Was thinking of going this route, but wanted to hear what the RP community had to say.

For starters my situation is different for some of the guys here. I'm not married so walking out is easier for me than others. She is the one who made the case to break up so I OK'd it. Wouldn't I be a beta bitch if I said "No don't lets stay together please?" I didn't care if we stayed together, because I am taking care of myself now. I am lifting 5 days a week and doing me. If you read the post I mentioned, read other peoples stories, learn what works for you. This worked for me, never told an…

I feel like it's so easy just to respond back with hi and the conversation to go no where. Are you saying they'd say hi and add something to the conversation afterwards if they were interested?

You are right, I need to do me and not care about the consequences. If she tags along so be it, but it's me that matters in the end. Thank you for this. As her partner though, do I make her aware of this new focus, or do I just do me and she can figure it out from there, or is there a RP method to this where it's a mix of both?

I was going to reply with this: "Within the last 4 years, she has stuck with me through the really shitty times, so I don't really see how that idea may be too farfetched." But then I thought about it. Did she just stay knowing that once things got stable (income, life turbulences, etc) she can just sit back, relax, pressure me to marry, then enjoy the pampered life? She comes off as an independent woman but after observing her actions lately and discovering TRP, I see that she probably isn't, a…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
