It makes me somewhat hopeful that the vast majority of the comments on that Instagram post are condemning them for naming her as an ambassador. And almost all of them are women.

“I slapped him because I felt threatened” No, you slapped him because you were angry and your instinct was to lash out with violence.

But should we really be “uncancelling” Johnny after this? Maybe, maybe not. It’s hard to say considering Heards accusations were never proved in court either. However, even if we aren’t ‘uncancelling’ Johnny, at the very least she should be cancelled. It won’t happen, but it should.

This reminds me of the story I heard about a father with his baby in a parking lot, where another woman grabbed his child and ran. When he gave chase, she yelled out that he was trying to kidnap her child. The crowd of people rushed him and beat him while the woman attempted to escape. She only got caught because the mother came out and saw what was going on and chased down the woman herself.

This is just sad for that kid. He’s clearly super excited about seeing his dad, and all he can hear is his mum telling his dad to leave. That ain’t right.

The last two paragraphs is the story behind the story. While she manipulated the system, the police who bundled the investigation in the first place got off with no punishment.

The title of this is misleading. He was convicted of manslaughter, not murder. This was because while the incident wasn’t his fault, he was responsible as the owner of the boat.

I’m confused, I couldn’t find anything in this article about feminists wanting written consent from mothers. Did I miss something?

This is really my own point of view, but for me, a false accusation is the act of deliberately providing a fake statement to police, with the intent of using the judicial system to harm or penalise another person. The intent makes all of the difference.

That went in a direction I wasn’t expecting. I’m not American, so I can’t be sure, but I get the impression that these girls essentially getting away with what they did comes down to societies current views around the idea of men being bad, women being good. I don’t think it has to do with political parties.

If a man ‘mansplains’ something to another man, and there no feminists around, did it happen at all?

Decades of a history that was not as heavily scrutinised by the main stream media, and where everything wasn’t broadcast around the world within minutes of it happening. In the same way that the horse and infantry methods of war used in ww1 and earlier, are almost completely unusable in modern conditions, so is the idea of copying what other movements did in the past. Certainly we should be learning from the mistakes and their successes, but we shouldn’t also blindly fall into the trap of carbon…

4 year, 7 year, and 9 year sentences. Not nearly enough for any of them for sexually abusing children. This is just fucked up all round.

This is true. Take the movie Magic Mike (I think there was even a sequel??). Could you imagine the uproar had the genders been reversed?

I agree with this, although I'm not sure it has to do with sexuality, as it does have to do with gender. I'm a hetero dad with 2 kids, and when I take them to the park, I get strange looks from mums and I have been asked several times if I'm "babysitting" the kids for mummy in that condescending tone. I think when they see men with a child, it goes against what they perceive to be normal, as opposed to when they see women with a child. This only based on my experience though.

Very true, but we need to be careful that as a group, we are not all branded as having the view of a minority.

Condoms are 98% effective, birth control is 99% effective. Even when using both at the same time, they can still both fail. Only way to ensure no babies is to not have sex.

Completely agree. As much as we might love someone, that love isn't going to change their behaviour, and it certainly won't defend you if the violence escalates. Your wife needs to recognise the problem, and want to actively change her own behaviour. You can't change it for her, nor can you convince her that it needs to change.

Would you still say the same if it the roles were reversed? Not sure this video would be up for even half the time if it opened with him setting off a mousetrap on her genitals.

How sad are you? Seriously, what is it that someone has said or down to make you so angry towards women? There is nothing sexist about a man or even a woman wanting a child without the opposite sex, but to label all women useless beyond reproduction is sexist. And it's not the same thing. People like you are what is holding back the men's rights movement and providing ammunition to those who oppose it. If you truly want the men's rights movement to go forward, do us all a favour and stop talking…

Some men looking for surrogate mothers does not justify hate speech against an entire gender. In the same way that some women seeking sperm donors does not justify hate speech against men, and levelling them as only useful for reproductive purposes. To claim that either sex is only useful for reproduction, and to then liken that sex to a chained up animal, is hate speech, and not wanted in this sub. Take your 'views' elsewhere.

Not the right place for this crap. This sub is about men's rights, not how much you dislike women. That sort of trash should be taken elsewhere.

Do you mean Erin Pizzey? The woman who opened the FIRST domestic shelter in the modern world? Who is now banned from that shelter (and countless others) because she wanted to fight for male victims of domestic violence?

The gender pay gap they're trying to tackle is non-existent, and essentially a good way for some more public servants to do as little as possible while being paid ridiculous salaries. However, they do try and tackle some things that I am glad for. Such as increasing paternal leave for fathers, and increasing the amount of men in female dominated industries such as education and health care.

Just another radicalised feminist. It's not even worth trying to debate these sorts of people with sound reasoning, facts, and logic. All you'll get back is abuse. Maybe one day we'll live in a world where people like this get no attention and can fade into the background, but while they're still being employed by universities to teach this nonsense, that may be a long way off.

Person gets married to a financially independent person, then becomes main breadwinner within the new family. Is now responsible for 90% of the finances. Partner is still working and trying the best they can to further their career and financial status. Person worries about the ability to be a good and loving parent while also being so consumed by work, brought on by being the main breadwinner. Basically, she's just experienced what a vast majority of men are doing, and she's having a meltdown o…

Or even try school via correspondence. I have two children and currently completing my degree in computer science while working full time as well. It's not easy, but I can be done. I would speak to your school, explain the situation and see if they can accomodate you in any way.

This bothers me, not for the fact this person has this opinion (as much as I completely disagree, they have the right I have an opinion), but because certain people out there will try and link people of the men's rights movement with people like this.

I really wish my country (Australia) would do this. Highlighting the fact that both sexes can be victims of domestic violence. Of course, I'm sure White Ribbon would lose their shit (read funding) over it.

Why is it so hard to keep campaigns like this non-gender specific? Sexual assault and harassment against either gender is abhorrent, and the perpetrators should be investigated and punished, regardless of their gender.

What makes me upset is that this article and their law suit is based entirely around procedural fairness towards the boy. But nowhere is it mentioned that the girl was obviously not disciplined (how could she have been, if she was at school calling him a 'rapist' while he was on leave) while he is copping the entire blame for the incident. As if he was the only one responsible for an act they both voluntarily participated in. The private investigator, who was according to the boy, biased towards…

This is so true. White ribbon literally do nothing for any victims, whether male or female. Of all the money they raise, not one cent goes to helping anyone in crisis, not even counselling. It goes all to wages, travel expenses and advertising their next campaign. Essentially, they pedal whatever they can to increase their donations, therefor being able to increase their own salaries. It's disgusting.

Disregarding his sentence being more than his, her sentence is incredibly lenient to the point of being a joke. As a parent, she should be one person that her children can trust, and she abused that trust for her own gains and advantages, in one of the most disgusting way possible. If this was a father doing this, you can bet your house that he would have gotten a much harsher sentence.
