On one hand, OP should have made a direct move without worrying about whether it'd be a "one night thing". For all he knows she was waiting for him to do precisely this because perhaps that's all she wanted (from his point of view at the time, not in hindsight). Instead, he whiffed and his room-mate swept in clearly did not make that same mistake. Considering how dispensable this girl's sex is, it seems like a net negative move on the part of the friend. Even if he was looking to sleep with her …

the disclaimer was pretty funny. "I know what you guys really want to say, so don't."

Personally I think its a red flag. Agreed. For me, that's a pretty good indicator that she has a bad/non-existent idea of what femininity is or is just flat-out repulsed by the idea of it (that is a massive turn-off for me). She could just be very much into the attention that exists in a situation like that as well.

I remember an old girlfriend who would cry every time she had a bad dream. She would cry when she heard a sad story. She would cry when one of her friends got into a fight with her boyfriend. I called her once because I was having a stressful time dealing with selling a property of mine, and her response was "well, we all have problems." I will never forget that to my dying day, and that was the last time I ever showed my real emotions to a woman that wasn't my mother. Right or wrong, stuff like…

being emotional means being vulnerable, and being vulnerable means you are susceptible to be controlled/manipulated under just the right circumstances. i'm guessing that both men and women despise this because it represents a large hole in someones sense of autonomy.

I think this, coupled with the general reluctance for women to be honest about some of the more unflattering truths behind their sense of attraction, is a major reason why so many seem to have trouble being taken seriously by men and, to an extent, other women in the real world. It's kind of funny how so many of these problems are the direct result of game-playing from other, more manipulative women. I thought /u/amishbreakfast's comment was actually pretty spot-on.

Unlike comments on the internet, personal experience can never be invalidated by a convenient anecdote to the contrary.

I can accept that, but no central authority has any control over what red-pill means. I enjoy getting to know girls through conversation without having to jump into bed right away as well, and I don't think that being red-pill has to be against that. I also enjoy being assertive and standing against games, drama, or disrespect, and I consider this to be precisely what red-pill is about. It's about standing up for yourself even in instances where it may cost you good favor with women, especially …

I'm sure this will lead more of you to throw names at me, but I wonder what you'd do in a similar situation. I'm not totally sure anybody here would get themselves in that situation in the first place. For what it's worth, I personally believe that the vast majority of people who have progressive ideas regarding sex and relationships aren't very well prepared to live the lifestyles that their attitudes suggest, resulting in dilemmas like the one you're experiencing. If you viewed this girl stric…

To be fair though, I think you might be taking special offense to the blue-pill mockery because you consider it directed toward you because you don't consider yourself "alpha as fuck". From what little I know about you, that doesn't really seem to be the case since you're already aware that there's more to physical attraction than what any one person has to say about that. I also disagree with your distinction between alpha and beta, in that I think being "alpha" just means being deliberate, con…

I agree that things can be fairly extreme here, but isn't characterizing this sub as a bunch of dumped-on-conspiracy-theorists-trying-to-change-the-world a bit delusional in and of itself? I subscribe here but mainly because it's the only way to release frustration without facing serious social fallout, not because I'm trying to change the world. I don't really think anything about normal day-to-day life is going to change because of what's discussed here, but I'm not delusional to the fact that…

Honestly, I think that you are way too attached to this girl considering your sexual preferences.

Yeah that part confused me too because in the OP he definitely refers to her as a girlfriend.

"We've talked about it, and she thinks it's a turn-on if I'm there but would be OK with it if I wasn't...honestly if the issue of my satisfying her sexually would be out of the way and if she wanted to take care of it "on the side" I'd be OK with that by now, I'm just concerned that it would lead to her deciding later to end things, I've heard that's how these things happen." Man, that was hard to read.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
