The only reason one is compelled to love their parents is the obligation to provide a shelter and food, this is pretty accepted like... Very few people will insist that you get in contact with parents who abandoned you as a child, but if they kept you clothed and bathed, the consensus generally would be that it's right for that child to show loyalty to their family.
