kinda makes sense. biking is inherently dangerous, and if more men are biking than women, sure women aren't as likely to bike but the men are also more likely to die. making it safer is equality no matter which way around because it's both evening out the amount of male and female riders, as well as making sure that less men are killed on the roads. it's a win-win, as i see it.

he said it himself saying that he cheated, and sent nudes without consent. that's bad. his wife doxxed him in retaliation. that's bad. everybody sucks here. there isn't always a lie behind it, especially when drama gets started by a confession.

out of curiosity, which social media was this posted on? because the red line, background and font make it seem awfully similar to an apple notes document.

welcome! before you do much more, i've got to warn you. most feminist subs regard this sub as a hate sub, often leading to a ban on sight. if you have any feminist subs you like, it's probably a good idea to make an alt account. again, welcome, and thanks for sticking up for men's rights!

in some regards, i agree. this isn't likely to go down well on this sub tho. like any other sub, some post shit and don't care so much, others do and post articles and conversations. people (even here) have a different idea of what they want when they say they are after equal rights for men. unfortunately, it's often a lot easier to blame things on people instead of a system. it certainly doesn't help that people are more focussed on the things that 'feminists' are saying, like the hashtag men a…

welcome to the sub! i'll just warn you quickly, most subs directly related to feminism will ban you on sight if they notice you frequent this sub, since it's seen as a 'hate' sub, so i'd stop now if you hold any of them dear. i'm looking forward to seeing what you think about men's issues, so have a nice stay!

i agree. it's not pleasant the way that MRAs are talked about, but this is one of the first times ever that the issues like high male suicide rates are being discussed openly in public, with a large number of participants. if we do take it that feminists are trying to understand the cause, but are perhaps incorrect, we can know at least the issue has come to their attention. that is the first step. the second step relates to the cause. at this point, we have attention around the main issues men …

to be honest, i'd say this is progress. yes, there are people throwing shade at MRAs. yes, they are using phrases like 'toxic masculinity' which don't usually go down well with MRAs. but we are getting discussion! support, even! from my perspective at least, they agree with us on the issue, although our ideas about the causation are different. i'm kind of glad. let's look on the bright side, hey?

while we're at it, isn't it enough to post an article and say "this isn't ok"? why do i see so many posts on this reddit with all that 'tweet with me to seek justice' stuff? they usually don't provide anything but the title, which is misleading. whenever i see something on this sub, an article or a documentary, i start thinking "shouldn't we be open about our thoughts instead of just saying 'this bad lol, join me'"? i want to hear opinions, with a little more supporting evidence than a title. i …

i'd say it's down to this part. it is verifiably sourced (i.e. it doesn’t rely on mere dismissiveness/speculation, non-feminist preferences or anecdotal evidence. In particular, pure anti-feminist propaganda is not allowed, since personal non-/anti-feminist preferences are deemed as not informative or relevant); furthermore, presentation of relevant data must not be biased against the feminist position (i.e. there should be a best effort to include the evidence/arguments supportive of the femini…

jesus christ can we just stop the infighting. keep it a civil discussion, please. you have some reasonable points, but stopping women from joining the military means that only men will be killed, wounded or mentally scarred from conscription. this is exactly the same problem we already have, and keeping this the same will mean nothing gets better for men, or women. take a look at this way: if women aren't taking some of the most dangerous jobs men have, men will remain being injured or killed at…

i can kinda see people making standup on shit like the gentleman's roll and man size tissues, rhod gilbert style. just nit picky, oddly specific anecdotes about the most bullshit things anyone and everyone has ever done. making a mockery of things really adds a new perspective. anybody got any good comedians they'd recommend?

this is a very interesting thing you've found. if you leave someone who likes you alone, they'll come to find you. if they don't come back, don't fret. there's only one thing that i find perhaps misleading, being point 6. i agree that you would need an answer, but maybe it could be reworded to include something like 'not in the mood' since it kinda implies that that might not be an appropriate answer. the rest of this is actually very well written, so that it's explicit in what it means, and har…

"It’s been defined recently as ‘hostility towards men,'" she says, "which is far too broad, and extremely subjective." sure. if that were the truth. oh and i'm sorry that you find hatred against men too broad to consider, especially since you completely misunderstand the idea that men can be victims too, while stating that men are statistically a majority of perpetrators of violence without also filling in the rest of the population of offenders (women). the fact that women do commit crimes and …

ah. the only thing that comes to mind would be mothers that are controlling and coddle their children. nothing much else jumps to mind, especially for women in general.

up until 2 years ago, i was effectively a slave to feminism. my mother is a feminist who feels that women should be believed in a lot of the sexual allegations we see today (though i love her to bits and with some of the information that has been released, she has become more moderate). my father was working 80 hour weeks overseas for my first 8 years of life for a wage that could barely support us. i stopped looking forward to the weekend, but started to get hyped for 'daddy days' where he woul…

i still stand by my point. we can't allow ourselves to become what we seek to destroy. i'm not saying ignore it; quite the opposite. if we can highlight that such a saying directly targets men without making it personal (perhaps through anonymity, which would also protect against claims of chauvinism) and show people that using 'toxic masculinity' is toxic in itself, then our chances of success rise. you have raised an excellent point, but as /u/betterbadideas said, this is better put as a quest…

toxicity. if there were to be a new phrase like 'toxic femininity' created, we'd only be targeting them the same way people who use 'toxic masculinity' unironically are targeting us. it would be a mistake to create a new term, or to use any existing term. our course of action ought to be to generalise the use of the word toxic, but not to target it at people: we should use it against actions. we should be fighting against misandry and misogny, but not the people who hold such opinions.

separation won't help imo. that'll just make children unaccustomed to the opposite sex. it probably won't help with social skills, since being unable to really talk to half the world is a big disadvantage. however, with the gender of teachers, you can't control who gets hired, so there isn't much we can do (though it may be nice). what we might need, is, say a set of guidelines set by the ministry of education, similar to how they say "your kids need to do maths, english and science". that may a…
