This is disgusting. Why are the names and faces of children being printed at all? Why are the names and faces of children who have been deemed innocent by law enforcement being re-printed? Why is the 18 year old not being charged with statutory rape of 14 and 15 year old children? Why is the name of a legal adult who has committed the crime of false reporting not being printed?

Is this satirical? Faking a fall in soccer hurts no one. Faking an injury to avoid being forcibly shipped away for dangerous combat and a high risk of death is self-preservation and in many ways smart. Concocting an elaborate rape scam is nothing short of pathological with the potential for serious harm to others.

That article, which popped up yesterday somewhere on here, is especially callous. How a major publication can publish something so disturbingly mean-spirited against people who suffer from cancer, is beyond me. I for one will be writing to the editor to express my concerns. I see your point, but whether or not professional musicians will be satisfied with the quality of the product wasn't really what I was getting at. Why forego thorough survey design in such a large scale data collection study? To me, it looks like the vague, invalid, unreliable questions are deliberate so as to influence the results, allowing the researchers to portray the issue of sexual assault as bigger than it really is. Honestly, this is survey design 101 and there's no excuse, especially from an institution such as Harvard.

Thanks for making this graphic. I guess you've used tinyurl for aesthetic purposes but I think it'd be more powerful to provide actual URLs so the reader can instantly gauge the reliability of the source. Eg a government source provides much greater validity than a random blog, but this isn't immediately viewable using tinyurls. Just a suggestion.

I agree with most of what you say, though I received that data from a male European psychiatrist specialised in depression and I highly doubt he is pushing a feminist agenda (not to say it doesn't happen, just to state it is a widely held perspective because of how "suicide attempt" is currently defined).

I was told in a mental illness lecture recently that attempted suicides between men and women are similar, it's just that men are more successful (for want of a better word) at suicide techniques than women. I don't see this as a men's rights issue in any way. Poor AED training, yes. The heart cannot be shocked if there is insufficient contact between the pads and skin so excessive hair on the chest is a legitimate and important concern. All kits include shaving devices and this should have been done ASAP.
