It hurts because evolutionarily if guys let their women sleep around then soon your genes won't be in your kids, and it lasts a long time because that feeling needs to be so deep that society will shun women who cheat because all men will be angry and disgusted at them, which helps all men. Controlling women's reproduction is central to all our biological drives. It's why males in other species get so violent to drive each other off. Humans are complicated, but we have the same drives. Even if a…

Prestige professions I would not want to marry a doctor or anyone in high finance or management consulting or big law. The lifestyle is grueling and soul destroying. I have a lot of friends and family who do those types of jobs and they are mostly miserable. They are also hard to hang with because their schedules are so demanding. Also lots of conspicuous consumption, which doesn't appeal to me. The best spouse career is one that is 9-5 or similar and leaves them functional and fun when not at w…

I think the in-law angle is pretty terrifying really. Yes, being great with their family is good for many reasons. But I don't want anyone thinking that getting your hooks into the family is a good way to preserve a shaky marriage. I don't especially like the idea of involving family in marriage disputes as mediators. And making a spouse feel like they are trapped because their family wouldn't like a divorce is just going to create resentment and ruin the marriage.

Everyone wants different things as they age. The best partner at age 16 is not the best at 21 is not the best at 28. A marriage is a business relationship plus fucking plus maybe gene swap. The serious long term relationships I've seen fall apart most often happen when one partner can't keep up with the growing adult expectations of their partner. This is especially risky when you get together young and let the relationship keep going on out of fear and habit, especially if there are children ea…

He's not as lean as modern Hollywood actors sometimes get, but he's got a lot of muscle in that photo. He's every bit big enough for modern cinema. It's only rare film roles like Thor where pure physical beef is called for and steroids are required. Brando transported to today would easily be able to fit into the level of physicality we expect of actors like Vin diesel or Channing Tatum. But Brando was unusual. Most actors of his generation were very wiry, like Eastwood and Newman.

Gym culture being mainstream started in the 80s, as did roided up actors. So basically my entire life. Even looking back at something like streetcar named desire, Marlon Brando was a complete beefcake That being said, it's probably more prevalent now than before. Because Hollywood has decided to sell male beef a lot harder. The bright lighting and sharp hd digital cameras also make appearance even more important. Skin care has gone up just as much as steroids and iron. That also being said, I th…

My very feminine wife has similar feelings to you. I do all the cooking. She does more cleaning than I do, though I do some. The one thing I insist is that my wife try to give me patience and understanding. And I try to return the favor. You can't place a cookie cutter on top of your marriage and expect it to fit. If he wants to cook, let him. Enjoy it and let him know you enjoy it.

Absolutely. I know very few men who have much interest in having children in a concrete way, especially multiple children. Most men I know complain a lot about how fatherhood is a drag, financially and in terms of time and energy. Religion and male thirst are the only reason men put up with that shit.

I make about the same as my wife. It's very convenient because we are living on the lower of two salaries which gives us the room to take career risks because if one of us loses a job we can handle it. Reduced financial stress makes for a happier marriage which makes everything else easier I've been in relationships that were imbalanced and I didn't care for it. One person always ended up feeling like they weren't pulling their weight

If a guy asks, I think a woman should be completely honest to the limits of what he wants to know. If knowing something about her sexual history is going to bother him, so be it, figure that out early. Keeping secrets rots the soul and builds a pattern of keeping more secrets especially about your sexuality, which is an area where honesty and communication are critical because it's all in your head. Do you really want to live a relationship where you think your partner won't be able to accept yo…

I would caution you against leaping to any specific conclusions. People are complicated so this could be anything. I'm just saying that this is the sort of information you need to get from him and that he should be able to give you. Simply telling him that you want him to be more dominant might be very confusing if he has reasons for why he's acting the way he is. You need to get those reasons out of him and talk them over as a first step so that you can both then move on to discussing what you …

I would add that relationships are a two way street. If he's changing his behavior it could be a reaction to something going on in your relationship or his impression of you. One thing that definitely I've noticed is that men sometimes will try hard to placate their wives and will roll over on things when they worry that the wife will be upset, which often can come from learned behavior based on how the wife reacts to not getting her way or maybe if the wife is dealing with mental health issues …

I wouldn't go that far. I do think that most men in their hearts would love the freedom I described. That's what red pill plate spinning is all about. But there's tradeoffs and men get something they want out of monogamy too. I think women are completely aware of all of this deep down just like men are aware that their women often deep down really want to fuck rock stars and other celebrities or powerful men, though they usually don't because reality imposes constraints. She still loves him. It'…

What you call good guy really translates to guy who is risk averse. Especially with his relationship. He likes what he has. He doesn't want to lose it. For most guys it's really hard to get a decent relationship going, as this sub likes to point out. So he invests in his woman and has to keep her happy so she doesn't leave or become cold (especially if they have kids because divorce is so bad in those cases). He cares about her feelings. He doesn't want to upset his girl. He doesn't want to be s…

I'm not saying men don't experience love. Though there are many practical reasons why people stay in relationships. But I'm saying that the reason a man doesn't sleep around isn't directly because of love. It's because he values the relationship and doesn't want stress that cheating brings. He can value the relationship in part because of love.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/20 10:41 PM
1

It's not about love. It's about fear of the consequences. There's more to a relationship than sex and most people value that other stuff a lot. Sleeping around can ruin your relationship and is stressful. Most people don't like taking those kinds of risks. If there was a zero risk option that was easy then even men in committed relationships would be taking smoking breaks from work and banging multiple new women a day just for fun and without asking their names
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/20 04:44 PM

I'm not you. I don't know the whole story. I'm not saying you should stay with him. But if I was you I would be trying to find out if he wants to have kids, if you want to have kids (eventually), whether you both are excited at the idea of having them together, and whether your ideas about the right time are in agreement. Weddings are just gravy on top of the actually important stuff

This is ridiculous. If you're tall and past puberty you can lift for two years and not hit 1000 total. But that's plenty strong and you will be much bigger than most guys That being said, there are definitely girls who really really like huge guys and are not hugely concerned about bodyfat so long as it's below 20 which is gonna look great at that level of strength. It's very individualized

It's not about you. He doesn't want to get married right now. Maybe later. He can be very excited about you but be terrified of marriage. That's ok. Are you trying to have kids right now? For many men marriage is a business relationship to protect children.

As a married dude, and the question seemed to invite male responses, I would say that there's nothing to the idea that he will get bored of seeing you nude or nearly nude so long as he has a healthy sex drive, you are attractive, and you respond positively to his advances and encourage them actively. But really the person you should talk to about this is him. His turnons could call for something different. Most men are pretty good at understanding what turns them on. Take him at his word when he…

Absolutely. I would say that you have to consider that there are a lot of people who are fundamentally honest. There are men who don't go through life trying to see what they can get away with. There are men who care about the well-being of others. There are men who postpone gratification and who communicate honestly about their needs with their partners. You got unlucky. That's all

This is overly simplified. Women have a lot to offer besides sex. But what's important is that very little of that matters at all to men who aren't interested in having children with a given woman. And you never get to that point if the woman isn't giving the man something like what he wants sexually. Sex is required for most men to be interested. But there's a lot of other stuff for a man to want more.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 07:43 PM

This is only half true. What's also true is that those women tend heavily to step back in their careers after having children and that this is intentional. Women who attended elite universities became stay at home moms and part timers at a higher rate than most other college educated women. They also diverge from men in pursuing less intensive workplaces and industries with greater flexibility. A quick Google search will turn up a ton of articles covering this issue and reaching the same conclus…

Many of the best cooks i know will tell you to start with the show good eats. Start at the beginning. It's not a normal cooking show, it's a televised version of culinary school. It will teach you the basics and how to build on those. It will teach you what is actually going on and why you do the things that recipes call for so you can learn to play with them

The poster I was responding to used the word "tells" and suggests that women are in charge in most relationships and that's what I was responding to. I've never been in a relationship where the woman was in charge, but I might just only end up in relationships with naturally redpilled women I agree with the majority of responses that a reasonable request for help from one spouse to another should usually result in a good outcome barring some impediment.

This is definitely not my marriage. If my wife tried ordering me around in an arbitrary way (not like don't touch the frying pan it's got) it might not go well. We ask respectfully for the things we need, we give out of love, and if you ask her I'm definitely in charge of pretty much everything I want to be in charge of, and she handles the stuff I delegate to her (often because she cares more than I do, like cleaning and Christmas presents)

Most? Absolutely not. I remember being in college and most of the girls were very ordinary and while bangable not something I thought about. So if your standard is are most girls bangable then sure if you're willing to exclude the ugly and fat and old ones. Right, Emily Abbott is on steroids and has a physique better than most male lifters. She's a poor example for anyone. There is a natural limit to how much muscle your body is willing to carry, and even if you get there (you won't come close), that limit is pretty low and not enough to make most people look all that big so long as they stay lean. That's the rule for both men and women. In years of heavy lifting, I never saw a single woman who looked too muscular, and I was hanging sometimes with …

Fitness models are the peak of femininity for a lot of guys. They didn't get that way by running on the treadmill and lifting little pink dumbbells. Female bodybuilders look masculine because of taking male sex hormones and because they run very low bodyfat levels (like unhealthily low). To achieve that takes intense dedication and purpose. It's not gonna happen by accident or overnight. You won't wake up one day and be like "oh no what have I done, I'm a dude." And even if you got somewhere you…

Came here to write this. Exactly right. Most importantly always remember that in relationships never expect the other person to change to suit your preferences. They might change, but it will be because of them not you, and you can't predict the direction. You can't change someone. Either you are ok with them right now or you will never be. The fixer-upper partner is a myth, especially for anyone older than 25 or so. Maybe it works for a few people, but I've never seen it though I've seen a lot …

Happily married man here. I love my wife. She seems to feel the same. We are great. She is not my best friend though. We have few common interests. I've never dated a woman with whom I share many common interests. We have common friends who we hang out with, mostly couples. Most of them don't seem to have many common interests either. Intimate? That sounds loaded. Here's my pervy answer then. Step one. In the leadup to his birthday, try to get him every day to exchange sexual fantasies with you, especially things you've never done before. Exchanging erotica can work well here. Or if you're visual you can use porn. Both of you doing it will make it easier for him to be vulnerable. Then do your best to try to live out those fantasies he comes to you with every night. I'm with you on all of this except the single motherhood thing. East Asia has near zero levels of children born out of wedlock. The cultural pressure and shame involved is at critical levels. Maybe this could possibly change in a few generations but at that point you're talking 20-40 more years of miniscule birthrates so the pyramid is going to collapse and create social chaos before we get there

Still married to my father who she adores. He was always in charge and nobody really trusts her to get anything done correctly. Her job growing up was to keep the children alive and be always a loving companion to my father, which she succeeded at. I've read before that professional women golf players have a huge tendency to be caddied/coached by their husbands, which is generally not a high status job compared to the examples you cited. I think the biggest reason for this is that people tend to date the people who are around them. Most female tennis and golf pros aren't celebrities and have been dedicated to their sport since childhood. Most of their social time is with other players and coaches and sometimes the families of other players…

So there's definitely a lot of Truth to this but that's also because this is what happens to some degree anyway. Guys aren't born suave and charming, it takes work, and there's no such thing as a true natural that I can tell. That being said, I would argue that picking up more desirable girls is simply a different game entirely from picking up insecure girls who aren't getting much attention. The brain simply responds differently to beautiful people even when you are used to getting laid, so the…

Sure but you're missing what is being communicated. Women demonstrate who they are attracted to by who they fuck. Whatever that is, but typically status, wealth, looks (and secondary indicators like confidence, style, and charm) do a lot of the lifting. Within those relationships however is where women are saying that they wish the guys they were fucking were more honest, empathetic, and generally nicer. They want better relationships. Shockingly. I think part of what you're picking up is a flaw in the media that popularizes the impression of women as victims and men as victimizers. This same media also doubles down on enabling women to whine about problems rather than fixing them. I'm not sure this applies to all women though, and I suspect many women feel like they got the trade they were expecting As for why that might be in the case of housework, the answer is very simple: women care a lot more about cooking and nesting and childcare …

Maybe because they don't feel financial pressure to stay in an unhappy relationship. Unhappy relationships could be equally prevalent regardless of income differences and women might rationally stick around more when they felt leaving might result in a worsened situation

Seriously you read this thing and it's like a landmine of "this study looked interesting but didn't replicate actually" Can any of this stuff be taken seriously at this point? What does hard to get mean? Does it mean being vague and not showing interest? Does it mean mind games? Or does it just mean flirting where you are making it very clear you are interested but just aren't jumping into his pants immediately? I think most guys can tolerate a little extended flirting and courtship so long as it's expertly performed and you keep showing strong interest while just slowing things down initially

This is absolutely not true. It may be true that a woman can be fifty pounds overweight and still get attention. But she's not going to get the same quality of attention from high quality guys generally. Guys definitely prefer women to be fit. They don't necessarily want women to look like runway models obviously because there is such a thing as too thin but that's not a problem for the vast majority of people

I'm not saying it's an automatic write-off. I'm saying it's a red flag. Imagine that the tables were turned and we were talking about a guy who was basically an incel for most of his 20s, super awkward and lacking the social niceties, bad style. As a married dude, when I was looking for a LTR I know I always ran like hell from girls who didn't have a clear history of monogamous long term relationships. I could have missed out on some great ones, but frankly the risk to my mind was too great of ending up with either a woman who was a polygamous thrillseeker (which I didn't want) or a frigid spinster with no need for male companionship. It's all relative. The most attractive people are scarce, and everyone else wants to look like that but generally can't because they lack the bone structure, hormones, healthy upbringing, time and resources and training, diet, dental care. We can get all philosophical about materialism, and that's cool. Maybe people would be happier if they lived simpler lives. There's several subreddits about that idea. People can already do that though without needing to change the law or culture. Just buy less, consume less, work less, bingo. But you're almost certainly wrong about quality going up. Forget dollars and cents my friend It's basic economics. The economy can only consume what it produces. Its ability to produce is limited by various constraints but a big one is human capital. If you removed like half of the human capital from the formal economy (and pushed it into informal lowvalue tasks like housework and cooking and daycare) then the economy would produce a whole lot less, maybe not 50 percent less but a big drop. This has been going on for many years but it's very noticeable that the effect is stronger as you go down the ability scale. The very best male talent goes to college at a very high rate. If you look at big flagship state schools you'll see gender equity, and from what I can tell this doesn't reflect some large policy of gender affirmative action by the schools to admit underqualified men. This hugely. Tinder users are overwhelmingly male. Most women who are single aren't aching to get laid every day. The ones you see on tinder are selected for being open to casual sex and are not at all representative. Depends a lot on how things are communicated. In my experience women who are very direct and open do better than women who operate behind a shield of ambiguity. Men fucking hate ambiguity. Sex is a strongly unambiguous signal of interest, but it's not the only way. I definitely disagree. There are lots of fake guys, usually in the context of business or networking, you can pick up an lot of insincerity from guys.
