Men support men by reminding them never to use terms like “femme presenting person” or “implicit bias” because all that junk is what’s really hurting us

All brilliant advice in the posts above. I’d add, given your age your facial hair most likely hasn’t finished filling out. I know what worked for me was 4-6 months of shaving and working towards shaving against the grain (upwards on your face). This encourages follicles that may not have been active to begin growth and start to fill in the patches. It takes time and you’ll have to grow and shave multiple short beards while you train the patchy spots to grow. Once your stubble is reasonably solid…

The two other blokes here are legends, don’t beat yourself up. As for a new hobby, I can’t recommend fishing enough! I’ve found the learning new techniques and knot tying practice to be wonderfully calming before you even start actually fishing. Whether it’s a local lake, beach, river, out on a boat, just being outside and having an activity to focus on really gives your subconscious time to process other things. I’ve also noticed first hand that other men seem to open up a lot more about their …

Hey man, first step with addiction is recognising the problem so well done. If you’ve got a bug, never underestimate a bed day. Your personal health should always come first. Hope you’re doing okay

Think of it as an investment in your mental health. Even if you’re not actively fishing, knot practise is such a good offline, mind calming activity. I dunno, it’s not for everyone but I guess it’s just a simple, repetitive activity to focus on and help clear the mind

Come on, it’s not society exploiting labour off a group of men. It’s good men, supporting other men, engaging in actively constructing beneficial objects for their local community…

Into the 2nd month of bad weather means I haven’t been able to go fishing for weeks. It’s so hard to switch off and decompress, just found this sub but huge shoutout to you blokes. I’m not on here a huge amount but if anyone wants to chat about anything feel free to flick me a message

The point of this thread is to be here for each other, you will never be a burden here mate. As for real life, take up fishing. Trust me. Either get a mate into it as well or be brave and get to know some other local fishos. The activity itself is peaceful, safe, brilliant for your mental health and I’ve personally found once you’re out there doing it, a lot of blokes open up and can have soul healing conversations.

Take up fishing man, it’s THE most underrated mental health medicine. Lake, river, beach or boat, just switch off, tie some knots, feel the breeze and breath

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
