Thats a great start! I think good next steps would be to try to work something out with your families so that you get your day off.

Do you live near his parents? If so, see if they can babysit for you every once in a while. If not, get involved in a church yourself, with or without your husband. Try to find one that has a big emphasis on small groups and building community. People at our church are always babysitting, making dinners, picking up kids, helping with cleaning, etc. Those kinds of relationships are critical. Lastly, there’s a difference between keeping sweet and having a quiet and gentle spirit. One is pretense, …

I’m sorry to hear about this, it sounds like an incredibly hard situation. I’m that case, my answer is again going to be from a Christian perspective, but in the assumption that you are essentially married to an unbeliever. Keep praying for him, keep submitting to him (as long as he is not leading you into sin). Don’t look to your husband for fulfillment, look to Christ. I do think that there’s a limit to what rpw can offer, and that at a certain point, you have to accept that it’s out of your h…

From the Christian perspective: It is your husband responsibility to lay down his life for yours, and to love you as Christ loves the church. This means that regardless of “traditional gender roles,” he should be attuned to your needs and willing to assist you in anyway that isn’t sin. A man helping around the house is not sin. Are you members of a local church? Do you have an older couple you admire who might be able to give you some guidance in this?

If you're looking for a partner (or preparing yourself to look for a partner) I'd recommend, "What He Must Be," by Voddie Baucham. My boyfriend and I read it when we started dating. For me it was helpful to have a clear picture of what a Christ-seeking leader looks like, and how to evaluate the men you meet.

The self-righteousness is very real. I try not to be too hard on that issue, since I've struggled with it myself (and still struggle honestly). We're not overly intimate because I am waiting until marriage for sexual intimacy. He's understanding about it, although he doesn't quite see the necessity. This turns into him looking down on women who do have sex/get pregnant out of wedlock. We agree that those actions are not ideal. I tend to think about why someone might have done that, and how to en…

Yeah, I think that one of the reasons I've been thinking about this aspect in particular was a conversation some of my friends were having last week. "Sometimes you have to be willing to lose a fight to save a friendship." I can't see him doing something like that.

That's what I've kind of been worried about. He has some people he follows online, but I feel like it would be helpful to have older, more reasonable men in his own life. But I don't feel like it's my place to push on that side. Especially if the aim is to work towards marriage, right?

I think he intends to try to get to the bottom of an issue, but it always feels more like a debate to me. He's not usually disrespectful to me, but often is about other people. That primarily bothers me when it's in the context of people I like. " wow babe i feel like such and such, or babe don't you think you're slightly exaggerating when you say such and such about liberals? I have several liberal friends and they aren't like that..." I've tried this before, but he's pretty set on the idea tha…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
