Two answers here. Your job doesn't matter at all in your ability to pick up women at this stage. Assuming you're not trying to marry these women. At your age it's more about vibe and energy and interests. You want to optimize those. l Your job should be an absolute priority at 19 though. For yourself and your future. By that I mean figuring out what you want to do in life. Right now you are transitioning into a new job, and yes you need an income, but I cannot stress enough the importance of tak…

I'm an introvert. I still cringe from an approach I did 5 years ago when I was at a bar with friends and I walked over to two girls sitting at a table and opened, had a couple exchanges, mind went blank and I turned around and left abruptly. What must they have thought? I've had brutal moments like this, some I remember some I don't. Either way I'm glad I had the balls to do it, as well as the many other approaches that actually went well. That's the overriding feeling at the end always. Can't g…

Do you live in a big city? If not I would move to one instantly. I'd also get involved in a bunch of stuff, go to city events. Art shows. Get involved and in the social mix. If you're shy there's a lot you can do to overcome it, but if you mean your only shyness is approaching women then that's different, but can also be improved.

Yep. Add me to supporting this comment. My biggest fears come from thinking everytime I have to go from seeing a girl to asking her out and getting her number or finishing a convo involving me hitting on her. But baby steps should come first if you're completely unseasoned and nervous. You can even make a hierarchy of progress. Some people start with eye contact, then greetings, then compliments, then conversations with all types, then conversations with attractive women with no objective, then …

Find what? Improv? I meant take improv comedy classes. You can find them in most cities. You just have to look it up in your city.

Dating app dates were amazing practice for me. Improv classes also did wonders for my ability to get out of my head and keep a convo going. I highly reccomend improv.

Appreciate the post. Its a very weird feeling but you can get results. And its worth it as a man to go through regardless. I was extremely shy in my past. Horribly so. Could fill a book with what I went through to break out of my anxiety. One of the things I did was approach. I didn't become an expert, but I tried for a bit. The creep factor I have to admit is at once real, unsettling, but also liberating. You are blatantly violating the natural order of things. People are minding their business…

Lol what? Browsing what? The feed you were getting from the micro lens attached to the bottom of your walking stick that happened to be pointed up her skirt? How can you get done for simply browsing?

Talk to other girls, mate. Many of us have lingering what ifs after a moment has passed, and this includes even more obvious flirty moments than the slightly above average customer service you received (BTW certain types of attractive girls tend to be friendlier in general). The experience can mess with our heads. The cure is to keep it pushing and take advantage of what's in front of you. You can either do it in a timely manner or waste time and energy beating a dead horse. Move on!

It's not bad boy dominant energy. It's character, resolve and courage. We live in an uncertain world of which women are more vulnerable creatures. Centuries of evolutionary conditioning has taught them to seek protection in a powerful mate. A powerful mate optimizes their chances of survival. Nowadays, things aren't as crude as that, but there is clearly a lingering element in most women that still assesses a man's capability to lead. Because leadership means putting oneself first into the fray,…

Being on reddit should at least teach people not to fret over the right thing to say. You cant exactly control upvotes/downvotes. They come pretty random. Just make your best play quickly and confidently and lighthearted. What will work on some people won't work on others. No point in overthinking it, just play the odds, take the plays that end up working and shake off the ones that fail. Your instinct becomes wittier and your resilience becomes tougher not through thinking about it, just throug…

Hour forty minutes drive to be stood up. I mean letting her go is obvious. Move on. The real lesson here is make sure your party is actually showing up before you drive that far next time. My condolences though. Sounds like a terrible experience. Don't let it get you down. It's good you didn't have to go through anything further with this person.

I see what you are saying, but let me ask you this: If you have an issue, you confess the issue, but then you eliminate all behavioral manifestations of said issue so your partner barely feels it, what's the point of confessing the issue in the first place? Personal relief? To me that feels indulgent and unnecessary. In my experience it's better to practice self coping and discipline for things like this. Ok, mention it once or twice here and there, but overall it'll make you more solid to have …

I get that. But I believe what starts out as a facade becomes a truth in this area. No way you fuck 40+ women without developing an inner resilience to their moods, or reduce your anxieties about them just naturally. OP has neediness issues currently, very relatable. His vulnerabilities are not simply moments of weakness that a "good girl" will embrace. They are direct lines to a deeper insecurity that most girls will pick up on and possibly reject (admittedly not the end of the world). He still…

Don't fall for that. Women speak in hyperbole a lot. Don't dismiss it either, but don't let it sway you too far, nor her withdrawn attitude. Just chill somewhere in the middle with your level-headed reasoning.

I've never confided in my girl. I feel like it's a trap. I used to have bad social anxiety and every once in a while I'll tell her about it, but it's always in past tense, and usually in good humor. When I first started dating I used to have this urge to spill all my emotions to women, my fears, my sorrows, my regrets. And girls will pick at you to be more "vulnerable" with them. Like they want you to tell them, they want you to break down. But I feel like their real attraction works the opposit…

Force yourself to stop your looks at a certain point and just go out. Meaning don't get that perfect haircut or perfect outfit and just throw something together and go out. Be clean and decent though, that's important, but put yourself at 80% of what you normally would, on dates and nights out. Realize there are guys who don't look as good as you and are pulling women left and right, your game is weak, so sharpen your game. Make moves, feel uncomfortable and go for it. It's like if you're a bad …

There's a zillion other options for that time of night than trashy clubs with horrific pop music. I'd say look for something else to do, and use clubs as a last resort.

Be yourself is actually great advice if you don't have social anxiety. The reason is because you put your true, uninhibited self out there and you get feedback from the world, and you make improvements and try again. You learn what works and what doesn't, so by allowing yourself to test itself in society, you undergo rapid improvement cycles and at the same time you make connections with people who already like what you're putting out. No one has a default amazing self at the beginning, and the …

One of my biggest college regrets is not joining more extracurricular clubs. I thought they were nerdy, but there are actually cool women there, and the group might do stuff like go out to eat together, see a live show together where you can mingle with other people, or they'll attend a bigger campus event as a group, or they'll have friends and friends of friends you can meet, or they'll have the inside scoop on a house party. So definitely look up college groups and join them. Also use the mee…

Ok, I took a minute to think about this and put together this list of activities where one can find women. Dependent on city size. I've had success with some of these and others are speciation. LIVE MUSIC SHOWS Friday/Saturday night, mid size to small bands. At cocktail bars, lounges. Find the local artsy or rock scene. Usually there will be a couple "hip" flavor of the month bands playing at various “in the know” joints in the city. They tend to attract a following of cool, fashionable intellig…

Bro first of all your IG ain't it 🤦 Take it down, it's giving Taxi Driver, and will probably cause women to avoid you if they look you up. I'd never have an IG if it weren't for women being uncomfortable with my lack of social media. So I put a page together but kept it palatable. Warm colors, universally cool scenarios, friendly, high quality photo and video. But don't try too hard, and if you want to post anything raw, use an anonymous account or something.

Sounds like a George Costanza move, apart from the weed. But I'm sure I saw this rouse on a sitcom somewhere. Sounds like a bad idea. Edit - lol it was a seinfeld plot. except instead of stealing the woman's stuff, George left his item with the woman. . Bro even Costanza has better ethics than you.

Haha. Well I'll say the nightclub scene takes no prisoners and the baddies are the deadliest catch. Top of the food chain. They are looking to be tamed by the smoothest guys with the tightest game and looking to pick their teeth with any sucker who doesn't measure up. Personally I find baddies/barbies/thots overrated, but they're a nice challenge. But anyway, point is you're jumping in the deep end right off the bat. Escalate early. You're probably not flirting, displaying sexual interest, touching, kissing early enough. You gotta make moves. Compliment a girl's lips. Say she has nice lips. Tell her that her dress makes her look sexy, that her body is messing with your head. She should be a model. She should give you a private fashion show. Her perfume is turning you on. Don't sniff her arm or anything weird like that. Make a dirty joke but look innocent about it and confused, genuine, have some sexual bante…

Don't hide your intentions. It's exponentially AWFUL to lie about this. Be up front, and accept when girls don't want fwb. Statistically, in my experience, fewer women want fwb than relationships, so expect many to say no and just move on. The fwbs I've met are usually in bars, clubs and on tinder.

Haven't read the responses but I'm sure people have mentioned practice. That is the best way. But a key here is talk to girls AND guys. Unless you're amazing at speaking with male strangers but not women, youll want to improve your socializing skills in general. So when you do go out, talk to everyone, don't just zero in on women.

Theres a threshold age for dating women in which they are fair game for any age of man. 30 year women are experienced, intelligent, and capable enough to date any age of man they choose. 20s is pretty sus for a 47 year old. 30 is perfectly fine for any age. They are mature.

Oh. I forgot to add. You want to talk to the guys there too, not just the girls. It helps. Girls like the sense of a guy bringing them into a fun community. If you're talking to other guys you build up a frame of reference and safety. However, if you haven't talked to any guys, that doesn't mean you can't talk to girls. But it's definitely nice to be just friendly to everyone, and talk to the girls just like you talk to the guys at first, then later on, if you're getting good signals you can be …

24 is ridiculously young. Saying I don't wanna finish the year single is not a great mindset, you're already sounding desperate when you have absolutely no reason to be. The fact is you will get another girlfriend, a great one, as someone who seems socially competent and decently attractive, you'll be fine, so don't obsess. That is working against you. You can afford to let good things come to you at 24, and you can even afford to let good things pass you by. Yes, put yourself out there, build y…

Honestly just bludgeon your way through it. I'm guessing you're not a social wit or expert in public, nor am I. It's OK to attempt talking. I used to think I was disqualified from flirting or chatting if I couldn't do the whole seamless convo dance, saying what feels natural and employing unscripted charm. But I realized even asking basic questions, like "what restaurants or bars do you recommend?", or in your case, "do you know any other running courses?", "where'd you buy your shoes," its all …

OK well that's vaguely small, but large enough that you should have places to operate and practice without gaining a huge reputation. I think going out at night is fair game. Especially weekends. Everyone who's out at bars and clubs on a weekend night is trying to get laid, if they they say they aren't they're lying. During the day you might have to be a bit more lowkey. Just have an overall friendly vibe, engaging and see if you get reciprocation before you just ask for numbers or dates. Look a…

Cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt) and then exposure therapy. That's what I use. Sounds like a lot but it's simple and tends to work for me. 1 - CBT. Understand why you don't make eye contact in the first place. Spell out your distorted, anxious thoughts with actual words. For me it was, "I feel like a creep," "I'm exposing myself in some way," "they can read my fear," "it doesn't feel natural to me and that comes across," "I look/feel goofy," "I don't know how long to hold it." I had to correct…

I just don't see repeating the same mistakes after a ton of approaches. At that point your body should just naturally attune to the process. You'll get more comfortable, relaxed, and you'll at least get less needy if you're used to rejections. I feel like at the very least you'll get better baseline, even if the pickup lines themselves suck.

One of the most eye opening experiences ive had dating over the last 8 years is finding out what woman find attractive. Many guys wouldn't believe what these girls, even 9s and 10s are turned on by. It's rarely ever looks. Hallmark channel, romcoms, commercials and boy bands are misleading all of us. Maybe in grade school that was a thing, but once you leave grade school, even in college, the array of things women are drawn to becomes more real. Money is big. Money is a huge one. Height, with a …

It'll work in a million ways. But most likely it'll work in that you won't want that girl anymore lol, or at least won't be that fussed about it. However, first of all, the more girls you experience, the better you are at being romantic and attractive. All your mistakes, you learn from them. From dating to relationships, you learn how to deal with women, and there's a lot to learn, and women have variety. That's where the numbers help. You accelerate your skill development. When you have plenty …
